I can't recall how I stumbled on your channel, but I have been watching for a little bit now and I just wanted to say you've turned me on to the world of hot wheels modding. Very interesting to watch and the way you use your camera is fantastic. Thanks for putting in the time and finances to make these for us!
I love RK. I got to meet Dave and Mike at the Roadkill Nights event at the Tulsa Speedway a few years ago. They are awesome. I’ve built a few customs of their cars. The best looking is probably the Mazdaratti. Muscle Truck and BlaspHemi came out pretty well also. I need to do a gold roof BlaspHemi update. I’ve also made several General Lees, a couple Fall Guy trucks, and a couple of Roscoe’s patrol car. I enjoy your work. Thanks for the time and content.
Hey, I've been a big fan of yours, and after finding out that both of us are doing Roadkill models, one product I absolutely recommend is called Rustall. It comes in a little bottle and what it is is real rust. Its rusted iron dust floating around in rubbing alcohol and some kind of binding agent like a glue, and what happens is, you brush it on like paint, and when the alcohol dries, you're left with an incredible rust effect. The best results come from multiple layers on bare diecast. Also, you might want to cut that engine block in half so that it will sit lower in the car.
Yup, that's it. Right now, I'm doing a 1:18 scale replica of Stubby Bob which can be seen here: www.reddit.com/r/Roadkillshow/comments/8ruv4i/now_were_getting_somewhere/ and on my youtube channel. I've also used that stuff on my other two Roadkill cars, the General Mayhem, and the Rotsun. I bought the single bottle of the brown one at my local hobby shop for ~$5 if I remember correctly, but, it is worth it.
That sandpaper is some great stuff. I'm hunting for larger sheets and/or bigger packs. That stuff lets me put a mirror polish on a blade and sharpen them up to scalpel sharp. I'm also eyeing the 4,000-10,000 grit packs of sandpaper.
WheelsNThangs I have those same packs. That's what I used a few weeks ago to learn how to do a mirror finish on a knife. Amazon has packs that vary in the 3,000 grit and above range. I just don't know how much they'll help me yet and knives haven't started generating income yet so I have to make thought-out decisions on it. I WOULD like to see a car taken to high mirror finish before getting hit with spectraflame. I think that would require shaving all the trim and door handles off and making a smooth body. Definitely not a Redline project unless you have a junker you want to customize.
a weathered car with a brand new roof top lol either way I love your videos! cool hobby I might get into it as well with some 70's 80's 90's Matchbox's I bought at my local flea market.
It's not like a choose to be cheap. I have bills to pay, and I'm lucky if I have $40 left after my pay. I can't afford to support a multi-million dollar company with a subscription.
I was more speaking to the OP who is "mad at them" I fully understand that not everyone can afford it, but you cant expect a company to give away their product for free forever. Not to mention youtube gutting their profits didn't help any. If yo have the money and are ever skeptical about subscribing go for it, well worth the 8 bucks a month when compared to cable.
On the topic of not being able to find a die cast car with the options you want I have to say I've been looking for years for a 1969 Chevy Nova Sedan and no one makes it. The 69 Nova is so popular for the SS coupe version that no company could believe anyone would want a four door non-SS version.
Nice job knew what it was supposed to be justbfrom the thumb nail picture I hadn't thought of that I'm gong to have to dig my 69 Johnny Lightning out I know mine is the correct roof as always keep up the good work
Very cool, very nicely done. My only, for lack of a better word, complaint would be, that convertible top is still awfully new looking compared to the rest of the car. Maybe it could have been aged a little bit. But overall, really cool video.
Hey Mr.Thangs Somehow I missed this video of yours and have no idea if you will see this... Having no idea about the show you mentioned, the car looks awesome. There is a utuber who does custom dioramas and figures, called Law Creations. He has been using dollar store make up powder kits, for weathering. Take care 🙂
@@WheelsNThangs I just pass on good news to folks who are good people. It is crazy to spend so much money, if the cheaper products work just as well. Cheers MrThangs 🙂
Those wheels look great on it.
Poverty caps👍
Great custom, the Crusher Impala really is a genius car.
do the general mayhem from roadkill
oh also: this title says hot wheels but the video has nothing to do with hot wheels, so i'd change it to "Johnny lightning custom"
I'd laugh my ass off if you did a Rotsun. That thing is cursed.
@@emillkim13 yesw
I agree that would be sick

