In this clip, Vlad started off asking Joe Torry about his thoughts on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, which he thought was fake before he saw Chris face. Joe then explained that he knows Chris, who he said is an “introvert” who doesn’t bother anyone, and Joe went on to reveal that he reached out to Chris and his brothers via text, telling them that he was praying for them. Vlad then spoke about Chris going in on Will and Jada in his Netflix stand-up special, and Chris also took a dig at Jada and August Alaina’s “entanglement.” When it comes to what drove Will to slap Chris, Joe explained that he thinks it was due to Chris bringing up Jada several times in the past.

Most people didn’t see it like you and at least half or better, especially “hood” folks, saw it like Tory just explained. My friend worked security at the Oscar. He specifically stated that he was present for the rehearsals and all the jokes were rehearsed during the rehearsal; however, he stated that the jada joke was not apart of the original monologue. He stated that all the security looked at each either because they knew that joke wasn’t apart of the show. He said Will was genuinely hurt because all the guest even said “Chris finally picked the wrong night to clown her.” He clowned tha lady continuously at all his award hosting…leave that lady alone. Comedy show and Oscar are two different venues. There is also a difference between a malicious joke and a fun joke or who’s making the comment. I know there are some people you’ll allow to say crazy stuff to you but there are others who will get the beat down if you think they were trying to be slick out the mouth and they might not even meant it that way.

Joe hit this on the head. Everyone defending Chris yet would likely do or feel similar to Will if they were in his shoes. Please tell me where in the entire world does someone get an unlimited pass for talking about someone else's wife? I know comedians get extra room to talk trash but Chris has been on Jada's case for YEARS. I'm not trying to directly defend Jada btw , just the unwritten rules the world agrees to that talking about a man's wife and family are almost always off limits, but for some reason in Chris Rock's case a large percentage of people suddenly want to make an exception to the rule. As Joe also mentioned, most if not all men would rather be the one being poked fun at rather than their wife, so as odd is this example may sound it'd be better for me to talk trash to some battle tested warrior than for me to go talk trash to that warrior's wife. Not saying either of the two scenario's ends well, but statistically speaking if I could run a simulated experiment, I believe the one where I talk trash directly to the warrior is the one with the best survivability .

BTW I want to make it clear I'm not advocating for violence, but I am saying that if a person were to make a list of potential outcomes in talking trash on another man's wife, physical violence should be pretty high on the list. Sure if I wanted to walk up and pet 100 different grizzly bears, a few might actually let me do it and I leave without a hair harmed on my precious little head, but I know that another outcome in that situation [likely much greater] is me getting mauled to death by the bear. Fine. Then according to you, the response should have been the same regardless who told the joke, no matter if it was The Rock, Terry Crews or what if it was a woman like Amy Schumer? You think Will Smith would have did that then. Hell no because hitting either of them would have result in serious bodily harm, death or the absolute ruin of his career, especially if he hit a white person and even more so a white woman. Secondarily, how the hell is a woman who sleeps with her son's best friend in her husband's house a victim, her son's friend who was strung out on drugs and suffering from depression. How is a grown woman who molested 14 year old Chris Kelley a victim? Kelley ended up committing suicide on drugs years later. Jada Pinkett given the same treatment as R. Kelly or better yet Nate Parker who was black balled after the woman who accused him of rape committed suicide. Jada Pinkett Smith is no victim. She is a predator of the highest degree and she should be in prison just like R. Kelly. It's only because society gives passes to women for predatory behavior that she's not.
Nevertheless, If violence is ok for you in this situation, then I say let who has the capacity for the most violence wins and Chris Rock's huge family, which is very connected to the streets should have their way with Smith next time he's in New York. The bottom line is Will Smith should either be in prison, in the hospital, and in the cemetery. And his sick wife should be right there with him.

