Glad you liked it!! And S-Class just won an VMA for best kpop video. Stray Kids are an 8 member, self-producing group from Korea (with 2 Australian members). They just announced a new comeback for Nov. 10 called Rockstar, with an album teaser that's crazy. I think you'd really like Topline, which was one of the B-sides from the June album called 5-Star. God's Menu, Maniac, Thunderous, lots of great ones. Fandom is called Stay, so welcome to Stayville! It's a chaotic, wonderful place.

If you want to learn their names, I"d suggest a 2023 Guide. TeaNoSuga has a long but great one. Another way is to watch the video for Fam (Korean version), which introduces the members.

I really like people who are able to appreciate hard work in such a deep way, I've been seeing quite a few reactions for years, and this is by far one of my favorites, you were able to recognize a key part of the essence of Stray Kids, it's really mesmerizing how that's all you have to do, open your mind and listen to what people have to say and give them recognition if it's deserved. I have the honor of knowing Stray Kids since before their debut, so I love seeing people get excited like I do.
Stray Kids writes, composes and produces all their music (mainly the production team "3racha" composed by the three members Bang Chan, Changbin and Han, masterminds honestly.) so they have an immensely varied catalog with all kinds of genres, including one of which they are pioneers called "mala taste" (It is mainly composed of synthesizer sounds along with strong heavy rap, "mala" referring to the addictive spicy flavor of Chinese street food "malatang", their song "God's menu" brought such genre to the world, it's a must if you like them) it's brilliant how "3racha" it's inspired by the hot sauce Sriracha and "Sri" sounds like three written in Korean alphabet.
This is a group that is really worth supporting, 8 incredible human beings making music full of passion, youth and love.
Definitely there's a new subscriber here, I will be delighted to see future reactions of my boys.

8 very talented young men. They have been doing this since they were 16 to 20. 6 years later they are still just 22 to nearly 26 and over 170 songs strong (released) but we all know they have many more than that.
BANG CHAN (CHRIS) Australian, leader and genius who just turned 26. He has over 165 songs registered with KOMCA, and is ranked 1st for 4th gen and 9th overall. He left Australia and his family when he was just 13 to pursue his dream, that is half a lifetime ago for him. He was a trainee for 7 years, learning everything there is to knowabout music, performing and production. JYP had enough faith in Chan and his abilities to allow him to choose his own team. When he thought they were ready, they were put through a survival show where all the members eventually got through. Chan had his group of boys, his STRAY KIDS. Everything about them had Chans stamp, including the logo, which is his handwriting.
LEE KNOW born in Korea was born to dance. Has been dancing since very young. Was in a dance crew for 6 years, competed at the World of Dance in 2016, back up dancer for BTS. Completed the basic dance course at JYP in a record 2 weeks. National Geographic super star. 😅 He is just 25 in October.
CHANGBIN, a rapping giant. Korean. Was the fastest 4th gen rapper until recently at 9.75 syllables per second with his collab Mirror Mirror with Millie and F HERO. Singing voice of an angel. His vocal coach suggested he try out rapping due to his vocal tone and a genius was created. Flow switches, cadences.... unbelievable. He has over 140 songs registered with KOMCA, which puts him right behind Channie. Face of SAMSUNG in Korea. He just turned 24 in August.
HAN. Born in Korea but grew up in Malaysia. He is the ACE of K-pop. He doesn't just RAP, SING, DANCE WRITE and PRODUCE, he excels at it all. Very funny, empathetic and a genius. He is not far behind Binnie at 9.13 syllables per second but man, what he can do is simply amazing. He also has just over 135 songs with KOMCA making him 3rd behind the other 2. He just turned 23.
CHAN, CHANGBIN and HAN are the producing team. They are known as 3RACHA. They have songs in their own right as 3RACHA away from Stray Kids. They were the foundation of the group.
HYUNJIN born in Korea. He was street casted by a scout whilst shopping with his mother just for the way he looked. He had no skills at the time. He has grown into a monster performer. I love his style of RAP. His singing is developing beautifully and he is the 1st prince of K-pop for visuals and dance. He moves like water, fluidly. He is also a LLAMA, drama llama, but we love him for it 😅 Versace Global Ambassador. He just turned 23 in March.
FELIX, Australian, always loved to dance. Moved to Korea by himself when he was 17 without knowing Korean. He is the deep voice and our Sunshine. He is regularly found rapping on the tracks but lately has more singing parts. His range goes from low to high and is known for beat boxing and being the most non-annoying mosquito. 😅 Louis Vitton House Ambassador. He turned 23 the day after HAN. We call them our sunshine twins.
SEUNGMIN, Korean. Has the most unique vocal tone. Very serious/diligent artist, always strives for improvement and just when you think he's the best he can be he surprises us again. Has several OSTs for K DRAMAS and is my favourite singer in the group. He also turns 23 this month.
I.N. (YANG JEONG-IN) Korean. The MAKNAE (Youngest) of the group. Funnily enough probably the most mature, lol. He also has a unique vocal tone, very expressive with stage presence, can eat a whole ass pizza slice in one bite, 😅 Loves TROT music and is simply adorable. He turned 22 in February.
All the members can sing, dance, RAP and write songs. Along with 3RACHA some members are also learning production skills.
That is my intro to my boys. For further details I suggest you watch TEANOSUGAR 2023. It's long but STAYS will sit through it with you. We LOVE watching a new STAY being born and we are very proud of our boys. ❤

