      This is so cute! My aunt was once standing in line with my cousin when he was two years old. She was one of those "cool moms" who gave my cousin a faux hawk, dyed his tips red, etc. On that day she had also put some sunglasses on my cousin. Keanu Reeves was right in front of them in line. He saw my cousin and kept calling him a "cool little dude". He talked to my cousin and my aunt for like 15 minutes. My aunt was so shocked by the whole thing that she didn't think to ask him to take a picture. She still regrets it to this day lol.

      People like to forget that they're human just like the rest of us and have bad days. Everyone acts like they're perfect but are lucky that someone isn't around to record them or tell stories about every single encounter they have throughout their lives. Some celebrities are indeed jerks, but a lot are just stressed and tired of being hounded constantly, no matter where they are and never really get any privacy and have to be 100% perfect all the time or they'll get trashed by people on the internet.

    I was once security guard in a private party in Miami beach where Paris Hilton attended (I was the guy in the front who got her ticket). Honestly, she seemed liek a completely normal person, she spent the party in a couch talking with some friends and generally being a woman having fun, no scenes or anything.
    One of the other securoty guards wanted to take a selfie with her even though our bosses specifically told us we couldnt talk to celebrities, he didnt care though and talked to her, instead of him getting a selfie with her, SHE got a selfie with him (Boss cant fire him for that, heh).
    On a funny note, Paris Hilton has an assistant who carries a small pocket lamp to properly illuminate her when someoen takes a selfie with her, Lol.

      Was at an acting school in New York city. One of my classmates once worked as an extra on House of Cards. They were shooting a scene where they were a cheering crowd for one of Frank's entrances. The AD gives the crowd instructions for three takes of everyone loudly cheering and then mime it on the fourth take so Kevin could do his fourth wall monologue. Comes to the fourth take and everyone mimes except one woman. Cut. Do it again. And this woman still loudly cheers. The moment they cut, in front of everyone, Kevin walks right up to this woman and yells "Either learn how to count or get the fuck out!" Now, yes she was not listening and being frustrating, but that's the 3rd AD's job to inform her, not his.
      Two to three months later after hearing this story was when the whistle was blown on him.

    Surprised Eddie Murphy isn't on here. he made his tourguide at Universal cry. And his second assistant isn't allowed to talk to him. If Murphy, his assistant, and his second assistant all sat in a room, the conversation would go like this:
    2nd assistant: (1st assistant), can you ask Mr. Murphy if he'd like a coke?
    1st assistant: Mr Murphy, would you like a coke?
    Eddie Murphy: Tell him no
    1st assistant: no
    and this is with all of them being right next to each other

    This happened to my sister's friend and I heard it from my sister, so it all could be a bunch of second-hand bullcrap, but this is one of the few in-person celebrity counters that I know about.
    The area that we live in was one that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Gardner would vacation in when they were married. My sister's friend worked in a cafe near the place they usually stayed at. Ben Affleck came in and ordered a couple of coffees and a few other snacks. My sister's friend completed the order, but apparently, she got one thing wrong and Affleck lost his shit. He proceeded to go on a tirade and yell at the girl, saying he wouldn't leave a tip. After a couple minutes, Jennifer Gardner came in to see what was taking so long and she was absolutely aghast at his behavior. She told him off right then and there, saying "that's not the way to treat anyone, especially someone that's serving you!" Affleck then walked out and Gardner proceeded to pay for the food and drinks, giving my sister's friend an extra big tip. I'm glad Gardner's not with him anymore. From what I've heard she really is a nice lady and really deserves better than that dipshit.

    • @difficultbastard
      @difficultbastard 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @Doug Smithart There's a few names that seem to pop up in different celebrity butthole lists, and Affleck is one of them. It's not concrete evidence, but it's damning when multiple sources, for different encounters, seem to light on the same names. For instance, Michael Bay has popped up quite a few times, as well as chevy chase. Then there's how he reacted on the Bill Maher show, where he just completely flies off the handle, and becomes unreasonable to another guest's opinion.

    • @ontherockswithsalt560
      @ontherockswithsalt560 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Affleck is an alcoholic. That is no excuse but of all addictions it seems that alcohol is the one that causes delusions of grandeur and the inability to take responsibility for anything.
      Jennifer Garner was a mommy for Ben. JLo dumped him because he's a wimpy, soft liberal twit. Everytime I see the clip of him calling the other guests on the show he was on racists I die of seconhand embarrassment. If he had the chance he'd sell his own daughters off for arranged marriage, but not until he made sure they had their female organ mutilated. Because it's horribly racist to go against Middle Eastern culture. No matter how barbaric.