It was him that pretty much declared that they have an open marriage, why do you care more about what she does than him? The "entanglement" was about 5 years ago, but Chris Rock wants to spin a narrative that all of this is still fresh on WS mind and the reason behind the slap when nothing could be further from the truth. CR is avoiding taking responsibility for his misdeeds by deflecting onto Will and Jada's relationship and it seems as if 95% of the sheep are falling for his con game. If he were any kind of good man at all, he would apologize for insulting this woman's disease, but he has yet to admit his mistake. He'd rather play the victim. And for the record, I never said Jada was a victim. But with that said, she doesn't deserve to continuously be the butt of Chris's mean-spirited jokes either. All of this talk about her being a predator is ridiculous considering August Alsina was a grown man that initiated the relationship with Jada (with Will's blessings according to him). Plus we have absolutely no evidence of Jada ever having an intimate relationship with Kris Kross, so essentially what we're doing is believing gossip at this point. Bottom line is that Will Smith took his wife to the Oscar's as they prepared for what was likely going to be the biggest night of his career, and here comes loudmouth Chris Rock once again humiliating JPS for a few laughs and essentially ruining the evening he spent his whole acting career preparing for. Chris deserved that Class C Misdemeanor slap. His constant antagonizing of JPS was too much for Will to deal with so he went off. I don't blame him one bit.

Eddie Murphy once mocked Mike Tyson's high pitched voice in front of him on an award's show once. Howard Stern once told Magic Johnson to his face that he must've had a lot of fun getting AIDS. These comedians don't care. If there's an elephant in the room, they will poke it. Chris is no different. Let's wait to see if The Rock ever gets nominated and Chris is the host. I agree with Joe Torry. The wife and kids should be off limits, especially at an event like the Oscars. The Oscars isn't some crusty comedy club. Winning an Academy Award is often considered the most prestigious honor you can receive in Hollywood. Smith is only the fifth Black man to win the Academy Award for best actor, following in the footsteps of the late Sidney Poitier, Washington, Forest Whitaker, and Jamie Foxx. It should have been a wonderfully historic night for the community where Smith could be praised, honored and celebrated for his incredible portrayal of the father of two of the greatest female athletes. Instead, Chris Rock went out of his way to target Will's wife in a negative way. Why? Perhaps the 'powers that be' gave Chris the green light to go after Jada AGAIN because she had called for that boycott some years back. Payback? There could also be a personal reason as to why Chris keeps targeting Jada. It could be a combination of both.
So, you'd have gone up there and slapped him too. And decimated your entire career, and done it for a woman for whom most folks don't exactly respect for her personal behavior either? I'd have gone and taken the microphone from Chris, and made fun of his sorry marriage, his entire sorry life as he was never able to defend himself in school due to his scrawny body, and likely because of his screechy voice, etc...and Smith has the talent to do this with great effect. But instead he ruined his career, and lowered the value of the show IMO. The fact that he was allowed to stay there and be applauded later for his award is actually quite sick IMO.

What annoys Me about that whole situation is that people seem to either have selective memories, (which is inexcusable), OR they lack the knowledge of the disrespectful "joke" that Chris Rock told at Jada's expense at the 2016 Oscars, (which I can excuse so will enlighten people on). Back in 2016, Jada campaigned to boycott the Oscar's do to lack of diversity, a stance she took FOR OUR PEOPLE. Chris took it upon himself to poke fun at Jada for doing so claiming she wasn't invited, something that I, as a Black person found in extremely poor taste since it just tickled the hell out of all the white people in attendance. I found the "joke" having a disgusting "Uncle Tom" feel to it and for those who want say it was just a joke, I don't take lightly to puns made at My people's expense. It is this incident, and the subsequent wisecracking again at Jada's expense at last year's Oscar's that saw Will smack the taste out of Chris' mouth. The only reason that I, as a continued fan of Will's, have a problem with him smacking Chris is that it put a huge blight on his Oscar win which he had been waiting for and deserving of for so long and the incident put a huge damper on a movie made in homage to and acknowledgement of the history making Williams sisters and their father's accomplishment in creating not one but two legends.