Oh, yeah. Stray Kids are special indeed. They are one of the few self produced groups in K-pop. 3 of the members had formed a rap group called 3Racha while they were still trainees, and they made songs & put them on soundcloud. They weren't supposed to, but they did. When the leader (Bang Chan. The oldest of the group, trained for 7 years at JYPE) was allowed the chance to form a group to try to debut with, he gathered people he saw a future with. (This was something that K-pop companies have never done. The company is the one who chooses members & style of music, and put the group out with the songs they want them to sing) Chan had 3Racha as his core, and chose 6 others to try to debut with. So they then went to the CEO of JYPE & said they want to try. So they were put through a survival show to prove they could do it. They were tasked with writing their own songs. Producing their own music. And collaborating with the choreography instructors to come up with unique choreo. It was hard. You have to remember that they ranged in age from 20 to 16. During the survival show, two members got eliminated, but at the very last episode the CEO decided he liked the old drive they had. So he proposed a test. They had to preform two stages. One as the seven who were left, and one as the full nine. Then the public would vote, as well as the CEO seeing what one he preferred. They made it through as a nine member group by an overwhelmingly large margin. So Stray Kids was born.
They decided that they would continue to only make music that had a message that they would be proud to put out for people to listen to. So every song in their discography? They had a large hand in. They write almost all their own lyrics, and they make their own tracks. In their first year, they put out 4 mini albums (4-7 songs on each). The second year they put out three....But one member (Woojin) decided to leave the group just before the last album was put out & they had to restructure their group into a 8 member group. They had to rewrite all the songs they had made for 8 members. They had to change all the choreography. It was rough. But they pulled themselves together, and continued to make music to speak to the fans. They are so grateful for their fans. They know they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for us. All of their music is to help people. Some is just to say "HEY! This is who we are!", but even that has a message for the listener.
I'm going to leave a list I give to baby Stay when they discover Stray Kids. Stray kids do have a story line of sorts. I'm going to include some songs I think are part of the story, but not quite. I'll put them in brackets. And yes. The trailers & teasers I list are needed for the story. Hellevator isn't needed, but it is very important for people to watch. Helevator was made before they even debut. And parts of it are seen through out the story line.(You will see Woojin in older videos. He was present till Double Knot. He has a lovely voice, and I wish him well on his solo career.)
    (Hellevator)
    I Am Not trailer
    District 9
(Mirror could go here, but it's not completely in the story line)
    Voices
    Grow Up
    My pace
    I Am You
    Victory Song Performance Video
    Miroh
    Cle 2: Yellow Wood trailer
    Side Effects Teaser 1
    Side Effects
    Double Knot
(Astronaut is technically next, but it's also a split in the story line again. The group from this one end up in space & go on to the song TOP where they have a conclusion of a sorts for their story. So their path is up to Double Knot, then Astronaut, and finally TOP. The main story skips this, and goes on to Levanter Trailer.)
    Cle: Levanter Trailer
    Levanter
    Go Live Trailer
    Stray Kids Prequel: Highlight Reel
    Gods Menu
    In Life Trailer
    Back Door
I think that's the end of the official story line. Stray Kids consider Gods Menu as their new beginning, and the story shows it. After that, they take many different routs in their story & music. I still highly suggest checking out their album trailers. They started making them into mini movies.
There is also a mini story that covers several albums. It's about a group of school friends who start a film club. Then feelings & drama happen. I'll leave that list too.
    Mixtape: On Track
    Unveil track: "B Me"
    Mixtape: OH
    The View
I haven't even included songs that 3Racha made just for them as a rap unit. I would suggest checking out the songs "Heyday", "Zone", and "3Racha". (Yes, they have a song called 3Racha & it's in a UK Drill)
Some other songs I love I will list as well. They have such a variety of sounds. And they divide into subgroups for some, or just do a solo song.
    Easy
    Blueprint
    Chronosaurus
    Venom
    Give Me Your TMI
    TMT
    Question
Scars (The mv for this is lovely, but it's a Japanese release & those never have subtitles, so do the version they did for The First Take)
Slump (Do the First Take version of that one too)
Domino (Do a color coded lyric video. There isn't a mv for this, just an unveil & that's not the full song. There is a dance practice for it though.)
Youtiful (It's mv is an animated lyric video, and it's entirely in English)
I would suggest watching a guide to Stray Kids to learn more about them. There are quite a few, and some are music spoiler free. I hope this helps. Sorry for the long comment.

