Hi there! Actually, adjectives that end in -y, -le, -ow, and -er can use either "more" or "-er" to form the comparative and "most" or "-est" to form the superlative. Although, we sometimes use one form more than the other (for example, "narrower" is more common than "more narrow," whereas "simpler" and "more simple" are both common). Hope that helps!

Are such words as "fun" adjectives? What would you say in case of a word like "stupid"? In both cases, I had once learned to use "more" and "the most" ln the comparitive forms, although these word s are on the brief side. Would that be correct? For example, I would refrain from comparitives such as "funner" and "stupider". Or say "bitterer" or "the bitterest".
Adjectives in their comparative and superlative forms such as "good" and "bad" are called irregular. And no, neither would I (usually) say "the bestest".
Anyway, I comply with the example with "modern", but what could be the rule it is an exception in English, some people could say. In Dutch and German, the regulation is different...

However if I want to say: She is less nice than I am. In this case "nice" is not a long adjective. Can I say less nice, less hot an so on?
