FedEx Ground Contractor, (34 years now), A typical day in our office

  • I've been told that I'm the longest-tenured linehaul contractor in the US. I started with RPS/FedEx Ground in 1987 and have continually grown the business. I started out with a package van but after a few months switched to linehaul and have continued to grow the business ever since. It's been a good life and we hope to continue on for several years to come. We are in multiple locations and still see a lot of potential for opportunity. UPDATE : November 2020. As of November 2020 we have sold our companies to another FedEx Contractor. Back in August I had a health scare (heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery) which made me re-evaluate my life and career. 34 years is enough to dedicate to a career. We are now enjoying retirement.

Enjoyed your video I was a FedEx contractor got with them thru RPS if you remember that group, now that was a great company made good money and invested as much as possible I enjoyed FedEx but never had any desire to add on anymore trucks with them just kept my one truck and kept investing ML was my friend retired in 13 with good health sold my route live nicely off my investments, I learned early on that if you want it you got to work for it and keep a positive attitude I am seventy seven now and life is good ,one other thing treat your drivers well they are the reason for your good days😉

Nice video. This is stuff that drivers hear about, but dont really get to see from the office viewpoint. That Lytx drive camera . We now have in/out cameras with dump truck fleet. When the boss can save $70,000. per year on insurance by having them , it will be done!.Ours dont record when park brake is set. But drivers wish they did because of the crashes that happen from mainline traffic on these interstate hwy jobs. We've lost count of the cars that fly sideways and land in the highway hole we're working in.Barrels flying is too common.

The cameras are a fact of life for the FedEx Ground contractors. Love them or hate them, it's the way of the future because of all the insurance claims.

Hi Mike! I've watched several of your videos and really enjoyed this one which provides an inside look at your operation. It's extremely impressive to see what you have built. I am just getting started in the trucking industry and may have the opportunity to work as a linehaul contractor with FedEx. I would enjoy the opportunity to speak with you about this if you have a moment.
