Just sharing my experience with Teespring now called Spring. Back in 2019, I did some shirts with them, I ordered myself a sample and the print colors were all wrong. It took them a few tries to get the colors right. Fast forward two months ago, I made a hoodie design and ordered myself 2 samples. They were perfect! I wanted to order another sample, but for some reason made a mistake and ordered from my own website, not a sample. First, that order did not show up in my list of purchases (prob because it was not ordered as a sample) So, I ordered another one (still not a sample). Omg! These hoodies were horrible!! The print was totally off! The samples were very professional looking and looked shiny, the non-samples looked like a first grader just slapped some paint on the hoodie. The letters were not even aligned. You would think you had double vision when you read them! I complained to Spring, and customer service was responsive. They issued a replacement. After two weeks the 2nd non-sample order came in, with the exact same issues. I was told, no that is not the replacement, that was your second order. I'm like, OK... so I now have two of these ugly hoodies. The replacement came in, and it was worse printing than the previous two (non-samples) that were sent! So now, I have 3 ugly hoodies, and waiting for Spring to send me a refund (for the 2nd non-sample order) My take is that if you order a sample, they make it look good so you go on and do print-on-demand with them. But when your customers order, who knows if they get a totally different print quality. My story. My experience.
My biggest control issue is packaging. I feel presentation is everything. But I just don't have the room for large orders. It's something I need to let go off. Thanks for the info.

This may be a stupid question but I can’t find an answer for it anywhere: if you want to sell shirts in person as well as online, should you use the same print on demand service to order yourself like 100 shirts?
I've been looking into creating designs and selling them via etsy and other providers. Using print on demand is such an essential part of growing your business, growing a customer base and obviously creating an income. I live in the middle of nowhere in the UK and it is essential for me to use POD as the nearest post office for me is over an hour's walk away (I don't drive). Thanks for your wise words. I would say that POD companies can't afford to produce poor quality items as they will lose custom themselves.
You need margins if you are running ads. If you are setting up a tshirt through printful, max branding on a tshirt (back, front, inner neck/or sleeve, what do you charge so that you aren't losing money? And people still buy?
Am I pricing my t shirts too expensive ? If I don’t price $24 + I don’t see much profit but people may think that’s too much for a graphic t . Thoughts ?

Hey guys lil help here I'm planning on doing this POD business right but quick question I'll have to use ads to promote my stire right? Someone get back to me on this
Help! I'm starting off with the basics! Using an HP inkjet printer and transfer paper and domestic iron! I just did my first design and two things result I don't want: I cut the design to a smaller size after printing and it has a border I don't want (cutting around design). The design has a border in the original file but as I printed landscape it was out of sight and too large a design, so I cut. Second, the color output was not at all the brightness of the design file. I'm guessing something with printer settings including paper type, which I didn't use for this printout. Has anyone encountered this, or is familiar enough to provide some tips? Thanks! =).
Inkjet printers just aren't an idea way of making t-shirts. Would recommend saving and investing in a heat press with some heat transfers or outsourcing your prints.
@@HustleNinjas Damn ma man! Like that? Lol! I can do that! But meanwhile, is there anything about what I shared that you may have encountered when you or others in the niche started and were able to fix? This is not so much about the supplies I'm using but the growing pains/trial and error, and since I just started I'm seeking the answers with some of the best in the niche! Anything you can help with (printer settings, graphic editors to use, etc)! Thanks! =).
Definitely check your printer settings. Select printers have borderless printing, so it can print all the way to the edge. If it does not have the setting, you could use a guillotine cutter for straighter edge cutting or a pizza cutter. As far as the brightness, the transfer paper you’re using could be soaking a lot of the ink so you’ll have the brighten the image before sending it to print. Hope that helps, I’m not too sure exactly, but I know those are some things I experienced when using that method in 2006.
@@HustleNinjas Also, as what we've touched on so far is part of the process for garment design printing, do you have any tutorial vids on these issues for different printers, graphics editors, the like, or recommend any channels that do? Thanks! =)
So in order to use POD to make and sell tshirt and other items, is it required for me to actually register a small business I'm my country or province first? Because if yr planning to do this don't you in fact need to have an actual business registered with a name and or a business number, because if yr going to srart selling items, the sales dollars should be going into a business account shouldn't they. Then there is yr taxes to the government? Like say you are wanting to open a store where you design yr items on POD but also want it displayed on Etsy to sell them there as well. All the money from yr sales has to be deposited in an account and you can't just keep having this deposited into yr bank account right ?