Only celebrity I ever met was Mr. T at the height of his A-Team fame (I was a kid at the time) and he was a true gentleman. My mother also met him and she was impressed by his kindness. Given that my mom isn't impressed by much of anyone, celeb or not, this is saying something. I wish I could have met Lemmy though. A shame hearing about that with Will Smith. My grandmother used to work for Columbia Pictures in NY and he was there often when he was in movies like Men in Black, Ali, and Hancock. She said that Will was always very nice to her and knew her on a first-name basis.
    Also here's a funny/wholesome story. Sean Connery was visiting someone at the building one day to talk about a movie (I think it was Finding Forrester). She was about serve the two of them tea when she tripped right in front of them, breaking her wrist and burning her hand from the hot tea. While other people went out to get my grandmother medical help, Sean Connery stayed by her side the whole time, talking with her to comfort her. She said that Sean was the perfect gentleman and practically swept her off her feet from the short time he was with her.

      I used to drive a wheelchair van (taking people to their doctor appointments, etc.) and one of my regulars was a guy who had several framed and autographed photos of himself with Willie Nelson. It turns out that the guy had been a roadie for Willie Nelson years ago. He said that Willie was the nicest, most down to earth person he ever worked for. It didn't matter what your job on the tour was, he treated you with respect and it wasn't the "formal respect that a VIP shows an underling because it's expected" but a genuine friendliness of one human being to another and, of course, he was always happy to blaze up with you.

      Jacob Kohr Conan is a bit of a mixed bag. He's very smart (Harvard) and slightly neurotic. He also came up on another Redditor post for being a rude celebrity, and I've actually witnessed this for myself in one of his videos (it was a livestream during one of his remotes which one of his staff members was hosting, and Conan appeared visibly irate and straight up told him off for yelling).
      Yet there are also other accounts of him being nice. Look up a former producer for the Tonight Show and Late Night on Quora, who said Conan was always very nice to him during his time with Team Coco (which was about 7-8 months). I think by and large Conan is a fairly nice guy who probably gets on a short leash when he's stressed. And his job is pretty stressful. His show on TBS is apparently on declining viewership. Explains why he's had to scale them back to half hour slots now.

      I always keep an eye out for people who seem too nice, because those are often some of the worst people you'll come across.
      On the bright side, Mr. Rogers by all accounts was almost every bit as nice and wholesome as his image. The worst I heard was that he was once sorta snarky when a camera man screwed up and ruined about 5 hours worth of filming, but even then it was less of a blow up and more like "I hope you'll learn from this so you don't waste everyone's time again".
      That's by far the worst thing I have ever heard anyone say about him.

I was a huge fan of Jeff Dunham and had a lot of DVDs of his performances. My father took me to a convention in Kentucky with him one year, I think it was 2009, and I met Jeff there. Nicest guy you’d ever meet. Gave me an autograph for free and also signed Peanut, Walter and Achmed’s names as well.
    Later that day I ran into him in the hotel hallway since we were staying in the same hotel and he caught my attention by calling out my name and said hey to me. 11/10 man. He made my entire year that day.

Just said "You are Daryl Strawberry aren't you? He says "Yes I am. What is your name?" Told him. Said it was nice to meet him and to enjoy your dinner. Very brief conversation. Nothing crazy. As I am walking out he points and goes..."I really like your hat" in a sarcastic joking manner. Had my Cardinal hat on haha. Nice guy.

      This is my understanding of Axl;
      Start with this, from wiki:
      "On August 8, 1992, during the co-headlining Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour, Hetfield suffered second and third degree burns to his arms, face, hands, and legs. There had been some confusion with the new pyrotechnics setup, which resulted in Hetfield walking into a 12-foot (3.7 m) flame during "Fade to Black". Newsted said Hetfield's skin was "bubbling like on The Toxic Avenger".[51] Metallica returned to the stage 17 days later with guitar technician and Metal Church member John Marshall replacing Hetfield on guitar for the remainder of the tour, although Hetfield was able to sing"
      Now let's pull it together with what happened *after* that....
      "The most infamous event during the tour took place during a show on August 8, 1992 at Montreal's Olympic Stadium. Metallica frontman James Hetfield suffered second and third degree burns to the left half of his body, both arms and left hand after standing in the way of a pyrotechnics reaction during the opening of "Fade to Black". Hetfield himself has said "There were extra pyro in addition to the original pyro and I got too close the original pyro." Metallica had to prematurely end their performance, but promised to return to the city for another show. After a lengthy delay, during which the audience became increasingly upset and restless, Guns N' Roses took the stage. However, the shortened time between sets did not allow for adequate tuning of stage monitors, resulting in musicians not being able to hear themselves. In addition, Rose, claimed that his throat was hurt, causing the band to prematurely leave the stage themselves. The early departure led to a riot by audience members, reminiscent of the rioting that had occurred during a Guns N' Roses show near St. Louis, Missouri one year earlier. The aggrieved audience members took to the streets of Montreal, overturning cars, smashing windows, looting local stores, and setting fires. Local authorities were barely able to bring the riot under control. Footage from the debacle was later included in the 1992 documentary A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica. "
      Basically Axl had the chance to save the day.... and caused a riot instead. In Canada. Axl caused a riot *IN CANADA*.

