After the middle strap is placed, the tongue should be pulled away from the buckle to fully straighten out the material so as to avoid a "pinch" that can happen at the buckle area.

I wore the Denis Browne brace until kindergarder in the early 60s. I had a club foot, a forward tortion of the hip and scholiosis. I now suffer constant lower back, hip, foot and knee pain.
