I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis in 2015. I've been through several flares, with one of them being really bad. The highest calprotectin test I ever had was 420 ug/g and the lowest I ever had was 129 which was from a test I just recently took this week. The previous test was the 420 value I mentioned. I am also taking Mesalamine. What I did to reduce it was to stop eating processed sugar, and gluten, and to highly reduce dairy and red meat intake, since all of these things are highly inflammatory to your body, especially the gut. I also try not to take NSAIDs unless I absolutely have to since those are also bad for the digestive track as far as inflammation goes. I also take a medical food pro-biotic called Visibiome. VSL#3 is also similar.
My last bad flare was in Summer 2019 and haven't had a bad flare since. I had a mild one early in 2022 but it was super mild with mostly no discomfort, this was before I put in place the diet I mentioned above. Since I've been on the diet I mentioned (since early November 2022) I've had no problems and things have been super normal. Since they keep stating that there is no cure, I had to figure things out on my own, and I feel like IBD is caused by a number of factors that all combine to create these diseases and inflammation. Obviously I'm not a Doctor but I feel like if you take steps to reduce inflammation in your body as much as you can, and maintain a healthy gut it can't hurt, and in my case it has helped.

I have celiac disease as a Seronegative, with a Marsh 3b atrophy.
I have been tested with a new endoscopy and they found plasma cells, with eosinophils and with a rare form if neutrophils.
I have calprotein tested lately and my values were 70.
I am going through some special test for a a refractory celiac disease diagnosis.
Do you think that my plasma cells are due to possible contamination ( ema, iga and ttg negative) or die to another illness such ibd ? Thanks

Is it possible to have a calprotectin borderline elevated score of 66 with minimal mucus w occasionally blood 6mo. (previously diagnosed internal Hemorrhoid) and not have IBD But actually IBS or something else raising calprotectin?

I’ve been struggling with feeling extremely sick. My ferritin came back at a 3, iron binding elevated hemoglobin and hematocrit low.
My neutrophils to lymphocytes ratio was awful being 74.4% to 14.1%. I’ve been sent for urgent infusion by my woman hasn’t felt better.
Now calp level came back 65, everything I read said it points to cancer. My bowel habits have developed the feeling of being incomplete and thin, very upset about all of this 😩
