It was part of Nike's brief for the campaign to collaborate with a group of your closest friends and/or colleagues. So in fact, Sean was one of the few who actually followed the guidelines. Ultimately, I'm not sure if that's a valid point against him

Nah Sean’s a solid dude. For a guy who started a small business selling vintage + streetwear to now working with some of the biggest names in the game is a huge come up. No matter if his newer designs sell out or not, he’s still pushing the culture. Trying to discredit the work of other designers without you even bringing anything to the table is just makes your opinion lackluster.
No he's not a fraud and your video did not show he was. He designed it per the contest prompt, with his friends. Weird hater vibes with that title. Maybe you should have posed it as a question.

Not really, the London Nights Oketro did way better less hype better design and great resale for a shop collab, that shoe is another level under the lights

He has his own personal design vision and stays true to that. He works with a lot of archival 80s and 90s clothing and footwear pieces and bases a lot of his design work on that. With him also being vegan he tries to make a lot of his products out of sustainable products which a lot of these big box brands should be doing too. We throw Virgil's name around saying he is the goat of footwear design but how many flops has he had recently outside of the "10" pack.
Ok so you are definitely a Sean Witherspoon wood rider besides every designer is going to have a flop or two but Sean only had 1 major hit where as Virgil had many more hits than flops

I am not saying he is perfect in any form and have never bought any of his shoes and probably won't in the future either. That doesn't mean that someone else will go out and buy them as they like them. I am a massive Virgil Fan and have most of his design books but outside the "10" pack and the airforce 1s most of the other shoes that have come out have sat and are going for well under retail. Fraud is a big word he is still huge and I think given to opportunity’s anyone would take that Sean is still so talented and he will forever hold a huge place in the streetwear community regardless if you like him or not

This is a strangely aggressive video and I think saying Sean was known for dipping sneakers and cutting things up is such a wildly diminutive way to describe round 2 and everything he built
I like bright, loud colorful kicks but they have to be done right and certain shoes.

I think one of the reasons why the Sean wotherspoon's flop is the collabs on shoe models people rarely buy. Like those basic Adidas shoes that you'll pick up when you just need new shoes rather than something like Yeezy where it's hyped
Surprised you mentioned the team effort that went into the Air Max 97/1s. People never mention that. I actually enjoy the 80/90s colorful vibe. Even so I agree that a good amount of his designs ain't it. Still his original collab is a top 3 sneaker for me. And what got me into the sneaker game. So I'll forever appreciate him for that. Plus that Adidas Orketro was pretty dope. Hopefully, it's a sign of better things to come!

I dislike Sean Wotherspoon for a completely different reason and that's because he's a scammer. It was around 6-10 years ago can't remember the exact year since I was like 12 but he would consistently scam people in the biggest sb facebook group and got called out by the admin and banned for scamming and ripping people off. I could care less about his sneaker because I don't like it anyways and I really just like sb dunks but Sean Wotherspoon deserves all the hate he gets even if hes a great designer he isn't a good person at heart and just wants money.
He made a classic sneaker, whether we think he's a fraud or not but he did that, well scenuis. I like the fact that he doesnt necessary do what people are on but what he likes, gotta admire that.

Sean's design didnt really catch my eye because their confusing n direction, people might like his stuff which i wish i can say the same we all have to remember it's all about your connection hence some people capitalize on that but sooner or your body work will unravel your real talent and sale numbers will show u that.
