These ladies were the real deal. Too bad they didn't get the recognition they deserved. Oh well, at least some of us knew of their greatness and enjoyed it while it lasted (and relive in on the internet). Great concert footage! Alison's playing is awesome. Those intro's, riffs and solo's are kickass!
The problem is that at the time when it came to female music artists it was all the about the look and not so much the talent and these girls had both the sex appeal and talent where someone like Britney Spears was all about the sex appeal and not so much the talent.
Alison is always a pleasure to listen to. Much talent. They all have so much talent and I miss this band a lot.

Allison Robertson is an amazing guitarist. She blows my mind. All original and she feels what she plays. One of the best guitarists ever. Rah! Her sound is second to nun.

Torry was such an invaluable presence on stage. She's so into what she does and clearly loving it, most of the time singing along with the lyrics just to herself, and then there's stuff like this: 52:04
Even after 50 minutes of playing she's still bringing energy like that.

Allison is absolutely one of the best Rock players alive
I was lucky enough to see them at the El Rey in Los Angeles in 2006. They rock as hard as AC/DC and I have seen them 12 times.

Saw them live. So good. Donna C was like watching Animal from the muppets! She break a stick mid song and didn’t miss a beat. Such a fun show and like everyone else commenting I wish they were still around. They rock and have fun which is the point of being a kick ass band!

I discovered The Donnas a year after this concert. They should have been far more successful, they were a really good hard rock band. Tory's shoulder injury was such a shame also.

@@ValerieToumayan i just found it today refreshing you tube. i seen the donnas in 2008 in petaluma. torry c wasnt drumming. i wonder if this was one of torrys last concerts she performed in?

Hell of a show! I wish that they had lasted longer -- and that Atlantic backed them finally, but had less control of the product (the initial Atlantic release is excepted, since it was fantastic)!!

Great band. Even though I'm a guitarist and really rate Ali Robertson, I've got a soft spot for Torry Castellano, she's like a little dynamo. Shades of Keith Moon and Animal from the Muppets.
Torry is on my Mount Rushmore of drummers simply because of how into it she gets. I just can't stop watching her play when she's on camera.

incredible footage!!! I remember meeting the Donnas Back at 2002 or 2001 Vans Warped Tour in Calgary AB Canada! What did you film this with and how did you tape the audio? It sounds like it is straight off the board being that good of quality. Were you working at the venue at the time of filming this or?
Hi, Thanks! It is. Soundboard mixed with ambiance. I don't remember what camera I had back then, but it was on DV tape
@@ValerieToumayan that is incredible. How did you obtain the soundboard mix of it? And dv tape ok. I still have my panasonic camera from back then that took dv tapes
@@btbam666 well at that time i asked the band if i could film the show, and so I was able to get the soundboard fee for the recording. That how i always do :)
@@ValerieToumayan that is crazy! how the heck did they give you a copy of the audio? did you give them a usb drive and say copy it on there or a cassette tape or something?
@@btbam666 No I just plugged my recorder to the soundboard with an XLR cable, that's how I always do. I must have asked them if i could do it, i don't remember, but i always record concerts that i filmed that way :)

Interesting that these ladies saw early on that the only money to be made in the post file-sharing era would be in touring and merchandising…and they didn’t want to get stuck in that rut. I say good for them.

@@davidjackson2690 , seems they slowly lost the drive, when the drummer had to quit based on problems with wrists and a shoulder. The 4 girls had been friends and a band since young teenager years. The singer said in a newer interview that non of the members was fan of the change in music were you as an artist now have to be very public on social medias.
Both the drummer and the singer have since got university degrees. Someone that apparently knew the bassist Maya wrote somewere that she had started studying art.
