I've watched this reaction a bunch of times since you posted it, can't get enough of it. Thank you for not only the reaction, but just as importantly, for your honesty about not liking some of the songs preceding it (I also wasn't a fan). It would be so easy as a diehard fan to stay biased and give them a pass and call everything 'good' or 'great', but it's not necessarily easy to post a negative opinion knowing a lot of the Metallifamily could potentially see it. And I bet having your expectations lowered a bit before listening to it probably hyped you up even more during the song eh?! Great stuff! EDIT: I almost forgot to mention that this one has broken into my top 5 Metallica songs and I'm not afraid to say it.

Yeah man, diehard fans don't have to like every song the same, it should be ok to disagree without getting backlash - assuming that those who are disagreeing aren't just trolling and trashing the band in general for no legit reasons. They have a large enough following, big enough catalog, and a good amount of variety for everyone to be able to enjoy different things at times. Take care of yourself first and foremost!

I love how universally loved this song has been. Whether people expect a lot, or little of it, they are always left awestruck. It's just a constant bombardment of amazing riffs and vocals. I love all of the other songs on the album, but this one never fails to get the blood pumping

This song have all the stuff, that back in the day turned me into a huge Metallica fan. The amazing thrash riffs, tempo changes and masterful song structure, that Metallica was so skilled at back in the day. Hope they play this song when i go see them in March. Loved your reaction, mine was about the same. Although i still love a lot of the stuff they did after the Justice album, it never could reach that level of the first 4 albums. This reaction video really moved me. Yes, MOVED me. It's probably the nth time I watch it, and I recently even shared it with my best friend, with whom I went and saw Metallica for the 1st time in 1992 during the Nowhere Else to Roam Tour, so yes, we're old farts :D in a good way, obviously - we're the old school, we're the nostalgic, we're the ones who from time to time would open THAT drawer and pull out THOSE concert tickets from back in the day when everything was about having a hero, a favourite band, a favourite genre, when file sharing was done with cassette duplication at best.. All this just to say: seeing your persona change DURING THIS VIDEO from a mid-30s maybe? old school metal fan which understands that those days are gone, and those were the days of our lives, as Freddie would've said... to a hysterical, overjoyed, almost frenzied child which seems on the verge of breaking into tears of joy and nostalgia... well DAMN man, this thing moves me, makes me feel old but happy to have lived my musical youth with passion and love for my heroes back in the days. I love how you're in disbelief about the bass, like yo I think that was a bass, lol. My reaction the first time I heard this song was almost identical though. I had listened to about half of the songs from the album and honestly felt like while every song had its good parts, overall it didn't get me excited. But then hearing this one made me jump out of my seat, grit my teeth and bang my head like a teenager.

Well, I ain´t no expert or producer at all, but I have read so many comments on my REACTION videos from all the songs on this album and so many people have written so many comparisions with older ´Tallica songs that after I read them and did my homework, 99% of these were actually true..... So I could agree with you as well... :)
I still enjoy the new stuff quite a bit, but the classics will forever be, well, classics lol, this album definitely at least has a more classic sound to me, which is a VERY good thing

I love them all except for maybe 2 songs. Not that they are bad. They just don't seem to really grab you like the others. Those two songs are halo on fire and murder one. I'll be honest though, It took me a few listens of the whole album to really get to how I feel about it today. Excellent album. Best I've heard from them since the black album. Even though death magnetic had some good songs but not as good as most of these. I think death magnetic if it had the same production as this album it could had been just as good if not maybe better. I love the drum sound on this new album too. Nice big thump and crack sound. If I had to pick one thing that I think they should had done on this album sound wise is they should had made it sound more tough and dark. Maybe the next album in 8 years lol.

This song have all the stuff, that back in the day turned me into a huge Metallica fan. The amazing thrash riffs, tempo changes and masterful song structure, that Metallica was so skilled at back in the day. Hope they play this song when i go see them in March. Loved your reaction, mine was about the same. Although i still love a lot of the stuff they did after the Justice album, it never could reach that level of the first 4 albums. It's probably the nth time I watch it, and I recently even shared it with my best friend, with whom I went and saw Metallica for the 1st time in 1992 during the Nowhere Else to Roam Tour, so yes, we're old farts :D in a good way, obviously - we're the old school, we're the nostalgic, we're the ones who from time to time would open THAT drawer and pull out THOSE concert tickets from back in the day when everything was about having a hero, a favourite band, a favourite genre, when file sharing was done with cassette duplication at best..

I love how you're in disbelief about the bass, like yo I think that was a bass, lol. My reaction the first time I heard this song was almost identical though. I had listened to about half of the songs from the album and honestly felt like while every song had its good parts, overall it didn't get me excited. Well, I ain´t no expert or producer at all, but I have read so many comments on my REACTION videos from all the songs on this album and so many people have written so many comparisions with older ´Tallica songs that after I read them and did my homework, 99% of these were actually true..... So I could agree with you as well... :)
I still enjoy the new stuff quite a bit, but the classics will forever be, well, classics lol, this album definitely at least has a more classic sound to me, which is a VERY good thing

I love them all except for maybe 2 songs. Not that they are bad. They just don't seem to really grab you like the others. Those two songs are halo on fire and murder one. I'll be honest though, It took me a few listens of the whole album to really get to how I feel about it today. Excellent album. Best I've heard from them since the black album. Even though death magnetic had some good songs but not as good as most of these. I think death magnetic if it had the same production as this album it could had been just as good if not maybe better. I love the drum sound on this new album too. Nice big thump and crack sound. If I had to pick one thing that I think they should had done on this album sound wise is they should had made it sound more tough and dark. Maybe the next album in 8 years lol.
