      I'm so sorry but since we don't plan weddings for court ceremonies, we are unfamiliar with them. We wish you all the best and hope your ceremony is everything you dream!

    Great video! Can you get married the day you pick up your marriage license? Or do you have to wait 24 hours?

      Hi Mary Am! You don't need to wait 🙂. Once you have the pink paper, you are all set to get married!

    If divorced many years ago, do we need to bring a divorce decree?

    • @aperfectdayhi
      @aperfectdayhi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You shouldn't as long as your divorce was more than 30 days prior 🙂. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

    I lost my performers info but I want to be a licensed marriage performer for Hawaii how do I do that?

    • @aperfectdayhawaii
      @aperfectdayhawaii ปีที่แล้ว

      My apologies Bruce but as I don't perform ceremonies, I'm not familiar with the process for you to do so. My recommendation is to contact the Department of Health and maybe someone there can assist you. They might even be able to look up your misplaced info :-). Best Wishes!

    I just have a really quick question regarding picking up a Marriage License. So, by the time we pick up our marriage license and before we finalize everything, is it still possible to make changes on the application like for example changing the declared last name? Or whatever was typed in online application is already considered as final when picking up?

    • @aperfectdayhi
      @aperfectdayhi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jonaliza! My understanding is that you CAN still make a change to your legal name up until your actual wedding date. Your licensed Officiant will need to be informed as it will be up to them to correctly file your "new" legal name. Please keep in mind that this is based on what I know as of today so please feel free to ask this very important question to the agent to see in person when you pick up the actual document as they will be able to tell you for sure (and closer to your actual wedding date so there will be less chance of any policy changing).

    ALOHA KELLY.
    I AM AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN, AND MY FIANCE IS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN, LIVING IN FLORIDA.
    WE ARE WANTING TO FINALLY " TIE THE KNOT " SO TO SPEAK, AND WE HAVE BOTH GOT OUR HEARTS SET ON A VERY SMALL , BEACH, OR WATER WEDDING ( ON A BOAT).
    WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE DATE WE SHOULD GET MARRIED, WE WERE THINKING, " THE 20TH OF OCTOBER 2022".
    WOULD THIS BE TOO MUCH OF A RUSH FOR US ,TO GET TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND FILL OUR FORMS OUT ?????, OR SHOULD WE WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER????. "
    I KNOW THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED, AND ANSWERED ABOVE, BUT BEING AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN, AND I HAVE BEEN DIVORCED FOR A LONG TIME, WILL I NEED TO BRING AN " ORIGINAL COPY" ,OF MY DIVORCE PAPERS???????.
    ALSO, WHAT TYPE OF " VISA " WOULD I HAVE TO OBTAIN, TO TRAVEL OVERSEAS TO HONOLULU TO GET MARRIED??????,, OR IS THAT NOT RELEVANT??????.
    MY FIANCE WOULD MEET ME IN HAWAII, AND I WOULD FLY IN FROM AUSTRALIA, ON THE SAME DAY, HOW LONG , BEFORE WE GET MARRIED, SHOULD WE BE THERE IN HAWAII, TO ORGANISE EVERYTHING???, ALTHOUGH THE PAPERS WOULD BE FILLED OUT, ON LINE.
    WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR A PACKAGE DEAL, FOR A VERY SMALL, BUT BEAUTIFUL WEDDING, AS TRYING TO GET BOTH FAMILIES TOGETHER AT ONCE, IS / AND HAS BEEN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
    SO IT WILL BE, JUST MYSELF, MY FIANCE, AND HOPEFULLY MY MOM , AS SHE HAS CANCER, BUT SHE'S STILL ACTIVE ATM.
    THAT IS WHY ,MY FIANCE, AND I WERE HOPING, FOR OCTOBER, OR MAYBE EARLY NOVEMBER, BECAUSE SHE WILL HAVE TO START TREATMENT FOR THE CANCER, AND WE WOULD BOTH LOVE, MY MOM TO BE THERE AND SHE CAN GET SEE BEAUTIFUL HAWAII AS WELL.
    IM SO VERY SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS, BUT IT'S BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
    WARMEST REGARDS
    KATHY AND CEDRICK.

      Hi there! Please note that my answer is based off of doing weddings for 20+ years but there is always a chance that the Department of Health may have changed requirements so you should always double check information directly with them. My understanding is that you don't need your divorce papers BUT you are welcome to bring them "just in case". While I don't believe you need your Visa, please feel free to check with the Department of Health. You should have no trouble getting your license in time for a wedding in October as long as you arrive with enough time to go to the Department of Health. Best wishes!

    I need help what this statement means over the website "
    A $10.00 portal administration fee will be collected online upon completion of your application. Payment will be accepted with a major credit card. Your application will be submitted for review. Upon approval, you will receive an email notification along with your approved license number and an electronic copy of your certificate. Please register at least two weeks prior to the ceremony date, as your registration could take up to two weeks for approval." I never got an confirmation email, and is this talking about the initial application which is for $65. So wanted to confirm.

    • @aperfectdayhawaii
      @aperfectdayhawaii 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please contact the Department of Health directly as they will be able to check on the status of your online submission and be able to answer any questions you may have about their process. If I were to guess, it sounds like they may have changed their process a little BUT please check with them directly because we don't ever want to go off of a "guess" and would want you to have facts to go off of. We wish you all the best!!!

      @@aperfectdayhawaii Thanks Kelly, I figured it out this is for the performer license, so i solved the riddle. One last question, do you know how can we find a performer and a venue for the wedding like a beach, any recommendations.

    Can I if I haven’t social security??

    • @aperfectdayhi
      @aperfectdayhi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I'm not sure if you are asking if you can apply for a marriage license without a social security number, but if that is what you are asking, please contact the Hawaii Department of Health ((808) 586-4539) directly as I'm not sure about this specific detail and I don't want to give wrong information just in case it may have changed. Best wishes!

    If my pastor travel to the Hawaii with us, we will fill his name in the “officiant name”?

    • @aperfectdayhi
      @aperfectdayhi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, but regardless of where your Officiant is coming from, for your wedding to be legal and recognized, your Officiant will need to be licensed by the State of Hawaii. If your Officiant legally marries you somewhere else, you will need to follow that locations requirements and procedures. If you are not sure, you should be able to reach the Department of Health to verify if your Officiant's name is registered with the State of Hawaii. I hope this helps :-).
