HI Robin. I've made numerous basket weave placemats, 18 inches by 14 inches finished, and the center is ALWAYS raised up slightly, usually I ignore it until I am two thirds done or more, then I go back, even it all out, then continue, stop, even it all out. It's just an aspect of basket weave style. Loved your video!
I wonder if you ran a tight cloth wrapped length of rope down the left and right side instead of the bar holding it straight with nails space a few inches apart down the wood and do the same on the first and last row. Then you could just slip it off the loom?
Can you show us the experimental rug. I would love to try this technique. The rug looks like it can be a thinner rug verses twined rug which can be a tripping hazard for me.
I've been trying to decide between a twining loom and a peg loom for "regular" weaving. This might be a great resolution to the dilemma! Am I on the right track?
Yes you can use the twining loom for different types of weaving so I think it's better to start with. Besides twining and regular weaving people have made tapestry type pieces too. I have a pegloom that I made and I like but I always go back to my twining loom. Let me know if you have questions
@@robinrongved3592 thank you for your quick replies! I had planned to make it/them adjustable, so I'm doing well on that part of the plan! Do you know of a good how-to for an adjustable twining loom,(for a non- carpenter!)?
I watched a bunch of videos on how to make one then drew a picture of what I wanted. My boyfriend made it from scrap wood and dowels. If you have a saw, drill and screw gun you can do it. I made a video of mine. Also don't forget some kind of legs or stand so you don't have to lean it against something
@@liadacrause6121 I'm sorry you're having trouble. Is it starting the actual weaving and attaching the weft at the beginning that's causing trouble? I'll try to make a quick short video that shows that part tomorrow after work.
I would love to learn just the ..not if strands are sticking out or anything little think that may anoy u. I so what to learn the art, then leter as I become better i will address the strand and folding the material, plz plz just the technique with out distractions. I have a short attention span when learning something new 😁

Thank you! I'm going to make another one soon. I really enjoyed it
Thank you! I'll try to make a video on my next rug.
Your rug looks very good . Can you show how to finish one? Would like to learn how. Thanks
You are talented.Thank you for sharing 🙏✝️🛐👍
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏 I didn’t know about the crochet to keep the ends together ( I made a large pot holder type loom for rugs)
How do you start and end the weft with this technique? Do you tie it somehow?
I tie the weft strip to the last warp with a small knot then weave the end back in. I start it the same. With a small knot. It doesn't show
@@robinrongved3592 Thanks! How wide are your strips? Mine are 2-2.5" and yours look like they are wider than mine. Just curious.
@@krisbizzarri2599 I'm going to try to make a video on how to start one. I've been busy with the garden. Thanks for watching my videos

It is a lot thinner but has held up well with washing . I'm not sure how to add a photo but I'll try to do a video of some of my finished rugs.
I guess I already have a video of this rug finished. You can see it's thinner.
@@robinrongved3592I can’t find it. 🫤

Also if you make or buy your loom get an adjustable one so you can make different size rugs and placemats.

This is the 17th video I have watched of various tutorials and still have no idea how to start. Is it a trade secret or something?

Great Video! What brand loom are you using and where can they be purchased?
We made this loom ourselves. I did a quick video about it. Thank you!
@@robinrongved3592 lovely work but some of us are not able to make our own, any suggestions for purchasing one?
@@1klouisek I'm not really sure who makes good ones. I've never bought one. I'm on a twining page on Facebook and people recommend them on there
thank you :-)
