In my whole life, nothing has ever got me more excited than the noise of a V10 F1 coming at you and going past. I am so glad the bulk of my time following real life F1 was during this era. I will never forget being woken up at my Hotel in Estoril in 1996 by the noise of V10's doing early morning free practice over 4km away at the circuit. You could hear it even with the windows closed. Incredible.
I know, right. I was the same, fortunate enough to live next to the Adelaide and Melbourne F1 track in Australia. Best background noise whilst having breakfast.

It legit took me around half of the video to start doubting if it's real! I think what makes it look so incredibly real is the camera movement. In F1 games we get these really still, stabilized, on-point camera movements that we just don't get in real life. Great graphics.

Well, there is a reason, why current F1 cars don't look like that. Probably more than one. The most important of them is, that it violates multiple F1 technical regulations and therefore would be quickly disqualified from race.
As the saying says : Form follow the function. There's also a matter of all sorts of regulations in F1. To me it looks like F1 visual elements were forced onto a very futuristic Le Mans prototype that didn't looked like an F1 in the first place, to make it look like an F1. I can't say I dont like it visually, though. I actually find it quite elegant. But...it feels slightly out of place. Same thing for engine sound. The most likely evolution would be something closer to what we have now, due to ecological regulations (transition?) and futur goals F1 wants to achieve toward this. The more electric there is, the less noise it makes. Engine sound will follow the function as well.

If it were not for rule changes F1 cars would most likely resemble the sort of prototype race cars seen at Le Mans in the 80s with fully enclosed bodies, multiple wheels each with independent cimputerised steering and suspension to find the most grip. Torque vectoring to each of the wheels, drivers in G suits and audiences wondering why they bothered to come.
I expect future F1 cars could more closely resemble this design, than the current 2022 cars, going by at their evolution over recent years. The panel design lines are more flowing, which seems to be the trend.

It looks like the wheels are extended wider, the body generates a stupid amount of downforce, and it generates more power. I can see it happening, but I think we're seeing more throttle on the cornering thanks to the body design.
The 2025 design actually makes sense. Bigger rims would actually make the entire wheel lighter, since those kind of tires are heavier than the rims' metal alloy. So with this possible solution probably the car will be faster and more grippy, at the cost of stability, but since the electronics will be much more cutting-edge in 2025, this will not be such a problem.
In no world the 2025 F1 car is going to be like that, we will most probably see more refined and aerodynamic version of the current 2022 car till 2030 atleast
That concept is awesome but at the same time its a death trap. There is no way to get out of the car if it ends up being upside down. In order to prevent certain death with that design they would have to implement fully ejectable cockpit in case of crash or put a huge roll bar on top.

Ah yes, he can open the top and... oh wait, how do you expect him to open the top while he's upside down? He wont be able to open it because there will be ground blocking his only way out unless the entire glass panel will shatter to pieces, but then there is another problem: rollbar, which height is on questionable level here.Simply It might not give you enough space to let you crawl out of the car which is extremely crucial if the car will burst into flames. Also i wasnt talking about ejectable seats as you mentioned but about entire cockpit to be ejectable.

@@rt2255 like in the past. We would never had a six wheeler or the Alfa Hoover with today’s lot. But then the F1 rule book was 2 A4. Measuremrnts, wheels not wider then something in the front and something in the back and the engine is max 3 liter or blown max 1,5 liter. And a page about the safety structure, which wasn’t that safe.
Some things to like, some not so much: The engine sound of course, the aggressive front end (though spare a thought for the pit crews having to replace that mammoth front wing) are both really exciting. Hate a fully enclosed cockpit, and after all of the saves provided by the halo the last few years it's not going anywhere. The rear end/wing looks like an oval-spec Indycar, and that's not a compliment.

@@bremCZ I don't see any progress since 2005 as I stop watching this F1 racing competition. There was only "progress" made in bureaucracy, rules and racing politics. There are only 2 ways: 1, Combustion Engine technology, 2, Electric engines. I prefer in F1 the first option with the proper engines, not with the small turbocharged mixers. Once proper engines are back, with no stupid politics and rules I will start watching again.

About time! It's a joke that F1 has been shoehorned into the BS green agenda. Even more hilarious is the fact that the F1 cars only contribute the tiniest percentage of the emissions created by the F1 travelling circus.
The concept car had a proper F1 engine by the sound of it. The type which made a noise which stirred the heart and let you know a wonderful piece of engineering was working at the limits!
@@einfachabsurd3757 When I said "wonderful piece of engineering", I meant the whole car, and what I meant overall was that the noise of those V10's in particular was awesome. The noise used to vibrate your insides as the car went past. The last race I saw with modern era engines was at Melbourne in 2016, and those engines were of course amazing engineering, but you could have a conversation with the guy next to you during the race. To me, a racing car is supposed to make a lot of combustion and mechanical noise. This is a personal opinion. I think it is a shame the modern cars do not evoke the emotions from the engine noise. I don't deny they are still great engineering.
I am not so sure about that. Sebastian Vettel drove the V10 Williams car of Nigel Mansell around on a circuit, and he was blown away. Now he is fighting to get the V10 back into F1, and he might succeed as the big argument against that was the fuel. And they are working on carbon neutral produced fuel.
@@deadbeef576 it's not just about "neutrally produced fuel", it's about the fact that any kind of combustion engine generally has no future! compared to electric motors, these motors have a far too low level of efficiency and a much lower level of reliability. the only reason why not everything has been converted to electric is the currently still existing problem of storing electricity to a sufficient extent. but this is exactly what is being worked on and researched at full speed around the world. so you can be sure that in the future we will only hear such a wonderful sound at "oldtimer races".

