Unfortunately no. However Christopher Newport and Old Dominion university might test their sirens during the tornado drill in March. And Emporia tests both of their STH-10s at 11 AM for their tornado drill. There aren't any siren tests in Norfolk, and these are the tests I could think of. Also, i'm headed to Emporia for the tornado drill.

same here. I got 2.5 inches yesterday. The NWS remained firm on not issuing a Winter Weather Advisory for my area, but schools went remote in my area yesterday, so they don't have to make it up since it wasn't technically a snow day. I'm still on Winter Break until January 22, so the closures did not apply to me.

@ yeah, schools were closed and roads got a bit icy at times but that didn’t stop my college from not closing.

Sorry, I don't do requests. The siren is actually a standard Fedelcode Model 2. Wake county banned fire sirens a long time ago, so i'm not too sure on what the siren is currently used for.

@CentralVirginiaEAS it might be used as a flood siren because their is a dam near that location

@@mikemabe4942 It's most likely connected to a switch inside the fire station, so I don't think it's active. If I get a chance one day, if anyone is at the station, i'll try asking one of the members.

Nice! You might want to start out with a GMRS license, theres no test, and one license is good for 10 years for the whole family.

@CentralVirginiaEAS Yup am going to get one probably today, the only downside with GMRS is that there are only 22 channels where as HAM you can use a TON of bands and make contacts on them where GMRS is used for more recreational use and not really for using things like repeaters and doing long distance contacts like ham.

@@SirensOfTheMidwest There are 8 repeater channels for GMRS. The frequency for the repeater channel is an offset of +5 MHz from the main frequency.
