Are you making cakes from home or a commercial kitchen? ? My mom started her cake business from home and still makes them from home, but now she is passing on the baton to me. I’m just not sure I can make cakes from my place in Los Angeles.
I’ve always made cakes from home, and have usually licensed my home kitchens or apartment kitchens. Look at your city and state regulations on cottage food law that’s always a good place to start 😊

I wanted to ask a question regarding your last advice. But it has to do with pricing. I don't sell cakes but I wanted to buy a dessert box last week via Facebook Marketplace from a home business. Their ad said it was $20. I asked to placed an order and the lady said it was $25. She said she had changed her prices a week prior on Instagram. But I didn't see or even know she had an Instagram. I was going based on the price she posted on Facebook. So, I decided to meet her half way and wanted to buy her dessert box for $22.50 for only for this time and this specific situation. But, she declined and said that it's $25 for everyone. So, I just thanked her and said I would get back to her. Also, she charged $15 for a 3 mile delivery. The desserts don't require special care. They are simple cheesecake square desserts with no decorations. They are called Churro Cheesecakes. Was I wrong to offer my price of $22.50? Or should the seller have been more customer service oriented to makeup for her mistake regarding the wrong price on Facebook?
