Hunter: I knew Flapjack was keeping secrets, but this? Everything I knew really was a lie.

But meeting Evelyn and seeing the Demon realm showed me there was a better way to live. I carved Flapjack with Evelyn as a symbol of that dream. But Phillip would not let go of the beliefs of our old home and attacked. I held him off to give Flapjack enough time to take the woman I loved to safety.
Luz: Eda always said that her family have been carving Palisman for generations, that birds were the Clawthorne protectors.
Caleb: I gave my life to protect them both just as Flapjack did for you.
Hunter: We’ll It doesn’t matter. He’s gone now.
Caleb: No not completely. The palistrom wood he was made from joined with yours to heal your wounds and gave your powers. He’s essentially a part of you. Flapjack chose you not because you look like me, but because you honor the hope he represented.

Caleb: I’m putting faith in a young man to choose his own path and do what’s right. Phillip took away that choice away from you. Can’t you see? You’re nothing like him.
