    What is the total weight of your new Kaz 1652, gas ,battery, gear and you.. How much water will the boat draft on a drift. How skinny can you run under power ? Why did you choose a 1652 vs a 1656.
    Thank's

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As it sits in the water full on gas(13 gallons) and me in it will be roughly 1200 pounds (I'm 210). I have yet to measure the draft. As far as shallow goes this video here probably showes that. Probably need 3 or more inches to stay under power. With a 52 inch hull you can stay one piece hull vs a 3 piece.

    Good explanation Dennis. So many people seem to want to set thier trim and forget it.. Im constantly trimming up or down as I speed up or slow down. I also trim down just slightly to get a little better bite setting up for a tight turn, and slow down slightly so I can use the throttle to power thru the turn. If ur wide open and u cant make the turn thats it. If u have a little throttle left u can give her some gas and use the thrust to help turn.

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Save some throttle and trim down for hard turns.

      Not on the small 25 and 30s but on anything bigger yes. Trim can be added to the smaller ones.

    It seems like a jack plate to bring the whole thing up 2~3" would really get the outboard up out the way. With a guy in the rear plus gear weight I would assume you could raise at least 2" and the water intake still be adequately submerged - am I wrong?

    • @2cthetruth
      @2cthetruth 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just don’t use the motor at all..I don’t even put a motor on my boat and can glide across the rocks without having to worry about a stupid motor to break. A haha a haha ha.

    • @nathanh.4564
      @nathanh.4564 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is incorrect, the water doesn’t rise that quickly, and when you’re on plan the water is pretty much level with the boat

    • @kerrytodd3753
      @kerrytodd3753 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it’s dependent on the speed you’re traveling…..that’s why adjustments are needed on the fly. The water definitely rises, how much is variable depending on speed of the vessel. Hth

Cant seem to figure out why the boats running way slower besides weight slowing it down in the front

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  ปีที่แล้ว

      @evanwoyke interesting. I'm not sure without seeing or riding in the boat. Sounds like the added weigh caused a bunch of drag. What type of hull do you have?

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I had a tunnel in my Blue Blazer and shortly after buying it weld it up flat. Made everything about the boat better. You can not run shallower with a tunnel. Yes it will give you some protection of hitting your intake.
