Awesome! I believe that same model the (first bus in the vlog) in the first TMNT movie that came out in 1990. Casey Jones was driving and her and the turtles where leaving her apartment cause it was on fire from the foot.

I actually think the best sounding starters are Honda ones. They used that style for decades.

You could put some plywood over the floor holes but actual patch panels would be cheaper now days. Great to see it moving. Nice to see DubWerks show up for comic relief. None of us actually drive this old stuff, we just continually work on it. Looking forward to another video soon!
Yabba-dabba-doo! I bet it wouldn't go up the hill where I live, From here to town there' are a few long 13 degree grade hills. Looks more like a roller coaster than a road.

Reason for the carb riser. Maybe it was to add torque to the engine. Longer intake makes more torque.

Ohhh man!! I’m glad I don’t live in quite such a rust belt, but we get our fair share! I was looking at building another C10, maybe a 72 if I can find one, but they have been picked over pretty seriously in this area,,,,,,, may have to deal with rockers and cab corners,,,,,, I will replace the rest with NOS or re-pops. Ughhhhh rustttttt,,,,,,,, !!!!!!!
It was handy that you could see through the floor to notice the wheel was loose!!! Haha. Maybe just put plexiglass for floorboards!! That’ll be a great way to freak out your passengers!!!

The hirise carb adapter helps it to clear newer types of alternators.
When swapping to various model carbs, occasionally you'll run into an issue where the carb's accelerator pump arm will contact the generator/alternator. That's probably the reason for that carb riser you had.
👍, without it the idle shut off is real close to the generator
Hey buddy! Did ya see my latest video? I got my bug runnin’!!!! Sorted out the wiring mess, needs rear torsion bushings and retainer plates, shifter rod bushing and coupler… a few adjustments and checks, brakes, timing, clutch… ah the joys of old cars!

The carb "riser" occupied the space where an optional speed governor was fitted. Buses that were sold to businesses often had the governor fitted so drivers wouldn't "over-rev" the engine

Having direct cab access to that wheel will be important if your brake shoes end up having to be your actual shoes. Bet getting it driving was a huge morale boost. Time for valve adjustment, brakes, and then to park it back in the hedge row. But seriously i'd like to see a few more vids on this one. It's a wonder what a nice rebuilt carb will do towards getting something running.
Probably a good carb will get almost anything running...😉
@@vayabroder729 It seems to be the most common problem. Ignition systems either work or they don't. A bad carb will kinda work to varrying levels, may not work at all, etc. It's just a big hassle. lol.

I seem to recall that belt squeal being an option. My Power Wagon used to do the same thing even after I put on new belts and made sure everything was lined up properly. By changing the level of fluid in the power steering pump it will change the tone of the squeal and someone with experience and fast reflexes could be a one man and an old Dodge band.

They'll both be fine w/just a little TLC....and flushed out fuel tanks, new fuel lines & filters & rebuilt carbs. Have you got a name for the Dodge yet? Btw, you might want to get new battery cables for the Dodge - the ones "current"- ly on there seem just a touch sketchy :)
The high rise is usually needed on early engines as the carb clearance is needed

My old 66 camper had a governer under the carb, that is a spacer to keep the carb at the same hight for the throtle cable.