    I've got an example of the opposite of these people. I've seen Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi on Star Trek: TNG) interviewed and she was almost in tears explaining that her fans were extremely important to her and she treated them accordingly because (I'm paraphrasing) "Without them she would be nothing". She said she care for them deeply and would never take them for granted. That's the attitude most should have. If the little people didn't pay to see celebrities, they would be nothing - we make them what they are and I think too many people forget that.

Then he got big smile, and talked to Howie. He asked Howie what he was doing on the set. On the set, the celebrity looked Howie up, and talked to him. Then he invited Howie to come down to this Island where he staying on the weekend. The celebrity said he cover it. Howie tells his wife, they are going to spend the weekend with the celebrity. All during the weekend, the celebrity is very nice. They eat together, go places. Howie is amazed how nice the guy is. They come back, and Howie find he is fired, and is escorted off the set. He goes home to tell his wife he lost his job. Once home, Howie's wife says she got a bill for twenty thousand dollars. It's the cost of staying on the island with the celebrity. Howie said he, and his wife broke down and cried. The celebrity almost ruined his life. Later, Howie whould tell what happened to him during his stand up routine. After he got famous, he got a sis and disist order from the celebrity. Every Howie stop using the story in his act, or he would be sued. All of this over, "I love your movies."

    Weird... My experience with Andy Dick was a little different. 12 years ago, I was security at a Vegas strip club (with strippers) and he came in with an entourage. Then he walked over to me and drunkenly (yet politely) asked me in the most stereotypical Andy Dick voice cadence "Excuse me, do you know where the bathroom is?" I pointed to it and told him that he'd actually passed it to ask me that. We both had a quick chuckle and he said thanks. Then went in there.
    The DJ at the time was kind of a rocker guy with long hair. Apparently, he was at one of the urinals and Andy Dick was trying to talk to him, but like in an amorous way. The DJ asked him if he knew he was in a guy's restroom, thinking that the long hair may have been throwing him... Even though he was standing at a urinal. Apparently he's bi or something. Which I didn't know at the time. In any case, the DJ ziped up and bounced without washing his hands. The guy who compressed air sprays and disinfectant wipes the whole DJ booth down before he starts his shifts.
    The restroom attendant confirmed the DJ's anecdote... And added that Andy Dick then spent the next 45 minutes in one of the stalls, snorting his ass off. To this day, over a decade later, another security guy and I use "Andy Dick" as a euphemism for coke. Like when we worked security at a club on the Strip, he'd hit me up on the radio like "Hey, I have a party at table three and they're wondering whether you knew if Andy Dick was coming."

      As an American citizen, I had to look some of them up too because I couldn't remember who they were. I really could not recall for the life of me who Chevy Chase was, and I kinda feel dumb about it. lol

    I unfortunately come to realize that majority of the English VA's for Dragonball are assholes and really don't care all that much about the fans D:
    on another note Lucie Pohl is an absolute sweet heart and is ever so lovely.

      You meet Vic by any chance? Asking cause of the recent news of him being fired and stuff. Not too surprised tbh, Sean for example I remember saw a vid where he was fine with TeamFourStar but would later trash them (maybe from pressure by Toei/Fun)

    Sorry - every time I've been around William Shatner, he's been nothing but kind. Sometimes he may seem a bit tired (the man is aging, give him a break!), and he has an extremely quick sense of humour with a fascinating level of intelligence. Love that man.

    my dad and his friend were in la for the jimmy kimmel show a long time ago and lawrence fishburne was scheduled to be on the show. my dad and his friend both had passes to go into the greenroom and hang out with the celebs before the show. my dad spoke to jo frost (supernanny) and she was drunk out of her mind, but super sweet. then he went to talk to lawrence fishburne and I guess he just ignored my dad and walked off without a word.

    Best Celebrity interaction - Vic Mignogna, that guy truly loves to meet his fans.
    Worst - Not my interaction but I was at a convention that John Cusack was at and he made it blatantly clear he didn't want to be there.

      She's actually really nice. Two of my friends were invited to her house and the and a group of others listened to her album before it was released. Taylor took pictures with everyone and spent a lot of time with them individually, mostly up to an hour. She also baked them cookies.

    Throughout the course of my life I have met a few celebrities (athletes and musicians primarily) and for the most part they were all pretty chill. One thing I caught on to pretty quickly is celebrities are much quicker to be nice and chatty with you so long as you don't freak out over meeting them. Of the dozen or two that I've met, a few of them were nice enough to low key compliment /thank me for not getting overly excited, screaming, making a scene, and causing a ruckus. I can't say I'd blame them though, that'd have to get old after a while.

    Had a beer with Collin Ferrell while he was shooting "new world". Such a classy guy, invited anyone to sit with him. Fun fact he wore his pjs to the bar when asked why he responded because they are comfortable.

    I served Alec Baldwin coffee when I was a barista at a little coffee shop in Boulder, CO and he tipped me $5. He did buy literally every pastry in the case and called me “beautiful”, so I guess that was kind of cool.
    This was before I knew about that horrendous phone call to his daughter where he called her a pig. Either way, I didn’t act starstruck or treat him like any other customer, and always wondered if he appreciated that or if it annoyed him?