You are definitely going to like Stray Kids. I actually think S-Class is a perfect example of everything that is truly Stray Kids. Their creativity, their uniqueness, their genre bending blending 😂, and of course their insanely diverse and standout members. (Ill be honest, with some K-pop groups I find that because they were formed by the company, a company that like any orher has a particular kind of Idol they believe is 'perfect' in talents, personality and, of course, appearance... it tends to result in a group where all of the members not only have the same strengths talent wise, amd because of that, even voice wise. But they also tend to look the same too. Not because Koreans look the same, not at all actually. Just because they have very specific standard of what is beautiful in Korea, which simply doesn't result in what is beautiful to the world over. Which is diversity in a group.)
Stray Kids are self... well, everything. (Self written, self composed, self produced, self-named, and yes, even self-formed) the result was a group that not only teuly cared for eachother because they picked eachother to traverse the future with, but they also have endless differences. They have different talents, different syles, different personalities, very different voices and very different looks as well. You remember them... you remember because of the members themselves and the vast array of talents they have, different for each and every one of them. You remember because of their looks, the fact that no besuty standard determined the group and therefore diminished the truly important factors of the group like the aforementioned talents. And you remember them because they as individuals are unique people. This creates something special a group that needs all 8 of it's members to flurish. A group that as one, and only as one, create shat it is they do. A group that coveres ever necessity that they need to and then some. A group that is TRULY a team, who TRULY excels ON THEIR OWN, and a team that makes people interested in them to a level that is incredibly rare.
Most importantly, all of this cones together to give you a ream that has 2 very important attributes, the two most important ones in music. They have TRULY unique music that can't be made by everyone else, because it takes these 8 men in particular to literally make music like this that ACTUALLY works. Not to mention, it takes these exact guys to then bring it to life in the studio AND properly do it justice on the stage as well. Many have tried to so what they are doing, and up until them, music like this just... didnt work. And if it did, it simply never caught on, not like it is doing with Stray Kids at it's core.
Which of course brings me to the other major factor that makes Stray Kids so incredibly special, and I must say, it's arguably just as important as the music they make. That is the undeniable existence of the "IT Factor" within the memebrs themselves. They nust have IT! So, yeah, they are DEFINITELY worth everyones time to at least check them out. If you like them, dor any reason, do a deeper dive. Because they cannot be judged on lne song either. Rhey cover over 50 different sub-genres and have over 200 tacks.
Half of which have aome form of visual component to go with it. And those that don't, honestly, they don't even need it. Because their stand alone tracks are known within the fandom as some of their very best, and that the guys only make some dorm of visual to go with a track if it can benifit form one in some way. Which is definitely saying something, because the 100 or so tracks that do have a visual to go long with them are already top-notch. Their music, whixh is performed in either mix of Koren and English as well as Japanese and English (however they do have a couple pupely English versions of a few songs) is truly created by them.
The primary Subunit within Stray Kids that is predominantly responsible for the creation of their music is known as 3RACHA. The unit is comprised of 3 of their 8 members. BangChan- Stray Kids Group Leader and Head Producer. Changbin- Stray Kids Main Rapper and Primary Composer. Han- Stray Kids Main Rapper and Primary Lyricist. However all three members of 3RACHA contribute heavily to all aspects of music cretion, they just happen to have different areas of expertise. So, although all members of Stray Kids contribute to the creation process of the groups' music. Each of them holding no less that over a dozen song credits with then Korean Music Copyright Association known as KOMCA. The members of 3RACHA hold by far the most.
More importantly, for all of the tracks they hold credits for, they hold the main/primary credits. Which means they are the true creators or their own music, and are very much self-made artists. They didn't " have a hand in the lyrics" or "have a hand in the production" like a lot of credits in Korean music are for. Needless to say, Stray Kids are truly just build different, and they are truly SELF MADE. In every meaningful and accurate definition of the term... they ARE self-made... And they are definitely worth going down the rabbit hole for.
More on the 3RACHA and their music credits, for anyone interested....
Unfortunately, Korea doesn't award credits for the individual aspects of the creation process, ie. lyrics, composition and production. It's just a single credit, awarded to each person that was in any way incolved.) Which, personally, I see as unfortunate. Because it truly undermines those individuals whom are truly responsible for the creation of their music... Such as 3RACHA. Which is precisely why I am including all of this in my comment to begin with. In order to make it clear to anyone, including other fans whom may read it, just how pronounced the part they play is. The members of Stray Kids, particularly 3RACHA, are THE minds behind their music.
Chan holds main/primary credits for around 176 songs.
Changbin hold main/primary ceedits for around 140 songs.
While Han holds main/primary credits for around 136 songs.
(The difference in the total is due to half of the groups 200+ discography being equally accredited to more than one member of 3RACHA.)
They are the three most accredited 4th gen idols, and they are the youngest idols in the "Top 20 Most Accredited" in KOMCA. They also happen to be the youngest FULL members of KOMCA as well, into which their acceptance was quite the honor. Because only a couple dozen select individuals who hold KOMCA credits are promoted to full membership each year in a vote. (Where each current member of the association must agree, unanimously, for each of the nominated individuals acceptance. So for all of 3RACHA to accepted, and at the same time, was a great honor. Not to mention a massive accomplishment, as the other qualifications include having the accumulated royalties for your accredited music add up to very substantial amount, meaning you have to be very successful to recive a nomination in the first place.

