There was a tough period in my life around February-March 2021 when I was so numbed by e-lessons and phone abuse that I basically didn't leave the house at all. It was also the time I explored Haken and Affinity in particular. One day I decided to climb a hill in the middle of my district to clear up my thoughts a bit. I wasn't listening to anything at the time, but as soon as I heard The Architect before sleep that day, the landscape from that hill washed over me and brought blissful serenity. Now this memory and the song are tied together forever... Thank you guys, my life wouldn't be the same without The Architect.
I feel you, I myself have a memory tied to a song, that will always bring me a sensation of freedom, just one time when I drove my car between grasslands on a beautiful sunny morning.
Hi Mateusz, hope you are doing better now. Haken certainly functions as a bright light in my life too. Could you please tell me what e-lessons and phone abuse are? E-learning = online learning/classes? Phone abuse = too much screen time and social media?
@@robertsolem9234 by e-lessons I mean remote school because of the pandemic. And phone abuse is pretty much getting addicted to social media outlets which kills all productivity.
Ingala Sacha yes the first time I had listened to this part I immediately thought of Drapery Falls The scream Parts are by EINARD From leprous Btw one of the greates song by Haken

Thanks Mateusz - thanks for expanding on that :) Take good care and forever Haken!
I love listening to Danny sing, so when he mentioned this song, I had to look it up, totally worth it.
Who's Danny? The lead singer's name is Ross...
@@ragdadsolby267 I’m assuming he meant Dan Avidan from Game Grumps lol he sang part of this song in an episode

I'd have played it 10 times more through the song 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

13:54 is the goosebump moment of this album .
I get goosebumps from the start of the final chorus to the end of the song.
2:48 ahhw, the ’80s
8:27 - I think I heard that in some Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson song
loving the song btw
MASTERPIECE 💖
That ending is just perfection
6:46 THE LICK !!!
10:15 Opeth - The Drapery Falls
Yes! The two first chords of that progression are the same as "The Drapery Falls" main riff.
Lol I was thinking the same
Ingala Sacha yes the first time I had listened to this part I immediately thought of Drapery Falls

Btw one of the greates song by Haken
What's funny about this song is that you can hear:
Dream Theater 1:08 - 1:48
Tool/Perfect Circle 4:25
Opeth 10:24
Leprous 10:46
Denver COder meshuggah 12:40
7:14 reminds me to Tool-Rosetta Stoned
There's a strange feeling washing over me...
As if I am drifting on...
The waves of a boundless sea...
Muy bueno!
That intro reminds me adam neely's tunes
12:18 riff cost me multiple sets of blown out speakers.
Entirely reasonable.
I am completely blown away by this!

Caught a glimpse of the ending to our story
'I'm sorry I haven't called you recently'
It's not surprising
I'll just learn the lesson
Take some time to process the evidence
And analyze your apathy
You turned your back on affinity
Now it's turned to toxicity
Spare me your obsolete empathy
The voice of sympathy means nothing to me
Delete all obsolete memories
Shores of tranquility
My monastery
We played the game of imitation
I met your stare with blank expression
I count the years of isolation
Since you set my mind in motion
And to eliminate the silence
I calculate to cure the virus
A panacea for the poison
The solution is wrong
Well you turned your back
Turned your back on affinity
And now it's turning to
Turning to toxicity
Spare me your obsolete empathy
The voice of sympathy means nothing to me
Delete obsolete memories
In a dying sun
I'll become affinity
There's a strange feeling washing over me
As if I am drifting
On the waves of a boundless sea
All embracing
Some say that time and tide will wait for no man
I stop and hold a single grain of sand
To see a world in the palm of my hand
Strive to break free from the confines of my mind
Step through the doorway of perception
To lose all sense of past and future
Omnipresent endless knot
The architect of every thought
Through the prison walls made by your design
A chameleon hides behind Orwellian eyes
Spare me your obsolete empathy
The voice of sympathy means nothing to me
Delete all obsolete memories
In a dying sun
When you're gone
I'll become affinity
Oh hear this vow
Tied together forever
We'll make this dream
Last forever and ever

Solberg's scream is easily the best part of the song
