I have 65 watts gan charger for my phone and smart watch, i just curious and plug in to my legion slim 7, and it works on quite mode with conservation mode 😂
There are some 200w chargers, i think its included in the thinderbolt 5 standard, but pickup on wondows sode os slow because of the huge bandwith support cost money.
Supposing to be able to charge the laptop via type c/thunderbolt but i am suspecting there's not enough power going into the port via the 140w charger. Where do you find those 200w? Most of them stated 200w but so far those that i found was just not true 200w. Something like 100+100 or 140+60 ports
Your ThinkPad USB-C is expecting 140W from an incoming USB-C that is delivery 20V and 7A. Its likely that this 140W combination is not supported on the UGREEN. Try powering down the laptop and leave it to charge from the UGREEN and you might just be able to charge its battery albeit very slowly but at least you didn't waste your $$$. Will be happy to hear if this helped.
Just some certain chargers works in Lenovo laptops. I have a Legion Slim 5 and the Lenovo`s 135/140w chargers are supported. I've tested a Xiaomi 120w phone charger and it also works but just up to 100w.
I'm guessing a 135/140w charger is output sufficient power for the 170w Legion Slim 5. But a 140w charger to power a 230w Thinkpad P16 is just too low power
I just got the slim 5 14 inch one and the included charger is 170w 20v. This 140w that is available to buy and use the USB C to charge it would be nice as it's more compact and can also charge my phone at same time. No big difference in wattage but I'm not sure if it's similar speed ar charging. Not really concerned about how fast it charges but for me it's that once it's charging and the battery won't go down while I'm using the laptop while charging is a win for me. So how is it with the charging speed? Noticeable difference?
@@yokechyethe Lenovo slim 5 dont come with the new thunderbolt 4.0 (USB C but more powerful) so maybe that's why it's not transfering enough Watts to charge it
I think you need to go with Lenovo Legion (2024) 140W USB-C cable, cause their protocol is not per standard PD3, PD3.1.

I tried to charge my thinkpad overnight while it is powered down. doesn't charge at all. :/

its not the rated power issue. Thinkpad P16 does not support USB PD "in".

Its going to be periferals power isn't it? I mean with nothing drapwing power though your usb ports, a lower power charger might survive.

Unless there's a true 240w output charger on a single port, I don't think it will work on this Lenovo thinkpad that requires high 230w input
