    Handy note for anyone using this for astrophotography. Whilst the 25-400mm lens is amazing, has a low f stop and the sensor is pretty awesome too, it's a nightmare to work with. You get your star manually focused, set at lets say 300mm, you check some photos you've taken or go through the menu to change a setting and then WHIRRRRR....the camera has mechanically wound the lens back in. When you come out the menu, the camera will just return to its default 25mm and focal setting meaning all the work setting up your starfield shot is lost. Found this out the hard way.

    I got used FZ1000 few months ago primarily for airshows, historical events but now photography is my new hobby, so I take my camera whenever I can and do street photography etc. I also got used FZ38 which gets stomped by FZ1000 but it's a cute lil camera :).

    Bought mine second hand, but in mint condition. Its brilliant. So versatile and adaptable to your own style of photography. Great viewfinder and snaps into focus instantly. As a, bonus you can get 8 MP stills from 4K video, in camera. Got a great view of Jupiter and its moons, hand held, at maximum zoom range because of its good image stabilisation. Previously I had an FZ28 for 12 years, hope this lasts as long.

      @photographers.life.photos  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to tell me what settings you used to get that shot. My best moon photos are from this camera. But I always end up forgetting the settings.

    • @wlockley52
      @wlockley52 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@photographers.life.photos F4, maximum zoom, 1/40th hand held, braced again a wall. I focused initially on the moon which was bright and close to Jupiter and held the same focus for Jupiter. However it also proved possible to take a 4K video on ia and select the best frame.

      @photographers.life.photos  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wlockley52 My goodness you must have steady hands!! I could never shoot 1/40th hand held! My tripod shots are shaky thats how bad my shake is. With that being said I am going to try this. I have 5 good moon shots with this camera and some great Sun behind the clouds shots but I always forget the best settings......

    Thanks for the video! I have had this camera for 6 years, I bought it used in 2016 and it's been a good camera! I'll use it then it gets put away collects dust for a little bit then I pull it out dust it off again and use it, so far it's been solid over the years and the reason why I've never sold it or gotten rid of it I love the zoom lens on this camera 😎

      that is great to hear. Feel like I tend to do the same thing. If I want to get good photos and have the ability to take a wide variety of shots its the best to pick up. To me it is fun to use for beginners and pros

    I also like a bridge camera because the image quality is good, and the flexibility is a distinct advantage which enables quick easy capture of the moment. A real asset. My 42 mp Sony has more detail, but is less at hand, if you grock what I'm trying to say.

    I have that camera and at 12:42 you say it's great except for macro, I have taken full frame pictures of monarch butterflies so not sure what small thing you try to take pictures of but there is no problem in taking pictures of very small things with the camera

    • @photographers.life.photos

      Okay so I suck at taking macro with it. What settings do you use? I must be doing something wrong.

    A friend I k ow decided to stop with the FZ-1000 and get a simpler one a fz300. So for ga good price for about €450 I got it from him in good shape. The macro is kinda meh but for my landscape pics it's perfect

    Thanks for the video, I bought a FZ2500 a while back but have not used it. You have sparked my interest to get out/learn and to use it. Do you know if there was much difference in the FZ2500 and the FZ1000. Seems like more use the the F1000? Also I do hope you do more video's on the FZ1000 such as how you use it for some of us to learn. ;-)

    I am looking for an app to do remote control for night shots and transfer of images. Several apps state they work with FZ1000II, but none mention the FZ1000. Does anyone know of an app that will function with the FZ1000?

    Is it true that the auto focus is slow??

    • @photographers.life.photos
      @photographers.life.photos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Videos it is slower than modern cameras but when shooting stills it works great. I was on a bus and It hit focus on almost all the shots while in motion. My wife shoots fitness content with it and doesn't complain. In those situations it is on a tripod. Hope that helped. If you want a vid of the auto focus I could always post a short.
