Should You Buy It? LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (71374)

  • How does the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) look, function, and compare to the original? I go over everything I could think of, from Easter eggs, to showing animated diagrams of the working mechanisms inside. Plus, I take a brief look at how it works with Mario from the Adventures with Mario Starter Course set 71360.
Special thanks to my dad for helping me use his equipment and photo studio! This was more of a proof-of-concept review, and I know it’s pretty late, but I’m just learning the ropes. Also, I didn’t keep track of the digital building/importing process, but the animating and rendering for the cartridge loading mechanism took at least four hours, so uh, hopefully it was worth it 🤷‍♂️. Yesterday I recorded the voiceover (twice, because there was too much reverb the first time) edited from 10:30am to 2:30am. Yikes!

Ahhhhhh THANK YOU for that 3D model demonstration! I had a very vague idea of how it actually worked but this makes it super clear, and really acknowledges the smart design of the set. Awesome review!

You deserve so many more subs man. The quality and effort of these vids are incredible. Did you make the 3-D model yourself

I absolutely love the highly professional and succinct style your videos have. Also, please do make a video on LEGO and parallel thinking! I think it would be really beneficial to many LEGO fans of understanding the line between copying and just having the same idea.

Thank you so much for the detailed visuals and description of the mechanisms! You're making some really amazing content and now I want to pick up this set even more than I already did. Mario 1 and 3 were and continue to be my favorite 8-bit games :-)

Great videos so far! Instantly subscribed! About the hot subject, I'm afraid Lego took advantage of a fan's idea, there is no other way to look at this, is too similar to think otherwise. And unfortunately is not the first not even the 10th time...

So much work went into this video, well done on a great effort! - I did not know about the guy from Beyond The Brick. It's certainly very similar, and I think a jury may be swayed in voting that Lego did copy it. A TV set, a scrolling screen, same game, similar theme and colours... There's simply too many similar elements (Ref: 8:53).
