I've still got some fine tuning to do with it myself. Their welders have been consistent for me and I've gotten very comfortable running them. I'm excited to see what this machine can do when I get the pulse features dialed in.
It's pretty fun getting to play around with these new welding machines and show what they can do compared to some of the high end machines out there. Videos like these helped me get started choosing a machine and getting going with welding!
I started to play around with the pulse and double pulse on this machine but I wasn't getting consistent results so I'm waiting to hear back from YesWelder's team to get it dialed in and post a video with more info.
This machine definitely runs a spray transfer arc. The other YesWelder MIG machine I run does too and you can really control the distance from the filler to where it spray transfers, makes seeing the arc and weld pool much easier!!
lol! Wouldn’t that be a pain?!? No, they’re great about including everything you need to hook up and run. Same situation with the other MIG welder I have from them, even included the graphene liner which is a huge help. Most companies would charge extra!
MIG is where you’re getting gas, filler material, and arc happening all at once. Simple form of welding that can create strong and clean welds. Not always the prettiest option, but it gets the job done!
@@H00K-KING Happy to test that out for you. Next time at the metal shop I'll grab some scrap stuff and see what I can do. If knowing I need something sealed up air/water tight my go to with aluminum is usually TIG welding it, but this will be a good test!
@@tomspontoons Yes, I'm very curious about this too, I sent the $30 deposit and just got the email to purchase at up to 48% off, trying to talk myself into pulling trigger so to speak...EDIT, I did see on another TH-cam channel they stated that you do need 220 to use the pulse, I actually just bought the machine and plan on upgrading my panel to add a 220 outlet, it's actually not very difficult, stay safe! ⚡⚡⚡
@@skylark4901 I've been very happy with their machines and the quality welds they can lay in. I'm excited to see how the final product performs. At that price point it's worth the investment for sure!
I'm actually set up in the kick starter to receive one of these when they get ready to ship in November, I think, but I recently received an email stating that they created upgraded software that would allow pulse mode with 120v, apparently it's free to install after you receive the machine, as I understand it. I'm actually not sure if this is the machine that I want, still trying to figure that one out. 👍
@@skylark4901 It's a pretty darn cool machine for MIG, especially for someone who wants to explore aluminum with some confidence. I still played with the settings on mine to get it just right for running aluminum MIG, and it ran my spool gun great too. Been using all their machines for the current 15' aluminum boat I'm building!
I will keep this machine forever or until it gives up. They have started the pre-order phase of their DP200 at Yeswelder.com. I'm not sure when they plan to ship them, but hopefully it's soon!
I just reviewed this welder but I haven't tried aluminum welding yet. Great welds!

I love attending Tom’s Shop Classes!! 😁

What about dual pulse? Looks like you had too much fun playing with it to actually get to the DP mode.

That would be more of a spray arc it's what it looks like to me when you let off the trigger...

“Cables not included” once it hits the market lmao

Nice video. Never welded, and definitely never heard of mig welding aluminum. Very interesting.

Can you do a video welding aluminum tube/pipe with it?
Just a tube/pipe seam joining two pieces? I haven't tackled that yet, but will definitely give it a try in my next video!
@@tomspontoons yeah like a butt joint. I need to weld some intercooler piping and wanted to know if it would work or not

I heard it has to be on a 220-240 plug to activate the pulse option. Hope it helps.
That sounds familiar, but I’ll be sure to clarify when I share a video showing the pulse capabilities! Thank you!

amazing to see the quality without a spool gun
The regular MIG gun is WAY more comfortable than a spool gun to run!!!
Wouls you consider selling your dp200. ?

C4 TT!
Thank you!
