    Studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the moment and preparing for an exam on materials and composites, the HAZ is one of the things we need to learn about. Thanks for the practical knowledge, makes it a lot easier to learn about!

    Great video Jeffrey. I'm a 30+ year mechanic, but brand new to welding and your video was VERY informative, especially the part showing the crystalization (looks like sand) in the steel bar. Will check out Jody's tips vids as well. Thanks!

    Hello, I have a question between welding with electrical resistance and mig which has bigger bigger HAZ?

      The welding process does not really determine the size of the HAZ, the amount of amps your putting into the material does. Other factors like material thickness, alloy of the metal you are welding and travel speed all come into play.
