I have enjoyed this boat build and the details you go through so we have a clear understanding. I have done some electrical work on my boat and your videos have been a big help. Thank you!
I love how you put everything together. Details are very clear. That motor is bad a**. I have a fiberglass boat. Im looking for someone to my boat. Any suggestions on what i can do. Any information will help. Thanks for the content
Batteries are heavy, 104 lb. for each of 4 batters for the ELCO 20HP. The motor weighs 85 lbs. You might want two strong helpers to deal with these parts. And you must be sure your boat will support that much weight in the rear end. This hardware takes nearly 500 pounds off your rated weight carrying capacity for the boat.
I ordered a 36 volt 120 lb thrust minnkota trolling motor that mounts to my cavitation plate on my outboard....on that same day I ordered a Dakota Lithium 36 volt battery ( which is three 12 volt batteries wired in series on May 17th ) ....today is June 25th.......I still don't have my lithium batteries.....curious is you all here are seeing a supply chain issue with lithium batteries? Also I would strongly recommend locking that battery to the boat if you leave it unguarded.....$1500 for a lithium battery would make for a bad day if came up missing once returning from lunch.
I recently ordered Lithium batteries from Amped Outdoors and they literally showed up three days later. So I guess it's all about who you order them from. I did lock the battery down. Just didn't show it in the video. But thanks for looking out. 👍🏾
Dang I’m really interested in running electric, but this setup seems pretty heavy and costly compared to a Torqueedo or ePropulsion - granted those aren’t quite as powerful.

Thanks man. 👍🏾🤙🏾
This is a pretty interesting piece of kit! Thanks!!
Very detailed video. I am expecting my Elco 20 hp motor within a week.
Nice. Is that a 48 volt or higher?
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV It is a 48 volt motor. I have built a solar electric catamaran that it will be powering. See my TH-cam channel for videos.
@@philboyer2036 I see. Boat looks awesome. Great for the family.

What size boat is it?
Like that setup! Weight of battery? Weight of outboard?

How many hours can you run aat full speed ?
I don't own this boat. I just did the build out for a customer. Most electric motors will run for 1 to 1 - 1/2 hours at full speed.
