Apparently the TH-cam video editor studio ruined the audio sync, hopefully it should be fixed up when it finished processing. Apologies, there isn't much I can do at the moment!

Everytime Retromation says he's gonna die I always check how much time is left on the video lmao. I can't live in SO MUCH SUSPENSE!!😂
the way to automate that fully was to block it off, make sure the plates fed into the autoplater, and then lock yourself *out* of the kitchen and wash the plates over the counter
And bring the order machine out as well!

It came THIS CLOSE to 100% complete automation. Still, an amazing run. I think there was a theoretical setup that allowed you to have the food automatically served, leave you only needing to do the dishes, and STILL not trap you in, but it would have required putting the tables further up and have the dishes flow down and right, not up and right. Which does sound like a pain to rework, but feasible.
@@Jonjon13Jonjon13 Although, there was a possibility of only needing to stand in a single spot with only needing access to the wash basin and the ordering terminal after doing that mustard + ketchup setup.
danger hob + combiner for hotdogs and burgers is the pinnacle of performance, it's incredible. Also if you rotate the cabinets and the desks to face each other you can walk between them, it's annoying to not see what you research, but for halving the price and duplicating it's fine

man when i saw that breakdown with the mustard and ketchup, I was like Noooooooo. U had me stressing too. Love the vid :)
If you could convey dishes from the sink to the auto plate, you could actually wash the dishes from outside across the counter. Then you could full automate without being trapped and would be able to deliver the condiments (not that it would have saved you). Awesome run though, very fun to watch. Keep it up, breakfast and stir-fries are both fun, would love to watch you play them.

At the point of automation, the prep stations and associated grabbers are no longer necessary. If parts of the kitchen were moved into the dining area, I think it could have possibly worked with Retromation only needing to manage start-of-day, the ordering terminal, and washing dishes.
The research desk/copier/discount desk function on the cabinet, not the blueprint. So it doesn't matter if there are 1 or two blueprints in them. If you copier first, then research... both the original recipe and the copied recipie get researched at once.
Respectfully, I challenge you to automate it to the point that you stand there and observe like an overlord.
Fantastic run, the only thing that would have potentially helped in the very end rounds after you got the ordering terminal would have oddly enough been to get rid of all but two of your coffee tables.
Reason being the walking time between the far tables and service table took too much time.
Your outdoor que will always refresh itself to full once you serve two table in succession.
Keeping the two coffee table right near the sitting ends of the serving table would have shortened the wasted time in long walking.
You did a fantastic job overall!! Keep up the entertaining content.
🤔 is it possible to have a combiner force a bun onto a hot dog as it finishes cooking? If so I could see gaining a few spaces in your kitchen by going from 2 safety hobs to a single danger hob and losing one prep station. Then maybe reorient to have dishes auto refill the auto plater, and then...
I dunno man, crazy to think about. Wild run that wound up being limited mostly by the fact that customers eat 🤣

I think it's still possible, but would require like an hour of swapping stuff around to get the to third table. Honestly just insane, mad props

I think this run shows just how minute aspects, or seemingly useless items, of the game can be so incredibly major for full automation. A lot of these days would have been so much easier with 'negative' things
Removing the thinking time before an order would be so massively impactful, as would reducing eating time, ordering remotely, etc. All things that seem fairly unimpactful or detrimental in a normal run, but when your biggest issue is that you have too many customers....

Just want to point out that your hotdog situation got backed up exactly to capacity as you finished.
Also, that was not a sentence I ever expected to write.
I would love to see this game get mod support in the future (or the possibility to mod it yourself, kinda like with peglin), so people can make their own challenge runs! With custom start items or rules!

I think you could have put the terminal and the sink in the dining room and looped clean dishes into the auto plater then and set up 3 double tables with ketchup and mustard automation

I would probably have hooked up clean dish to the auto plates and just hang out in front of the order terminal outside the kitchen where you can reach the sink to wash dishes and have those 2 things your only manual thing to do, but probably would have lost anyway cuz you could only sit 1 person per table, with 2 it would go twice as fast
At 1:37:51, there was actually a way to fully automate the process with what you had. Here would've been the steps to make this happen:
First off, top left corner of the restaurant is A1, bottom right corner is I13. Top of screen is North.
C6 (Smart Grabber) to B5 facing East
C7 (Wash Basin) to B6
B7 (Smart Grabber) stays, faces East
A7 (Plates) to B8
A8 (Ordering Terminal) to A7
F9 (Smart Grabber) to C8, facing South
F7 (Conveyor) to E9, Facing West
E9 (Sink) to E8
E8 (Auto plater) to D8, Facing South
F8 (Smart Grabber) to E7, Facing West
This setup would've allowed for full automation, and after starting a new day and setting up the mustard and ketchup, all you have to do is just stand all day in A6, as you only need to reach the ordering terminal, and the wash basin.

Could you place left-facing conveyors on the counter-ends of the tables, so you can put two hot dogs on each table without waiting? That seems to take up a bit of your time. And if that speeds things up you can put two hot dogs to cook at a time and phone in a bunch of people since the automation is complete - you'd just be serving and washing dishes. ( Typed around 27m mark, will update if needed )

The audio is messed up on this. You paused footage somewhere around 20 min and forgot to remove the audio segment from the pause. It’s not synced after the ~25 min mark
it is a TH-cam editor glitch, and should hopefully be fixed shortly

you could have made 4 tables with 1 customers each, circle them with normal conveyor, not smart grabbers. Use smart grabbers only for taking dirty dishes out and putting hotdogs into that rotation. Throw in ketchup and mustard into that rotation as well. Its hard to explain in the comments. haha. Good effort though

I just tried a hotdog today after the update and it's bad..... Solo play is just not possible i have soup and pumpkin seeds as early as round 6 just the trash issue makes me wanna give up... And i don't get good blueprints at all my goodness i had to abandon on day 10 because it's just not possible alone