They were an experiment from start to now. Kpop groups are usually formed by a company. Chan hand picked all the members and asked jyp to give them a chace so jyp put them through a survival program (stray kids survival) to prove they can debut as a group up to jyp standards (spoiler, they did 😅) theyve made their own music and had their own unique energy from the very beginning. Instead of a bunch of kids grouped together to be trained to perform, its a bunch of friends making making music and having fun and taking care of each other❤

I also think you would like the crazy videos of God's Menu, Thunderous, and Freeze - they got a lot going on.
    Welcome to Stay :D

    @herzeleidknits 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

I see that a lot of other Stays have left extensive comments. I really enjoyed watching you become a Stay in 8 minutes. I literally became hooked during the first 10 seconds of their video Thunderous and haven't looked back since. They have all sorts of genres within while somehow staying Stray Kids.
They are 8 members. 3 of which produce and write. The leader, Bang Chan, hand picked the members, is a main producer, writer, and creates much of the music and beats. You can feel them in the music because they create their own.
Beyond the amazing visuals of many of their videos, there are also great songs that don't have music videos. Many have color coded lyric videos on here with English translations where you can get to know who is singing which line. You can even do a music video like you did with s class and then do the color coded lyrics right after to break down the lyrics.
Welcome to Stayville! I'm excited for your journey.
One song that I would recommend to you (but after you get a few more under your belt) would the The Tortoise and the Hare. There's no music video only color coded. I know you'll enjoy the unique construction of the song, the lyrics, how the meaning of the lyrics interacts with the music itself, and the whole overall song. The color coded lyric video for it also explains some things in the korean word play that you wouldn't understand by just reading the English translation on your own.

And their Sub-unit 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin and Han) who are also writers and producers of much of their content and songs. Check out their songs (no mv's) "HeyDay", their name sake song "3RACHA".

since you are a rap fan i recommend you to react next to 1) god's menu (a must!) 2) topline 3) muddy water (lyric video).
but honestly stray kids are amazing, most of their songs are very rap heavy, so you can just pick any song and you won't miss.

I absolutely loved and appreciated your reaction to this song. I am so happy you were able to recognize the core of who Stray Kids are by the moving message behind their lyrics. That is why the fandom "STAY" calls us family and emotional because they write songs that are real, endearing, and pick-me-up songs. I had the privilege to be a stay since debut and watching you react like this is exactly how I first did. if you watch their guide to get to know the members, you have a closer connection to the music. After that, I would start at District 9 which is their debut song, and then move from there. enjoy your journey and all of stays welcome you and are here to help guide you.