Really great video. I just learned a lot. Wondering about ethics though and if there are any POD sites that pay their workers well and have good work conditions. That's my one thing that I'm really really concerned about at this point.
Any pod platform can be passive, just depends on the systems you put in place. You may be looking for something like red bubble, but traffic on those websites aren’t the greatest.
Now just starting out from absolutely nothing… would it be better to not use POD and fulfill orders yourself? Because I don’t think I’m going to get a single sale. Lol. And I do love actually seeing the product being made and learning about it. I personally am working on designing stickers in a particular niche🙂 I definitely see POD useful if you are making sales
If you’re starting out, this is the way to go because once you put items in your shop, you never have to think about it again. Then put THAT link in all of your social media profiles. Try working on creating the art and applying to products a couple of days a week and then work on your stuff a couple of days a week, then use one day to promote and network via social media. Make a Linktree and put all of your offerings/links to shop on there. It will all kick in at some point, but organizing your time and energy is important to avoid burnout. I’ve been in the clothing biz for over 20 years and this POD avenue is so simplified compared to even two years ago, it’s insane. I built a shop on Printify and have 27 products up so far lol and I have ADHD, 😂 so if I can do it, so can you. ❤ best of luck (and ps, your friends and fam will be excited to support you and spread the word, when they see all the work you’ve put in) 🤍
I’m starting a POD as well, I’m trying to figure out how people print “any design” a customer sends them, sometimes you just sent a screenshot and they’re able to print it, how?? Does anyone know?
temaryb you need to send them the design in png or pdf with high resolution quality which means very clear on a mockup with the size you want on it and they tske it from there. im a streetwear pod freelance designer i can design all kind of catalogs from edgy/y2k/gothic/grunge/ect if you need my service just answer bak
@GSDVIDZ I will do a lot of research, Thanks. I had just bought some of the powder and was gonna use it with the sublimation printer I just got to do the hack that everyone has been posting videos about. But I guess I'll put a pin in t b at idea.
Why tho ? You can sell each shirt for 300$ if you want and even more, there's no price limit because after they take their cut everything else is mine. And in printing you can choose and see for yourself also the orders you have.

Thank you very much for sharing this information. Do you know which supplier makes custom shape pillow?
Good video man!!!
*How do you have in-house as opposed to outsourcing print on demand and expect profit? Wouldn't the type of printer you require cost a lot of money therefore taking a million sales to see profit?
Great intel! Much appreciated.
Hey is there any kind of store that will give me an affiliate link to their whole shop and whenever someone's enters through ny link and buys something, I get my bonus???
I have a question I haven’t been able to find an answer for… is there any way to get a custom product printed on demand? Like if I want something specific that isn’t in any catalog… or maybe even a patented custom product? How would that work?
Hi! Thanks for all the info!
I have a question. I live in the netherlands and if i check printify to see what print providers they have here, there are only two! One that makes phone cases and one for stickers. What to do if you want to sell mugs of t-shirts and such?
Rich thanks for all of your great info. I help with a non profit org. and your videos are helping the kids learn how to be entrepreneurs. i hope we can help you as well by supporting your channel.
Guy I need help. How many tshirts design sample should I do for my first drop? 🤔
Great info bro. Quick question: what shirt do you have on; company and product number
All companies start with very low/no profit margins - focus on getting sales and a following first.
smart on the thumbnail and title my guy!
Nice video thanks🔥
Hey guys lil help here I'm planning on doing this POD business right but quick question I'll have to use ads to promote my stire right? Someone get back to me on this
Social Media is free.
Great video!
@@HustleNinjas This is helpful, thanks! =)
You definitely should do that, but you don’t need all of that to start, just start with what you have
This is a great video 😊😊😊
Southern California watching!! An absolutely awesome video!!!! Much thanks for the upload!! More please! Ha ha
Really great video. I just learned a lot. Wondering about ethics though and if there are any POD sites that pay their workers well and have good work conditions. That's my one thing that I'm really really concerned about at this point.
They do, I’ve been on the inside of a lot of them.
