Amazing I always wondered how the game flow. I started old stalker, never played clear sky, played pripyat, then played misery mod and went to with one or two in between as well, Anomaly>Gamma. the game stays alive with new mods and modmods, as there is still not much like it.
Fantastic video! I was obsessed with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. As a young teen, played some of the first game as a young adult, and never managed to finish the game or comprehend the story, but still have been captivated by the universe the game is set in. This video has helped me gain a much clearer grasp on the story and lore of the franchise. This will most certainly make playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 more enjoyable for me personally. Thank you 🎉
I played the SoC back when it came out. But my computer at the time wasn't able to run it well. I recently played it to the end. What a story. And the atmosphere wow. Such a good game. I am part way through Clear Sky. I haven't beat it but I will be even though I'll be playing Stalker 2 in less than 24 hours! I will also play CoP. I wanted to beat all three games but I didn't manage to. I feel a bit disappointed in myself that I couldn't. Ah well it'll be like a history lesson when I go back to finish Clear Sky and play CoP after I've finished Stalker 2.
I played the stalker series like 100 times and still had issues understanding the whole story! All i can say is thanks for the video, keep up the good work! 😀
Was sent here by the r/stalker subreddit. Have played all three official STALKERs since launch, then discovered mods in about 2014 (Lost Alpha - I might have cried a little). Since then, it's been CoC, LA: Director's Cut, Autumn Aurora, Road to the North... So good to get a comprehensive view of the full history with some well-educated speculation filling in the gaps. Great to have a channel that concentrates on the lore rather than the mods. It's why I love the subreddit - there's a willingness to enter in to the lore, and play with the roleplay. It would be cool if Scar survived, was brainwashed by the Sea to serve Monolith, and then he became free once it was destroyed with him going back to being a mercenary
There a theory around that scar is Charon since in clear sky you see Strelok getting brainwashed from someone people thinking that your still in scar pov so he was brainwashed so people starting saying that maybe Charon is scar for the fact that they both have the same weapon and we know that his either dead during the raid or was captured whit the rest

Hard to experience after all those years. The reason Stalker was such a great game was the story-telling and the atmosphere, that were just revolutionary back then. Nowadays we've a ton of games with good storytelling. But it still is a great game. Imho, Streloks story is one of the big "I'm your father, luke"-moments of gaming.

One of the many things I like about this series is you can find some Cold War history or even Cold War myths like Soviet era labs in the zone and who doesn’t love wondering around Pripyat fighting monolith or fighting for them with mods
Part of Stalker story is literally real (not the story itself), since it's based on the Chernobyl disaster, for example some locations are based on real life structures.The exclusion zone, nuclear power plant etc, those events are similar to real life.

So i played Chernobylite before Stalker (no computer and grew up as a cod kid), and while watching this i realized it seems like that game is just the "can i copy your homework" meme of video games. In Chernobylite the inhabitants of the area are called stalkers, you're a professor that has memory loss and goes back to the zone looking for someone just to find out your main enemy was yourself that had made it into the power plant once before. I really hope at least some of the stalker team was involved but with stalker 2, i doubt it. Hopefully it wasnt just lazy work

I really enjoy your videos mate! I remember the days when the original Stalker: SoC was in development in the early 2000's. Huge fan of the series, and this video does an excellent job of putting the historical events & timeline together. I hope it's not too much to say, but I do have a suggestion for you. Please note, this is not a criticism at all. Your videos seem to be a little on the quiet side volume wise - while it's not problematic at all as I can adjust my volume, my suggestion is when you're in post-production you may want to consider testing a bit more gain on the overall sound for your videos. Again, just a suggestion, and your videos are already superb without it, so please don't take that as a criticism as it is not one. All the best.
Thanks for the feedback! I totally understand your sound problem. My videos used to be even more quiet in the past and I've increased the volume since then. Nobody complained anymore so I thought the issue was resolved. It's quite hard to tune because everyone has different hearing and uses different settings. But I'll try to add more gain in the future.

