Zodiac Mosaics and Early Judaism

You may be familiar with the zodiac and it's link with astrology. While astrology and star signs has seen a bit of a resurgence in recent years a lot of people still regard it as something like "mystical nonsense." But the zodiac appears in some surprising places. Today we'll look at the zodiac as it appears on Jewish synagogue floors from the 4th-6th centuries. We'll explore the sites where it appears and we'll offer a few ideas on what it's significance was. Let's dig in.

Let’s look at the biblical chronology.
1-Moses telling the people to no longer worship the golden calf/bull (Taurus)
2-People are then instructed to blow a rams horn (Aries)
3-Then comes Jesus. References over and over to Jesus and fish, such as feeding the multitude with two fish (Pisces). And let’s remember, the absolute oldest church ever found in the holy land was discovered during a dig in Megiddo/Armageddon. On the floor of this oldest church ever was a huge mosaic on the floor of two fish going in opposite directions, that looks exactly like the symbol of Pisces. There wasn’t a cross, it was two fish.
4-Next, Jesus tells he’s followers to go to the house of the man bearing the pitcher of water, and follow him into it. A clear and obvious reference to aquarius the water bearer.
Now take a look at the zodiac. In order you will see -> Taurus, Aries, Pisces, Aquarius
It’s clearly Astrotheology.

Not really.
Navigating by stars isn't astrology, it's navigating. Also the Bible never gives a number of how many there were. The Magi were astrologers though, it's just not true if someone follows a star, then that's astrology.

If I looke up the four people who declare the zodiac to only have a symbolic interpretation, Gooenough, Magness, Avigad and Weiss, will I find any that are either ardent christians or jews? Bet I will. I personally ddon't trust anyone from the Abrahamic religions to evaluate artifacts regarding their own religious strain. Especially problematic ones like a zodiac in a religion who is supposedly monolithic and impervious to outside syncretic influence. Which of course they were, apologists and biblical literature protests not withstanding.

As a Christian, i am ashamed that some Christians are willing to replace their God with Israel. God is the truth.

The sun, moon and stars were ordained at creation as witness to the earth for His appointed times.

Isaiah 9.14-15, describes Israel (summer) as Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio. The royal/noble one is the head (Lion) and the liar (Scorpio) is the tail .
