The cake on the second tier was so firm, you could easily moved and put it on the first tier cake, why that's butter cream dry and so firm, or you used chocolate?
Lovely... Whipped cream also gives the same effect..It's easy too..

I double my recipe of buttercream. but its very surprising because you don't need that much for the ruffles. I filled up my piping bag once and 1/2.
1000 g Butter and 5000 g Sugar..........

not sure, maybe the sugar is crystallizing or maybe it wasnt mixed enough.