They have 100+ hit songs in all kinds of genres so it is hard to recommend top 10. Let's say: Top Line, Social Path, All My life (Stray Kids Remix), God's Menu, Thunderous, Lonely Street, Levanter, Chronosaurus, Double Knot, Time Out.... Like I said, it is hard to choose...lol

Since you are a Rap Fan you can't go wrong with Stray Kids. They have the best Rap line in the 4th gen K-pop in my opinion. Stray Kids are amazing group of guys they are 8 members who all can rap, sing and dance so well. They make about 99% of their music and maybe 1% they work with few other producers as well but it is mainly them who make their songs they have the producing unit called 3racha consist of their 3 members but the other 5 members have been contributing to their music too. They cover so many different genres that you'll surely find something that you'll like. I suggest you watch Venom, God's Menu, Muddy Water, Thunderous, Freeze, Maze of Memories, Easy some of the rap heavy song they have with a bit of mix genres here and there. They have a lot of songs though about 200+ songs including solo and unit songs. I honestly enjoy your reaction and dissecting the lyrics the way you understand it. Also don't worry about talking too long we STAYs (Stray Kids fans) always enjoy when new people get to discover stray kids and enjoy their music cause honestly they deserve to be known by everyone and be recognized for their talents. I hope you continue to react to them cause you'll definitely love them even more. 😁

  • @StaySiren
    @StaySiren 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Alright, so… I’m going to leave a second comment because your evaluation of the lyrics warrants some further context and effort on my part - btw, your resonance with their lyrics is truly moving and I am now a fan of you too!
So, I will give you some context (if you want a better explanation, Andy and Jaz on TH-cam break down a lot of the lyrics from a bilingual perspective). Teuk is a word in Korean that is a slightly derogatory way of saying odd. And that’s something that people who don’t like stray kids say about their music, that it is ‘teuk’ or ‘odd’ and not meaning it nicely. Byeul is the Korean word for ‘star’ and if you add teuk to Byeul and make Teuk-Byeul, it then means “special”. So they play around with Teuk, Byeul, and Teuk Byeul through this whole song with several layers. The first part of the 80s boombap rap, you can hear teuk-based words brought up constantly.
The part where the translation said ‘flashy’, they were using a Korean word that’s like a flash sound effect.
These guys love plays on words, you’ll find them constantly using Korean words that mean one thing, but sound like another word in English but can be used both ways in the piece.
So, the last trio of albums we call the wordplay albums (Noeasy, Oddinary and Maxident) , and S-class is the title track to what may be a star series with the first album (from June) being 5-star, and the next album (just announced to be coming out November 10th) is… well, we’ll call it rock-star. (The symbol is Chinese for music/happy, and in Korean sounds like ‘rock’). So I’m excited to see what we get.
I’d be interested to seeing you react to much more from them because I think you’ll fall in love with them as much as their passionate fan base (we are called Stays), and I’m here for the journey.

