    Your channel just cost me a lot of money! I'm a G&T newbie from South Africa primarily drinking Gordon's - picked up a bottle of Beefeater 24 as well as Bombay Sapphire today (didn't see your review until it was too late...). Beefeater is amazing, Bombay has a strange, harsh overpowering and sweet taste but luckily it was on special.

    By the way, Sencha is a type of a green tea from Japan, it's the fairly standard type of Japanese green tea, with more of an umami flavor to it!

    • @lucasdavis3809
      @lucasdavis3809 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also based on the story, the Sencha is the type of tea that would have been served as a replacement for the tonic like they mentioned, so that flavor is what they wanted to incorporate. Cheers from Georgia!

    I totally agree. I love to start with a beefeater London Dry, 2nd Beefeater 24, and end the happy hour with a Dutch Catz.

    Does this has a marbel ? I am not sure if mine should have a pouring marbel, as the original one has in the bottles neck

    I don't know about the more subtle flavours but it's definitely got tea and citrus . It's 45% vol which is stronger than any commonly available brands (read, UK and Ireland supermarket shelf brands) , the rest being from 37% to 43% typically. It's my favourite by far and your enthusiasm for it reflects how much I like it.. But mix it with a decent tonic water, Fever Tree or Schweppes Slimline Elderflower.. both are amazing with this gin. One of the best at it's price point. ...if only customs and excise didn't inflate the price by 75%. ...bastards. around $30 in Ireland.

    Liquor stores in Sweden usually do not have Beefeater 24 on the shelf, but you can place an order. I just ordered a bottle of Beefeater 24 in a nearby liquor store, and i will soon be able to go and get it. Bobby, would you say that it is as good for Dry Martinis as the regular Beefeater? I need to know if i should by a bottle of French vermouth or not when i am at the liquor store.

      Great question Per. I think if you liked Martinis with the normal Beefeater the. You will love it with this! Definitely get the vermouth!👍😊

      @@nononsensegindrinking5152 Now i have tried Beefeater 24, both by itself and in a Dry Martini. It is of course a good gin and works well for Dry Martinis, but Tanqueray is still my favorite for Dry Martinis.

      Yes it’s the ultimate barrel, Tanqueray 10 vs Beefeater 24. A very tough one to call! 😊

      @@nononsensegindrinking5152It would be interesting tor drink them at the same time to able to make a comparison. It would also be interesting to drink Beefeater 24 and the ordinary Beefeater at the same time, to be able to compare those two.

    The thing with Earl Grey is that it's tea spiked with a citrus oil like orange or lemon. So it's probably the combination with tea and the existing beefeater orange

  • @jvals

    If you had to choose, would you have either Beefeater 24 or Tanqueray 10?

    • @nononsensegindrinking5152
      @nononsensegindrinking5152  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oooh! Jordan! That’s the killer question! That’s like asking me to choose between my two children! 😂😂 they are both so good in their own unique way and to be honest it just depends what mood I’m in on any given day. However, I do have a real soft spot for the Beefeater with those amazing Chinese tea flavours and spices so if you put a gun to my head then I might just about pick it over the Tanqueray. 😊

    Many thanks for the video Bobby! Couldn’t agree more! Keep up the excellent work :) I didn’t identify the tea notes myself but now that you mention it, it makes sense!
    By the way, Quinine (quin-een it would be pronounced) is what makes tonic water taste like tonic water. I don’t know much about it other than it was a Malarial treatment in Asia at one point.
