Another thing, Erik wasn't using pronouns when he was talking to Wilhelm about his crush. The actor of Erik and director said that was deliberate, as Erik may already be suspecting that Wilhelm could be into boys. And it's clear he would be supportive. It's even more of a shame that he'll never meet Simon. :/
I noticed this while I was editing, he really did seem like a nice guy 😢
@@HarryAllen9 Yes, yes, yes..... if we get a season 2 (and everybody will be throwing hands if we don't), it will be really really sad to not have Erik in it. Would have loved to see more of their dynamic. :(

The way this series gives you crumbs of happiness then takes it away, then rinse and repeat.
What I noticed on my many rewatches (LOL!) is that Wilhelm's phone was ringing when he and Simon were discussing the wkend ......that was either his mother, the Queen, or someone from the palace trying to contact him. Reason she ended up calling the school direct
Or it was Erik, trying to contact him in his las seconds of life and Wille was just like, no bestie not now.
oh my the level of details of this show is incredible! and it's crazy you noticed! I'm doing a lot of rewatches too and everytime I notice something more, plus the more I watch the more I feel like these actors are so talented and genuine.

The quick way Simon says ”right” when Wilhelm says he is not like that. As a non-straight person, I recognize that situation so much, the way you immediately back away so the other person won’t feel threatened or outed or insulted. Perfectly written and acted scene, like all scenes with Simon and Wilhelm.
It´s even more sad when you remember that one of the last things Willhelm said to Erik IN PERSON was "Don´t leave me" (in EP1)... I knew something was going to happen to him when Wille said that.
Yes, and the reporter asking them to switch places on the sofa was also foreshadowing 😭
@@sapphiro I just took that as the media trying to pretend the queen cared more about Wille than precedence, (the order of importance, which is also the order you walk in and so enter a room in and apparently even sit). Of course it's a complete media fabrication.
I suspected it from the beginning because the premise of the show is that Wille is the prince, but not the crown prince, so I assumed something would happen to the actual crown prince because otherwise the whole premise doesn't make sense. But I knew Erik was gonna pass for sure when I saw their phone call in episode 3. The fact that Wilhelm just hung up on him and told him to fuck off was also a pretty obvious give-away. There's just no way we're getting a supportive older brother who would definitely stand with Wilhelm, it is a TV show after all lol.
@@sapphiro I thought it was also because he really didn't want to sit next to his mother but the foreshadowing is true too. Especially how reluctant he was to take that place.
You can say 'god I love them' as much as you want... it's what were all thinking! 🥰
What I love about the conflicts in this show is that we understand all of the characters’ motivations and reasons, even if we may not entirely agree with them. We understand why Sara spills the beans to Felice’s parents (because she likely doesn’t understand the full impact of what she’s saying), why Felice kisses Wilhelm (because she is into him and misreads the signals he’s sending), why August doesn’t want to sell of his estate (probably several reasons, but it may have to do with his heritage, status, family legacy, pride, etc), why Simon attacks August (because he needs money to pay for stuff, and August basically scammed him). This makes us more capable of empathizing with and understand the characters, and I really love that.
erik would of been supportive 100% notice how he didn’t say she or her? he just said crush.

I was devastated about Erik, not only because now Wille is the crown prince but because he was the only family Wille actually had, all the pressure he feels he could share with him and now he's gone.
Can't wait for ep4 reaction, its my favorite one and also the one that made me cry the most. Love your reactions ❤️

PS: I think I am the only one so far who saw Wilhelm checking Simon out in the changing room after the rowing. His eyes were wandering and he realised what he was doing and it was confusing him even more. I think then and there he really starts to realise that he's also attracted to him physically.

