If anyone has questions i can help. Also, boots and bar, and kafos are NOT the only option. My son has the cunningham brace. He does have bcf, but for kiddos with only one clubbed foot, the Cunningham brace is separate for each leg/foot. So if your babe has one clubbed foot, you only need one brace. Most drs are still only doing the same boots and bar method theyve had since the 70s. Most drs are unwilling to seek other options. Find a new dr if thats the case. This is the link to the brace my son uses:
I have a 1 year old baby who wears these braces, but currently he can't wear them because some nails that hold the braces tight to the shoes have gone out and I struggle to get the new ones, I don't know their names and dimensions. So may you kindly share the name of the nails that are used to make bracing. Your help is highly appreciated.
I wore the Denis Browne brace until kindergarder in the early 60s. I had a club foot, a forward tortion of the hip and scholiosis. I now suffer constant lower back, hip, foot and knee pain. The pain is chronic. Im not sure if I would have had less pain throughout me life without this treatment but I suffer every moment of every day and night now in pain. I am 62 years old and am disabled. This proceedure did not help.
The lady putting on the boots isn't doing it properly - the tongue should not be placed in the middle but rather be placed so that it is held down by the top and middle straps. It should never touch the bottom strap. This is how MD Orthopedics shows as proper placement. After the middle strap is placed, the tongue should be pulled away from the buckle to fully straighten out the material so as to avoid a "pinch" that can happen at the buckle area.
the number of buckels (so how much you close) has to be symmetrical between right and left foot? (My son's right feet fits better if I close the central one on hole number 6 , the left foot I can close up to 7th hole)
A 16 year old my nephew, can't walk and stand alone since birth. is there a chance that he can can walk using bars or braces and how much is the cost? By the way i am from philippines
If you don't have money or insurance they still give you thr treatment and whatever you need, they won't stop helping you because of money, I usted take my daughter there and saw even people out of the country being treated, , you shoul call them
People, these braces are straight up torture. If your child sits on the floor, with their feet in an upside down W...that is nature's way of fixing this. The brace induces Charlie horses so unimaginable, your worst fears could not conjure an idea of it. The cramp will start with your baby's arch, then slowly move up the ankle, inner knee, pubic bone and lower back, and it will not stop, and they can't fix it. If you must use this gimmick, do it ONLY WHEN YOUR CHILD IS AWAKE AND WITH YOU, and if they scream...take it off. Then, be a parent. Before a nap and bedtime...massage the limb from hip to toes with warm oil. Let your fingers tell you where the kink is, and gently manipulate the muscles and tendons. I went through this as a child, and all it taught me to do is silent scream, silent cry, until I passed out.
lmao what are you talking about? i had casts, the boots and bar and braces until was 8. they dont hurt and my clubfoot was severe. you should never take the braces or boots off as it will most likely make it worse. if the baby is crying you should give them painkiller and leave them in the braces so the child can get used to them.
@JinxKiziiii_ stg I saw this same dude comment the same thing on another video, don't know why they're trying to spread misinformation 🤦🏽♀️ you gave much better advice