Just getting into the stalker series just bought the 3 games and downloaded anomaly. I’m like 40 hours in shadow of Chernobyl just messed with the brain scorcher and messed with the labs. The story and lore is so interesting and I was looking for a lore video. You’d came up. I’m 7 min in and I gotta say absolutely love the video so far.
Thank you so much for this video. In my teenage years I was a fan of STALKER, but only played through CoP, and I dont remember a whole lot of it besides a chimera, some scientists, an oasis artifact or whateveritwas, and finding Strelok's rifle, which was a SIG 55something or other. I've always been fascinated by the setting, but never gotten the whole picture. I like sandboxy games, so lore was never that important, but when I learned about Anomaly and GAMMA, I felt the call of Pripyat again. While I intend to enjoy the fantastically atmospheric free open world provided by GSC and the modding community (big props!) as I always hoped it would be, I felt compelled to know the full story and lore of the original games. I tried playing SoC, and I enjoyed it, but in my limited free time, I couldn't wait to jump straight into the modern Zone again, and I needed this recap to feel complete. I'm about to dive into my first entry into the Zone with GAMMA tonight, and your video cleared up a lot of questions and confusion (and sky!), I had about the story. So thank you again, this was a fantastic video, and a great kickoff into my inevitable brutal death. Good job!

There must have been a lot of work behind this video, and I have to admit that although I've been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games for a really long time, I completely missed some information. The only thing that struck me was that at the end when you talked about the future, you left out the possible building of a vehicle capable of driving in Zone conditions. But I understand that in your eyes it probably wasn't an important prediction, since after all vehicles from the army are commonly driven in the Zone.
It was a lot of work indeed. You are right, the development of such a vehicle by Nitro and Cardan is interesting, perhaps I should have mentionned it. In fact there are quite a few slides that I ended up removing from the timeline, because I could not go into too much details.
That was excellent! I've played Stalker Anomaly (along with Call of Chernobyl and Last Day) for thousands of hours. Was loving listening to this while traipsing around the zone.
Wow, a full story video. I expected to be the iceberg but I was really surprised to see a full story of the games, including the real life story of the event that took place. I had no idea that the games told so much information. Anomalous is like a wiki about the Zone. I watched the whole thing and I need more! Do not worry about 40+minute videos in the future, that one was great!
Very well edited! It's detailed without being to loaded, the effort on this one is visible! The wait was definitely worth it, although the introduction felt somewhat long due to the historical side of it, the other parts of the video are easy and pleasant to watch!

Smart way for gsc to keep a bucket full of ideas for they're future games.Some of the stories might be true and we might see it happen in stalker 2...you never know.
Glad I found what I was looking for, I wasn't sure about how much I knew of the story (Especially considering I found out about multiple endings in SoC a few days ago and got the true one today). Love how you structured it too, very appreciated!
This is brilliant stuff, I remember pouring over the lore for this game in the years building up to its release to the point where I was virtually obsessed with it. So this video is both entertaining and nostalgic for me. I am glad that it has become so popular, imho Stalker is the last, truly great PC game and even though the developers ultimately failed in terms of their ambitions they achieved so much that the game is still more than relevant today.

Wow, a full story video. I expected to be the iceberg but I was really surprised to see a full story of the games, including the real life story of the event that took place. I had no idea that the games told so much information. Anomalous is like a wiki about the Zone. I watched the whole thing and I need more! Do not worry about 40+minute videos in the future, that one was great!

Smart way for gsc to keep a bucket full of ideas for they're future games.Some of the stories might be true and we might see it happen in stalker 2...you never know.

This is brilliant stuff, I remember pouring over the lore for this game in the years building up to its release to the point where I was virtually obsessed with it. So this video is both entertaining and nostalgic for me.
I am glad that it has become so popular, imho Stalker is the last, truly great PC game and even though the developers ultimately failed in terms of their ambitions they achieved so much that the game is still more than relevant today.
I've played all 3 games way back in the days and only had vague grasps on the story.
