- Some found footage shot in Detroit in the Summer of 1980.
Whoever shot this footage was filming landmarks and attractions in Detroit at the time.
I was fascinated viewing the images and seeing all of the big names that appeared on the venue marquee's.
Joe Louis Arena, Cobo Hall, Greek Town, Detroit Historical Museum, Music Hall, Fisher Theatre etc.
It's very interesting to see what was happening in Detroit that day.
Along with all of the signs, we also see some footage of Harry Chapin performing at Pine Knob.
One of my favourite bits is the Americana Theatre marquee and the films that were screening that day.

I was still in high school in 1980 but I do recognise the Detroit Historical Museum sign as one I the many museums within walking distance to the DIA which UofWindsor art history students were allowed to use their library back then.
Memories of Greektown right here! I've several photos of myself with friends and family in the same spots you show here. Gyros! Ooop-aaah!

With Ouza!! Omg I miss great authentic Greek restaurants. I moved to Tucson, AZ 5 years ago from the east coast USA so I don't get back home to Windsor like I used to.
