Agree with another comment, making my first box that needed actual hinges, this was exactly the basic and simple video I needed. You might not have thought it was up to much, but for me this is pure gold. Thanks.
excellent--thank you so much! first time installing surface mount hinges and have had a devil of a time finding a video that clearly showed the hinge placement and even how they opened and closed after installed. love the idea of attaching one side to the top and one side of the hinges to the bottom. clever.
I'm very surprised you mounted the hinges with the top and bottom sections clamped together. My experience is that if I attach the hinges like that, the front end does not close completed because it is binding in the back. If the wood expands at all, the effect is worse. I usually make sure there is a 1/32" gap between the top and bottom by inserting a piece of veneer before installing the hinges. YMMV.
There's a lot of play in those hinges, but i see what you're saying. and the screws are not completely over torqued down so there's a little movement there if need be too.

Not sure where those came from i had them in a drawer, so maybe depot? or amazon