@@tanyakrotowa also especially since they asked to forget what happened and like most romance films anyways,when asked to forget about a kiss, they usually go a while without talking so I interpreted that scene as the fact that Wilhelm was hurt from them not talking and he is kinda expecting simon to say something first but nun was said and then august said smth and he lost the opportunity to. What do u think

I like how Simon is always pushing Wille to be true to himself. Like in this episode before Simon brings up the kiss after they had their sweet moment at the piano, Wille was happy to vibe with Simon and to spend time together and see what played out. By not discussing it, he could still sort of keep himself from seeing this thing with Simon as more than friendship, but Simon brings up the kiss and Wille can't deal. He must confront his own feelings and accept them and he's done so by the time he comes to Simon in the gym. The way he awkwardly brings up the weekend idea with Simon, who really makes him say it, challenges him by not taking the hint and by even asking him "what about what you said before?" made for such good payoff when we get that intense eye contact of Wille's when he says, "I take that back."
I love how when he sees everyone on the phone the first thing he said "DIDD SOMEBODY DIE!!!!!?"
The ending of episode 3 is seriously so painful but I expected it to happen because I was like

Your reaction is literally me when I watched this show. It's honestly soooo good. It has taken over my life. And yes they need a season 2. Netflix better recognize what a gem they have with this and make an announcement soon. Loved your reaction and can't wait for episode 4!!

That’s one of the many things I love about this show and about Wilhelm, he never tries to be with a girl to suppress his feelings for Simon, for a boy. I need season 2 now or I will go crazy!!!!!
This is a year late, but still... The song Simon was playing in the beginning was the same song he sang in episode 1. That was why Wilhelm went to check it.
They really balance the love and cuteness with heavy angst don’t they 😭😭😭

Yeah, I thought it was just an insanely weird moment for them. Everyone is looking at them and commenting, and yet no-one outside of the two of them could possibly know why Wille was leaving campus, could they, could they?

I was binging this show probably 4 times now and I neeeeeed more!
I feel a bit sad that i haven't seen any people who speak Swedish react to this show because you can't really appreciate the specific word choices. Like how Sara uses the word "puss" which does translate to kiss but its more like peck or something more innocent. Or that Erik uses "Ragg" which the show translates to crush. It comes from the verb "Ragga" which sort of translates to flirt (Correct me if i'm wrong) so it refers to someone that he is flirting with. There are probably more examples but can't think of any more right now.
Edit: I just remembered that all the swears don't get translated. I feel like Swedish teens swear a lot casually and that didn't really come across from the subtitles.

I can't believe I didn't see it coming but I was so shook by that ending.
As a Swede I really dislike the translation on ragg, I have never heard anyone use ragg as crush, it translates more to a hook up in my opinion at least that is the only way I see it used. We don't really have a word for crush, we usually just use the english word crush if we have one.

In the scene with August and his mom I was the exact opposite! I was really mad at her for multiple reasons! August runs around the school like he's "Big Shit Poppin", but he's child and is basically an orphan IMO. I was done with the mom when she let her child find out that his tuition wasn't paid from the school staff! This boy tragically lost his father but she fixed her lips to tell his child to sell the things he left him?!!!!? No child would have positive a reaction to that! August's mom is trash. I have more thoughts on her but I don't want to take to much of everyone's time!
She is trash and her behavior contributes to why August reacts and does things to make everyone else think he's "King Shit"!!
She is definitely not a good person for the things she did and the lack of communication with her own child. I think what made me more annoyed at August in the moment was the sheer lack of understanding that this school is hella expensive and he has so much of his own stuff (left to him) that he can sell but he was just utterly refusing. Imo both parties are in the wrong but like you said, the mother had handled that very poorly!
Not to mention that his mother sent him to that school, all by himself, after his father killed himself. The time that August would need his other parent, need someone to be there for him, and she just shipped him off to deal with it on his own. That also means that his father's death happened relatively recently, at least three years prior to this. Which might be enough time to have figured out ways to deal with the grief and the pain, but not long enough to have truly moved on from it. He really should be going to therapy and be supported by people that genuinely care for him, for which he has none.

He is the second cousin. We are not sure. We will discover it in season 2 I guess.

Actually, I would like the show to be limited to 2 seasons. As I want Simon and Wilhem to end up happy in season 2 for good without any further curve balls. And there. Happy ending. On Young Royals. Sounds realistic?
I think they need 3 seasons. In season 2 they will focus on Wilhelm getting revenge from August and starting to be a trouble for the monarchy. In season 3, they will focus on monarchy, public and media attention. Wilhelm will go public with Simon in season 3, I think. We will see what will happen.