Here’s a inside look of Printful:

Thank you very much for sharing this information.
Excellent advice, very clear and easy to understand thank you!
I want to know the best passive print on demand platform??? Let Me Know please 🙏
Any pod platform can be passive, just depends on the systems you put in place.
You may be looking for something like red bubble, but traffic on those websites aren’t the greatest.
@@HustleNinjas redbubble and Teepublic banned people’s accounts for no reason I tried
I’m looking for a platform similar to Teepublic
For Etsy I write ebooks that can be resold, but I guess they could be printed on demand on Amazon.
But with being brand new should you start paying with Shopify without knowing if your gonna sell?
Now just starting out from absolutely nothing… would it be better to not use POD and fulfill orders yourself? Because I don’t think I’m going to get a single sale. Lol. And I do love actually seeing the product being made and learning about it. I personally am working on designing stickers in a particular niche🙂 I definitely see POD useful if you are making sales
Are you saying, if you fulfill it yourself, you will get sales because of that?
YOU GOTTA BELIEVE YOU WILL GET SALES DITCH THE STINKIN THINKIN THINK POSITIVE
❤ best of luck (and ps, your friends and fam will be excited to support you and spread the word, when they see all the work you’ve put in) 🤍
Some really great points for how to use POD! Super smart! Thanks 🙏
nice honest opinion!
Do you have to have money in your account to have products shipped ?
Yes. You have to pay first before they start producing it and shipping it
I’m starting a POD as well, I’m trying to figure out how people print “any design” a customer sends them, sometimes you just sent a screenshot and they’re able to print it, how?? Does anyone know?
temaryb you need to send them the design in png or pdf with high resolution quality which means very clear on a mockup with the size you want on it and they tske it from there. im a streetwear pod freelance designer i can design all kind of catalogs from edgy/y2k/gothic/grunge/ect if you need my service just answer bak
@abdellahbirig77 THANK YOU!!
I honestly need to jump off the porch. I have t shirt ready designs since 2007 I’m just sitting on
jump! You got this!
Hey Rich, can you talk about DTF printing? Awkward styles added it but I don't know if it's a good printing method or not.
Great things to think about!
Loving the videos my man. What's your thoughts about fumes from DTF?
Had a lot of discussion on this not too long ago… not too bad if you’re ventilating it well, but I wouldn’t put a dtf in my home.
Has anyone done a video about this? I didn't know this was a thing.
@@HustleNinjas makes sense 👍 Also, thanks for the reply mate. Hello from London England 🏴
@@VinoUdaBestOne very toxic. However, with the right fume extraction and mask etc, you'll probably be ok. Do lots of research on the powder and ink.
@GSDVIDZ I will do a lot of research, Thanks. I had just bought some of the powder and was gonna use it with the sublimation printer I just got to do the hack that everyone has been posting videos about. But I guess I'll put a pin in t b at idea.
Thanks for the info.
But, before I go, have you ever been a wrestling fan?
Great Video!
Thanks so much for sharing.
all i need is to make $1000 each month with POD, or any type of work from home-stuff. what can i expect? be brutally honest!
yall be weird that’s something to ask yourself
It'll take time and consistency.. simple
how much time? i mean one day is time, one week is also time, one month is time, one year is time, ten years is time. @@dappiduck
I'm confused. Your title says don't use it. However, your content says it's okay to use it. Which one is accurate?
Did you listen to the video?
POD is like DTF?
Would be good if you could show the maths for how you could do well with POD as many people are discouraged not knowing the numbers
Church not things ......,,,
@@joshoaaquinoterrado105 what do you mean
Printful is top !!
Why tho ? You can sell each shirt for 300$ if you want and even more, there's no price limit because after they take their cut everything else is mine. And in printing you can choose and see for yourself also the orders you have.
do you need your own website or do these on demand websites make one for you?
Hello, man. Do you use RGB or CMYK for your prints and why?
Cmyk. Rgb is for digital use. Cmyk is for printing.
@@HustleNinjas Thank you 👍
Dope hat! What manufacturer or process did you use to make it?
It's an embroidered hat from Printful. You can see it being made for a few seconds in this video: th-cam.com/video/CuVRT5EVFbo/w-d-xo.html
@@HustleNinjas Thank you! Appreciate you