It would be interesting to know the g-forces created in such a car and whether a driver could cope - he’d certainly need a neck like a young Mike Tyson.
I train F3 drivers for a sponsored team here in Sonoma , California . We do lateral and linear neck and core exercises every session to withstand the turning, braking and acceleration forces. Even for the weekend warrior at track days, these can help.
Who wants to see a bunch of robots going around a track?? It's the human element that excites people about f1, potentially risking their life, drama with other drivers etc

I think F1 should be more of a true drivers league. And a throwback. Back to V10s and more of a traditional clutch and manual trans system. But that will never happen.

@nata zeze What aids do F1 drivers have? There is no traction control and no ABS. They can adjust things like brake balance and the differential on their fancy wheels, far more complex work load than an H-pattern shifter. These F1 guys could drive a "pure old school car" in their sleep.
That looks awesome except for the bubble canopy. That’s an obvious non-starter for safety reasons. Slap a halo on that bad boy and you’re off to the races 🏎
The bubble canopy is safer than the halo, the only reason they don't use it is because they fear the driver will become trapped if the car is over turned. The bubble canopy is also better aerodynamically speaking.
@@DarkLordDiablos Safety is the only reason the halo exists... They already tested the bubble way before the halo, they rejected it for safety reasons, including ventilation for the pilot.
It's just a simulation (you can fool someone who didn't even played a game in a SNES, but not me...) but looks amazing. At least the engine sound earns my attention back to the F1

@@bremCZ I don't see any progress since 2005 as I stop watching this F1 racing competition. There was only "progress" made in bureaucracy, rules and racing politics. There are only 2 ways: 1, Combustion Engine technology, 2, Electric engines. I prefer in F1 the first option with the proper engines, not with the small turbocharged mixers. Once proper engines are back, with no stupid politics and rules I will start watching again.

That 2025 version looks amazing! Reminds me of the BAC Mono though. The game footage is nice too, but the out-of-focus blur is a bit weird, especially if you look around the cars' edges.

The concept car had a proper F1 engine by the sound of it. The type which made a noise which stirred the heart and let you know a wonderful piece of engineering was working at the limits!
"wonderful piece of engineering" is relative.... The 1.6L V6 are wonderfull pieces of engineering...... at least from the technical side
@@einfachabsurd3757 When I said "wonderful piece of engineering", I meant the whole car, and what I meant overall was that the noise of those V10's in particular was awesome. The noise used to vibrate your insides as the car went past. The last race I saw with modern era engines was at Melbourne in 2016, and those engines were of course amazing engineering, but you could have a conversation with the guy next to you during the race. To me, a racing car is supposed to make a lot of combustion and mechanical noise. This is a personal opinion. I think it is a shame the modern cars do not evoke the emotions from the engine noise. I don't deny they are still great engineering.

Sebastian Vettel drove the V10 Williams car of Nigel Mansell around on a circuit, and he was blown away.
Now he is fighting to get the V10 back into F1, and he might succeed as the big argument against that was the fuel.
And they are working on carbon neutral produced fuel.
@@deadbeef576 it's not just about "neutrally produced fuel", it's about the fact that any kind of combustion engine generally has no future! compared to electric motors, these motors have a far too low level of efficiency and a much lower level of reliability. the only reason why not everything has been converted to electric is the currently still existing problem of storing electricity to a sufficient extent. but this is exactly what is being worked on and researched at full speed around the world. so you can be sure that in the future we will only hear such a wonderful sound at "oldtimer races".

It would be interesting to know the g-forces created in such a car and whether a driver could cope - he’d certainly need a neck like a young Mike Tyson.
I train F3 drivers for a sponsored team here in Sonoma , California . We do lateral and linear neck and core exercises every session to withstand the turning, braking and acceleration forces. Even for the weekend warrior at track days, these can help.

It's a shame to see this as F1 should be at the pinnacle of what's possible with today's engineering. The very existing of this concept car smashing the current F1 shows something is wrong. To many restrictions in today's format
I think F1 should be more of a true drivers league. And a throwback. Back to V10s and more of a traditional clutch and manual trans system. But that will never happen.

@nata zeze What aids do F1 drivers have? There is no traction control and no ABS. They can adjust things like brake balance and the differential on their fancy wheels, far more complex work load than an H-pattern shifter. These F1 guys could drive a "pure old school car" in their sleep.

That looks awesome except for the bubble canopy. That’s an obvious non-starter for safety reasons. Slap a halo on that bad boy and you’re off to the races 🏎
The bubble canopy is safer than the halo, the only reason they don't use it is because they fear the driver will become trapped if the car is over turned. The bubble canopy is also better aerodynamically speaking.

They already tested the bubble way before the halo, they rejected it for safety reasons, including ventilation for the pilot.
