    As Chris Rock cousin. I thank Martin for standing up to his friend to say that Chris didn't deserve the slap. This has divided many for a long time. If the peers, family, fans and friends stand up to Will Smith, a better apology (actions/change) behavior from him, his wife, children and others will come be given to Chris. This will heal after some time. Until then they don't need to push/force themselves on anyone in the Rock family. Definitely don't bully, harass, stalk or try blackballing anyone. That would make it worse.

    What Martin Lawrence said was 100% on point and he didn't have to s*** on either Chris Rock or Will Smith to do it. He is good friends with both guys and he understood from both sides what happened. Listen regardless of how you feel about the situation or not, Will Smith did apologize and Chris Rock seems uninterested to accept his apology. That's his right. Will Smith won't be defined by that? It's not like the dude seriously hurt him. All he did was embarrass him in front of national television in front of millions of people and gave arguably the number one Oscar moment of all time.

      @@Lionheart831 No, that’s the job of a Comedian, to roast people or crack a joke. If Will and Jada aren’t into jokes, they shouldn’t have attended the event! 🤔🤔

    • @Lionheart831
      @Lionheart831 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@battleaxe. Sir, Will and Jada didn't go to the event by choice, they were INVITED to be there. Also, your boy Chris Rock is hardly an angel after all the vile crap he has said all these years with his jokes about his own people including mocking black women to get a cheap laugh from a group of people that don't look like him.
      Not every Comedian is a Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, or even a Don Rickle type. George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Rodney Dangerfield, Redd Fox, Bernie Mac, and Bill Hicks were all great Comedians in their own right, unlike Chris Rock, they never threw shade at their own community in order to get a cheap laugh or for monetary purpose over integrity.
      So please don't tell me what comedy is and what's not because it is obvious that you don't know the difference.
      Let me ask you this question: if you were a comedian, what be the most important thing to you, getting a cheap laugh from the audience, getting more money to get paid, or making people happy while telling good, well-rounded jokes they actually funny without damaging that person's reputation.

    Martin Lawrence responded in the way he only could and it's a diplomatic response. I wouldn't expect him to respond any other way. I don't think what he said itself was good or bad, but as far as an official respond it was the right one and the way. He could actually feel differently on the inside because I am sure he has to be torn about his feelings with Chris and Will, since Martin is both a comedian and actor.

    I love all three of those actors and I've been trying very hard not to see that slap, it keeps being shown, I turn it off every time I see it. Chris could have ducked that slap, it's basic self-defense. I duck it and I come up swinging. I don't give a f#$* who's taking the swing. That's what a man would have done. You don't put your hands on me without expecting a response. It was a very embarrassing moment. As far as Jada is concerned, with the entanglement and all the things that have been revealed about her over the last few years, I don't love her as much as I used to and the fact that she supposedly caused that slap made me feel even worse about her. She is a very entitled lady these days. GI Jane was a great example of female empowerment and a great role by Demi Moore. It was more of a compliment than a joke if you ask me.

      I get what you are saying about how you would've reacted to the slap and Chris Rock had every right to respond back because it would've been clear self-defense, period. But sometimes you have to take a hit for the greater good. I'm not saying Chris intentionally took the slap because it's obviousness of shock and surprise that Will came up on-stage why would Chris react? But in the big picture it might have been better that Chris took the slap because more than likely the story would've been more about 2 black men on a worldwide stage were fighting, because you know if Chris had hit Will, Will would've fought Chris on that stage. Sometimes you have to know when to hit and when to take a hit because who is the bad guy in this situation, as far as the physical confrontation-Will Smith. That one lapse in judgement is hurting Will's career and life worse than if Chris had reacted to him.
      " GI Jane was a great example of female empowerment and a great role by Demi Moore. It was more of a compliment than a joke if you ask me."
      And your statement right there Kevin is why that should not have been any issue with Jada. One of the whole issues in the plot of GI Jane was the fact that a woman for the first time was being accepted into the selection and training of a fictional version of the Navy SEALs. Demi Moore's character was selected because of how attractive she looked compared to the other female candidates specifically because it was thought she wouldn't have bene able to last through the training. So in order for her to truly be able to fit in and for the men to accept her, she had to cut her hair. Even after she cut her hair, her fellow male recruit still thought of her as attractive, even her own boyfriend still thought she was attractive.
      If Jada is such a strong woman, she should've see the joke as a compliment, turning a negative into a positive. I think many of the people who have responded over the months after the slap who can't see that the joke could be a compliment too must not have seen GI Jane. But I guess now it doesn't matter since the U.S. military has gone back on its hair regulations as it related to women of color where they can have their hair at longer lengths and different styles. That's only going to make things worse for women would want to go into the more combat areas of the military and especially areas dealing with Special Forces. If I'm not mistaken there really hasn't been any black women who has even tried to go through Special Forces training as far as getting through the first stage which is the Selection process.

      @@ghost7524 I agree with 85% of what you said, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I have a question for you, do you think Wesley Snipes or Michael Jai White would have let Will Smith slap them?

    • @ghost7524
      @ghost7524 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kevingonzales5149 Of course not, but that's different and you know why-they are both martial artists with much a longer time training and studying the martial arts than Will did for training to be Ali. The thing is though Wesley is the more diplomatic and calmer of the two, so he would've avoided the slap and not hit Will back. Michael Jai would've definitely avoided the slap and hit Will back.

    F that, let's git that 4th installment. That 3rd project was awesome 😎, and ppl need to get over themselves. We need our own Oscars. The fact that this didn't spark that mindset in our people is more embarrassing than the slap itself.
