- Well folks, IT FINALLY HAPPENED! For this first Saturday of the month, I decided to go to the very south part of North Carolina to record one of Cleveland county’s sirens. I’ve been planning this trip for SO LONG! And as you can see, IT WORKED OUT! So for this first Saturday of the month, I chose the Equinox, because I believe this is the only Equinox in North Carolina, and I wanted to record my first rotational chopper siren. So four hour drive later, YES four hours (Thanks Dad), we arrive in Kingstown and wait for the announcement which I never expected them to do. Well, they did it. I mean you got to have some way of notifying the department of what is happening. After all the tones do get sent from the main dispatch frequency. Fun fact, Cleveland county actually moved to a Project 25 Phase I system. I’m not sure if they are still on the VIPER (Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders) system, which is also on Phase 1, since they transitioned to their own Phase I system. Anyways, yes as you saw, the siren did go off. I actually didn’t expect it to go off since it was raining when I left my house, but instantly cleared up as we got to North Carolina.
Well enjoy the video!

Federal signal should push these as their budget model rather than the 2001
Actually, an Equinox is Quieter than a 2001-130.

look at the specifications
I would have gone here with you if I had moved to NC. There are also 2 equinoxes in Minnesota now. Both are in Redwood County. One is in Belview, and the other is in Sanborn. The one in Sanborn was installed a few weeks ago replacing a screamer. The one in Belview replaced a 10v a few years ago. Also was the first test of wash co in 2024 today.
Not only would you have came here to Cleveland county if you moved here to NC, you could also join us and the SC crewe to record some sirens in northern SC.
hey im that siren based of the tsm show but I'm painted blue for some reason
Awesome!

It looks like 2001-130 but sounds like 508.
This is basically a prototype 508.
It's basically the predecessor of the 508-128. It's not a 2001. It uses an 8-port rotor and stator rather than 12 port. That explains the lower pitch.
@@IHeartAGM The equinox is a 2001 type siren, as it is referred as a 2001-equinox. You are correct that it is 8 port. It's pretty much a prototype, since the 508 was released in 2011, and the equinox was released in 2010.
And fs eclipse
Same port ratio of Fs Eclipse and 508
Awesome
Ressemble au 2001 130
je sais droit?
Veary long DTMF
Incorrect, this siren is not activated by DTMF. Instead it is activated by Motorola QuikCall II, while other sirens are activated by 6 second two tone.
