I just got back into playing no man's sky since taking a break year after release. I found a planet that was discovered by you which led me to your channel! Smooth! Got my subscribe LOL
Having just got into NMS a couple weeks ago and just starting to get into base building, this is such an amazingly helpful tutorial! I had no idea you could elevate the structures like that and had never even considered building anything other than rectangular buildings! Thanks and subscribed!
I use this as a start for most of my base builds now. On one save, I went up two high on the walls and used a roof tile for creating an interesting nested circle pattern. Good stuff here!
Greetings from Spain, I find your videos very entertaining and useful, I already built this house... my houses were very boring, the typical 3x3 square house, very boring until I found you on youtube
Thanks for sharing. I expanded a bit on it. Did this and built a second one next to it 2 squares over and connected the two dome bases with a 4x7 house like base with an angular roof, but then at the end of the house like part, I rounded it off so it's kind of like a half dome on the end of the rectangle. Gonna put the dining room under that skylight. Also have a closed in porch that connects the house and the 2 domes together so I can navigate the whole base without being exposed to the elements. Have 2 stair cases leading up to the porch too so a nice open entryway. Anyways thanks again for sharing this, and try not to think too hard about what my new base looks like from a birds eye veiw.
This is an awesome tutorial for new players. I used the same process in my Ark Survival Evolved buildings and it’s cool to see that they also work in No Man’s Sky. Great Video!
I ust started playing No Man's Sky and by now, I'm at a point, where my Base got too small for all the Stuff I want to to. So I searched for some cool Base-Ideas and stumbeld across your Video. Awesome. Just awesome! I'm gonna rebuild my Base today. Keep it up, I left a Like and a Sub.
I got a lot of bases throughout the game and just discovered this channel just travelling when a planet was discovered by this channel, immediately looked it up!
I just started playing this game and I'm getting ready to build my first base. This was very simple and inspiring. Now I'm even more excited to start building! Thank you for posting this 👍👍

@@DoubleDashGaming lol, already 1 step ahead of you, thanks again. I think NMS is my next binge game, it's just so cool. Also looking forward to it :-)
I have to say, you choose a very good planet and place to make a base. The best areas are the plain ones, if you can find one, it's for the best. Elevating the base is a must, sadly they haven't made "foundations" parts for the basic parts, the fewer things you need to do to make a foundation work the better for the FPS. I love how these new parts work so well when they mesh with each other now with the clipping allowing you to build them inside of each other. I still feel there are some parts that are missing, such as another triangle floor with a more steep curve to help build better "round' structures, but I love how if you get smart, the parts will look awesome at the end. Thanks for sharing the design with us, it's nice to see how other players make their foundations when they elevate a base.
Nice suggestions. I used the half concrete wall to start with instead of full wall keeping me closer to the ground. Then after finishing the floor, I went around the building and filled the sides with concrete half walls. It looks like my building is sitting on foundations instead of being on a single cylinder. Now I have to figure out the inside :)
Bro, you just gave me a mad cool idea when you made the hexagon with a hole in the middle, put it around the tall log trees in radioactive planets of a tree and continue building up in gap sections so its like a tree house in layers! Edit: thanks for the love even after 4 months appreciate it. Dedicated TH-camr right here lol, also cool traveller!
So it sort of worked on the unbreakable swamp trees but for some reason on session get on and off they randomly move, disappear ect, so not very effective either and of course normal trees break instantly when you place a build. Cause if you so the immortal trees and they move they can clip inside your base and sometimes double layer builds, unless thats something different lol
@@dalaughinglords7602 I built an Roman style villa around a single fairly large tree, saved frequently, had to restart a few times. Last time I visited that base, the tree was where I left it, and so was the villa.
Watching this video gave me the idea to start the base but instead I used alloy building materials and the timber glass roof for the first building. I also went up one wall level higher because I noticed in your base now when I visited it, there's usually a nasty poison plant poking through near the door to the landing bays.
Like your Explorer ship I have same only Yellow. I do not like building right on the ground but also not so high off the ground. I also do not like leaving my base console outside the building which makes it even harder to get it inside. It is to bad you can not move the base console unit to where you want it. Some tricks I use to raise the building off the ground is to; make a small mound of dirt with my multi-tool and then put the Base console on it then put a floor section under the Base Console unit. Another trick is to put a short wall section on the ground and the attach a floor section onto it. When the building has varying heights off the ground I use slanted roof section attached to the building sides that go into the ground. These also provide ramps to any doors. My building so far have been very simple rectangle boxes for mining storage silos, electrical equipment and a teleport. I have figured out how to get a portal and Base console units into a modular square building but it aint easy. Placement of teleports has become a problem since the Frontiers update, since you have to stand far away to place them now. I put these down then fit the building around them, it's a trial and error development skill padawan.
Awesome tip! I'll definitely try to do this later on! Can you also show us some interior decoration as well? I'd love to watch an interior design vídeo..

Thanks so much for this lesson. I am using a version of this building for most of my utility bases where I mine minerals and gases. Most are nearby a TP or Portal. Don't you wish we could group parts together and add the group to our libraries of parts? We could just pick a preplanned building and plant it to save time.
Nice build, I like to put a foundation to hide the under side of the building. Yours is quite high so you could make a cellar like I did on one of my base builds, it was a great place to put all my storage boxes instead of having to call in my freighter base I could access all my storage, it was out of site and I would never have to go down there.
I avoid overlapping parts in building bases but they often end up looking somewhat bland, but after watching some of your how to videos in gonna have to reconsider this