I recommend listening next to the other 4 first tracks from the same album (5-star) since Stray Kids does a lot of things, it would be an easier transition into their whole discography if you listen next to songs that aren't very stark in difference to S-Class.
The first other 4 tracks are Hall Of Fame, ITEM, Superbowl and Topline.
After that you can listen to the rest of the 5-STAR Album which are DLC, Get Lit, Collision, FNF, Youtiful, The Sound (Korean Ver.) and Youtiful.
After S-Class/5-STAR Album, they started a Dome Tour since August and it's already past halfway + about to end already, all while performing at different events since August on Heart Dream Awards, KCON LA 2023, VMAs and Global Citizen Festival.
They had a Japanese comeback with a Japanese EP this September which was promoted alongside the Dome Tour.
The Japanese EP contains the Japanese Ver. of Superbowl, Social Path featuring LiSA and Butterflies. Plus the instrumental versions of Social Path and Butterflies.
They are coming back with a new album titled 樂-STAR/ROCK-STAR this November 10 and is presumably gonna be a rock-dominant album.
I'd say ease into 5-STAR Album first, then the JAPAN 1st EP next, then wait for this upcoming album release and listen to that.
After these 3 albums/ep, then you can slowly go backwards with ODDINARY, MAXIDENT & THE SOUND (Japanese Album).
Then you can check their lore and even older releases pre-2022.
Since I'm not really aware of your preferences, this recommendation is the safe way to go.
Their performances from Heart Dream Awards 2023, KCON LA 2023, VMAs 2023 and Global Citizen Festival 2023 are out there already so you can check them out.
There are also videos out there from the Day 2 Live Viewing of every city from their Dome Tour. You can check those out, those have both older and newer songs. Those also have performances of each member's unreleased solo song.
    That's all. 🖤

    • @annejia5382
      @annejia5382 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Also, this is their busiest year ever.
They started Maniac Tour last year April and ended it this year April.
They dropped ODDINARY before that (early 2022) which has "Maniac" in it then dropped MAXIDENT in the later half of 2022. Then dropped THE SOUND (Japanese Album) early 2023. Then dropped 5-STAR this June. Had a fanmeeting (concert-like) in July. Celebrated STAYWEEK last week of July to 1st week of August. Then started 5-STAR Dome Tour this August. Then came back with their JAPAN 1st EP this September. And now, coming back with 樂-STAR this November.
There's also different events within the year.
Then there's extra content that's still music related like their vlogs, behind-the-scenes and pre-album release videos that aren't teasers, trailers or official mv/audio. And then interviews on different broadcast stations and youtube channels. Extra content from those broadcast stations like the MBC's Music Core's Connodoll (karaoke). There's also fashion events. There's also SKZ-RECORDs. There's also SKZ-CODEs. Random lives here and there. AND A WHOLE LOT MORE. ❤

Quick info, Stray Kids currently have 8 members. Just incase u get confused about their about how many of them. They debuted with 9 members. 1member left on 2019. So now they have 8.
Since u like rap, u should listen to 3racha (pronounce: 3- racha (the RACHA from siRACHA sauce). 3racha is the Production Unit from Stray Kids. They produce ALL of their songs. Suggestion for u to listen is 3racha & Heyday. These 2 are rap heavy song which most rap fan like.
Afterwards, u can listen to Miroh, God's menu, Venom, Freeze, My Pace and Topline.
