I think this is the best Superman figure 6-inch. I never got the original not going for 130. I like the reissue better, I'm looking forward to getting it.
Thanks for the comparison. I have the 1st release and I'm lucky to have a good paint job on mine. I did notice the 2nd releases had more blue highlights on the hair. Also I never noticed the missing lines on the s on the back of the cape. I'm perfectly fine with mine.
Honestly, I got the original, and I'm glad that there is a reissue of it so more people can get it. I feel like the small fixes aren't worth buying another sample to buy though.
Definitely. I was really surprised that Mafex reissued their highly sought-after Boba Fett figures since those came out years ago, but I’m so glad that they did!
6:53 Even John Byrne hates that, though partly because of his colour impairment. Which is why he was able to give Lois brunette hair but had to retain Superman's blue highlights.
This Mafex Hush line is my favorite line of figures I think ever... It's the only line that has ever made me want to collect the entire thing, even if I didn't have a connection or love for every character. I have wanted great figures of Jim Lee's designs for years, and so far each figure I've gotten from the line is the new definitive version for my shelf.
Be nice if Mafex does a classic Superman based on the late and great George Perez art! I'd take that over the JL version. I'd love and entire Perez based Justice league team from the satellite era!
Thanks for this awesome comparison. I’m looking for one on the 2nd market, any idea how to differentiate them from the box ? usually compressed jpg aren’t easy to examine… :/ any serial number to look for ? Barcode ? How to spot knock-off as well ? Cheers !
Surprised you didn’t mention that the alternate hands in the reissue come with those clear pegs inserted in the holes to keep right and left hands together while the original keeps all the hands separate. It’s an easy way to distinguish between the 2 versions when the boxes are sealed.

I wish I got the reissue. I have the original and hate the proportions of it as well as the cape. The original's head looks so small because of the slightly oblong body type. Reissue looks so much better. Dang it!!