They seem like awesome guys. I'd love to see some of your customs!
There's nothing like getting a new car and tearing it apart. And doing this to it !! thanks for upload !!
I love the Roadkill show too... excellent job! I like the weathering... very realistic.
Roadkill masters of making mad max cars.

Love the stance and those wheels tucked up in the rear arches are incredible

Roadkill one of the best series ever and the impala episode the best
Love the roadkill impala and this is just fantastic. You should do a Stubby Bob custom. That'd be absolutely amazing!
Good job on all your cars and I think the idea is great remaking old cars
Awesome job! I made a Blasphemi custom not too long ago. You should try making a general mayhem custom!
Finally someone who watches roadkill
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. This is awesome! I love Roadkill. U should make a muscle truck or a mazdarati next
Great car. Also love watching roadkill. Should use the motor for a future project.
My best friend father had that car a real one we loved to go for a ride in it when we were kids
If you were my grandpa you would definitely be my favorite grandparent
Awesome job!!! The wheels look really Good on this casting...thanks for sharing 😉👍🏼👍🏼
It came out looking great! And i've seen the show as well! Nice
i had a real one when i was young 1969 with a 327 engine and a powerglide transmission , i miss that car .
This was featured on the hotrod network site amazing work 👍
I just looked. That's awesome, thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, this pack only goes up to 3k but I can see where 4-10 would be useful in sharpening. I'll have to keep an eye out!

Thank you!
I loved Roadkill. Just mad at them for quitting TH-cam.
Motor Trend tossed them behind a paywall after they got the MCM fans interested. It's not Finnegan & Freiburger's fault.
Motor trend on demand is worth every penny. Don't be cheap, support them so they can continue making quality content.

very cool custom
Do a supernatural impala
Great Build! So, if I wanted to lower the car what would you suggest? I would have lowered the front end...
This looks awesome!
I LOVE ROAD KILL
Can you make an Impala 67 Supernatural style?
Castiel Greenlight makes the Supernatural Impala
www.greenlighttoys.com/index.php?id=392
Ken B I want a customization of it.
Why?
You don't drive an Impala
Don't you drive an Olds?
Castiel that’s what I said,
I lovvvvve Roadkill so much that's awesome
awesome, it looks great!! I've done a General mayhem custom!
I'd love to see it!

doesn't watch much TV, *Ends up on Velocity* still an amazing video. would love to meet you in real life and do an interview.
Ha! I really don't, they are the ones that contacted me. Thanks for watching!
WheelsNThangs thanks for the likes and for replying to me.
Cool, it would be neat if you do the MCM Ute
Not trying to be a jerk but the crusher impala does have a good now... great video though... look forward to all of the new ones
Nice car, wheatering and tires are great, but i guess that you should whatering the top also, regards
I love it man keep up the great work
You should do the Stubby Bob because it is interesting
Very talented my friend
Should have made the top "dirty" so it would match the age you gave the car with the rust. Just a idea, your videos are cool.
I've on,y seen a couple of road kill episodes, I'll have to check them out, nice job on the impala though 👍
Do the Blasp-Hemi? From Roadkill?
the new wheels look much better
Cool re-do!!
It looks great but I would make like a plastic air scoop and add the roadkill on the side
5:43 That’s The Camaro Freiburger Has the “F BOMB” Camaro Why don’t you make that one
Cómo siempre dejando unos excelentes trabajos, 👍👍

Mr. TIm, that is a great tip! Never thought of that. Basically that's what the high priced Tamiya set is.
