    When this camera came out, Panasonic set the bar so high, that it resulted in this camera sill being relevant a decade later!

    Loved my FZ1000 over the years. Was the ultimate camera for shooting large groups of kids when my kid was in the Cub Scouts and such. That zoom sure came in handy.

    Thanks for this modern review! I bought this years ago and barely used it, but I'm happy to know it isn't obsolete for whenever i do decide to get into my photography phase.

    What an excellent review. You talked about all the things that need to be talked about and even gave sample photos and video. It's very tempting to get one though the weight is a bit of an issue.

    I've been using the FZ1000 since it came out. In some aspects a small downgrade from m43 at its best, but better in most ways: no lens changes, lighter than camera plus lenses, and sharper at the long end than any m43 lens costing less than the FZ1000 even at launch price. And not having to look for new lenses is a great money saver.
    When it comes to the balance between cost, convenience and quality, no other camera has come close, and even when pixel peeping on dpreview, it outperforms almost anything except modern system cameras.
    It's also an amazing 4K video camera that I've used for hundreds of hours of TH-cam videos.
    It was the one camera I've got that made me stop looking for an upgrade.
    I'll use it until it fails, and then I might try to find a lightly used one second hand unless something is available then that will seem like a better choice. FZ3000?

    One of my favorite cameras I own. I have three of them. Been shooting with them since 2014! I mainly use my new G95 though... but still good camera!

    I bought one of Facebook Marketplace yesterday for $50 and I already love it. I have a GH5 for video and a G85 I use for real estate photography. This FZ1000 I'm going to use for general photography. Great Video.

    Someone did comparison test with FZ1000 mkII and the mkI’s IQ better than mkII. My original FZ1000 was made in Japan. It’s quite sharp at the end of 400mm😊

    Excellent video! It is helping me narrow down what camera to take on our trip to South Africa.

  • @Horneciu

    It was very suprising, that when Panasonic announced FZ1000 mkII, the only big difference is touch screen, but also price, that jumps 2x higher or more. I bought Fz1000 oryginal 2 years ago, and it is amazing for me, that after a decade the camera is still defending itself. Also it is winning with even premium smartphones because of zoom capabilities, manual modes, iris, ergonomy and optic quality. I regret only one thing - that I didn't buy FZ1000 in 2014.

      I forgot to mention vievfinder. It will be no smartphone with this included (maybe swappable)

    Still using this after almost a decade and it still bangs! Will be getting maybe a Lumix S5 with 50mm 1.8, but will still use FZ1000 for kids stuff most likely.

    I have the Leica version of this (virtually identical), and it's all I need. I'm not a pro, just shoot for my own pleasure, and this does everything I need. I don't use video at all, and for general photography it's just super.

    I wish I bought this camera instead of the entry-level DSLR I'm using in my display photo. I'm tired of having to switch lenses.

    Started with Oly EP3 then to EM5 mk1 when it released. Picked up a used GH2 along the way as I wanted to try getting into making videos which never really did. I still use EM5 mk1 and the GH2 just chilling.

    Is range getting bigger when i shoot for example in 9 or 12 mpx in this camera? When i shoot less mpx photo in lumix fz 300 my optical zoom gets exteded from 600 mm to even more than 700 without loss of quality (i think so)

  • @davidmonroe6942

    One possibly unanticipated result of the rise of smartphones is that one doesn’t need a system camera to look like a pro. I went to the India Day Parade in NYC with my FZ1000 and a family asked me what media I was working for. I also have a 35mm outfit, but as I get older I have little desire to reach 400mm with it.

    Is it possible to screw on an ND filter? It's got a great zoom but if it can't take a filter then I couldn't use it for long exposure shot's during the day..

    • @ArukaLastRaven
      @ArukaLastRaven ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I have a FZ1000. And yes you can use a 62mm filter.
      I use ND to shoot waterfalls and the sea, and CPL to reduce reflections.

    Hi, I have the Lumix FZ1000 and have an upcoming trip to Lapland. Would anyone know if I can use this camera in extreme cold weather condition? It’s going to be average -12 degrees Celsius there. Please let me know :)

    hello. I noticed that when connecting the camera to an external monitor via HDMI it cuts the signal when the rec is activated, when pausing the signal returns. Is it her own or is there some confirmation in her that cancels this out. thanks.

    Its expensive crap even second hand costs like 400 euros, do not use it for filming, lens and stabilisation making heavy sounds picked even throught external mic shock mount, stabilisation itself is terrible, it wobbly to the point it giving headhaches when filming in motion

    • @home-space
      @home-space ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was one of the first affordable 4K cameras. The sounds it makes aren't really a problem if using an external mic or if recording audio separately. This bigger issue is it isn't 60FPS at 4K and I don't think it is stabalised at 4K. But the current MKII isn't either by the looks of it which is crazy for 2023. IMO is this still a good camera in 2023

    • @bingbong4848
      @bingbong4848 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you're that serious about filming, consider the fz2000 which is more video focused. Or if you have money, sony rx 10 is probably best. Also, consider this camera nearly a decade old. It was advanced when first released.
