My favorite is spicy deluxe sandwich with Chick-fil-A sauce. 🤤
So fast food here is not tipped. Chickfila just has a very strict hiring and training process and the employees are top notch.
A lot of fast food places accept tips. Hell, a lot of just fast drink places accept tips lol. However, CFA employees will graciously refuse to take any tips.
@@citisoccer Which ones? I have never seen a fast food place take tips.
@@cshubsthey have little tip clear jars or boxes with the word “tips” on them by cash registers but ur not required to put anything in them lol, it’s just there if ur feeling generous.
@@citisoccer Maybe where you're from. Never seen anyone tip at a fast food place.
@@Lovely_.Heav1 What state?
Fast food places don't get tips if you see a jar it's usually for a foundation to donate
If you’re planning a trip to the US in November, make sure to go to a college football game!
I always love how impressed they are with basic everyday food places we literally don't think twice about in the US 🤣🤣🤣
And Europeans think we are stupid while they marvel over sh*t food.
Chick-fil-A gets thought about for many reasons. Many people consider it the best (as well as possibly healthiest) fast food place and really like the food. Other people wouldn't go there on a bet because of their history of public opposition to same sex marriage. Either way, it gets thought about.
@Justin Freitag 💀
Uhhm, well that's because we're use to it. Like Americans being excited about quaint English villages.
@@BTinSF When you press people about their politics don't be surprised if you disagree. I go for the food.
I've never known a fast food worker to get tips. I think the clear boxes you may have seen Dana were donation boxes for things like Jerry's kid ( muscular dystropy), Ronald McDonald's House, etc.
Was just coming to say this. Fast food workers don’t get tips. At McDonald’s there usually for the Ronald McDonald house other places it’s Jerry’s or another charity like that. To tip a waiter here it has to be a sit down restaurant where they bring u the food.
Right, only maybe mom and pop businesses but not chain fast food. Company doesn't allow tipping for fast food workers.
Chick Fil A is from here in Georgia ( Atlanta ) started by a devout Christian man & thats why Chick Fit A is always closed on Sundays & the restaurant is primarily considered avsouthern restaurant but is franchised out some up north but its primarily here in the south...
looks like the Chick Fit A here in Savannah Georgia on Victory Drive..
I hope y’all have a wonderful time when y’all come to America. Can’t wait
Yes, Chick-fil-A has restaurants all across the country, in 47 states.
For first timers, they are closed on Sunday.
Chic fil a is a Christian based restaurant closed on Sundays. There’s always a line
Chic-Fila started in Atlanta, GA, and spread mostly through the south. I believe within the last few years they opened more stores in the Northeast as well.
Fayetteville, Georgia
Chic fil a is known country wide for their stellar customer service.
Chick-fil-a is all over the USA. in my area we used to have 2 but now we just have one
Never had it here in my area. They just buil one 12 miles away recently but never tried it. Idk if it's worth a 20 minute trip
The autumn spice shake tastes like cinnamon and Biscoff cookies. It was pretty good.
No tipping in popular fast food chains. The companies don't allow it. It supposed to be affordable fast food for the average family. Tipping kinda defeats that purpose. Mom & pop fast food joints may have tip jars tho but not chains.
Josh and Ollie met the first day of Uni, and then Josh did a year studying abroad in Korea, and now they do a lot of videos about introducing people to korean culture, often via food. On the Jolly channel, it's usually their vacations and other vlog-style content.
'MOM's Touch' is indeed a fast food chain in Korea
Chick-fil-A is a play on Chicken Filet/Fillet and American's say it like Fil-a. Also Chick-fil-A is more healthy than other fast food places. It's not as greasy because they use Peanut Oil instead of Canola or Vegetable oil.
2,928 Locations in the US
Texas has had chic fil a since at least the 70's. They started out in mall food courts. I've never eaten at one because I don't eat chicken or fast food. But I have a sister who has been crazy about it since we were teens
I love when Gaynor tells Aiden a story about him when he was younger. Perfect
Every story about Aiden is from when he was younger.
and he never remembers
I thought they were just employees in the same office.
Starbucks in the States is now offering butter to put in your coffee instead of cream, which butter is technically. The box G is remembering on the counter is a charity box (mcdonald house, etc)
You are right, Sophie is going to be a gas. Her reaction to things is so funny, I love it.
The clear box with change and dollars at a fast food chain is likely a charity donnation box, but would be a tip jar at a coffee or doughnut shop.
yes, we sometimes dip fries in shakes. But it's controversial in the us, some people like it and some people hate it.
The BEST secret drink at Chick-fil-a: half sweet tea, half fruit punch, splash of lemonade.
You guys really need to visit Savannah, you will love it and don't forget to visit the sweet potatoes restaurant.
People do not tip at fast food places in the US. The plastic boxes the mom is talking about are donation boxes. A lot of fast food places take donations for various causes.
7:57 its all spice that goes into a pumpkin pie. Also no tips at fast food places. The clear plastic container Gaynor is talking about are usually for charities not the employees.
The glass boxes are usually for charities.
Our Chick-fila-A is always packed.
The drive thru always has a long line and it is a double drive thru.
The only time it isn't busy is on Sunday. Because they close it for religious reasons.
So much fun seeing this guys. We think nothing much about the fast food places here in the U.S. It's fast food and quick. But, don't worry Aiden about your visit with us. You can drink easily as long as it's discreetly and, you don't actually buy it yourself. Please do stay close to Sophie .Lol. She will be shocked more than once I'm sure. I hope that you all have a great trip and can't wait to see videos of the trip.
I don't know if it's just their personality on camera but their on camera interaction doesn't come across as mother and son, never would have guessed.
Hi there. I'm from Florida. So typically you don't tip at fast food restaurant in the U.S. Tipping is mostly expected at restaurants that personally serve your food to your table and clear away the dishes. Since at most fast food restaurant you serve yourself and clear your table after you eat as well it is not expected.
I subscribe to the Jolly channel but I must say, it's more fun watching your reaction to them. Great fun!
Theres probably at least 4 orfive chick fila in Savannah GA
Yep we've got a few
There is no tipping for ANY fast food restaurant or staff. The boxes that you might see near the cash register with change and dollar bill's in it are for charity donations. There are strict rules regarding fast food places not being allowed to accept tips. Even if a tip is offered the staff in most cases will and should say "We are not able/allowed to accept tips."
so i used to work at chick fil a and no kidding, we have someone that comes in in the morning when we are doing opening stuff, to squeeze lemon juice, there is a juicer and we make fresh lemon juice everyday which is why its so good(also LOADS of sugar)
Yeah Don't let the looks fools you. The taste is goooood!
I really recommend watching Jolly's In-N-Out video. As someone who ate there frequently pre-pandemic: it is a nice menu but their secret menu is a beautiful spectacle.
And sadly Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays.
At fast food places, those clear boxes you mentioned aren't for tips normally, but usually for some charity or other. I would especially expect it to be for a charity at Chick-Fil-A.
People at fast food restaurants don't get tips. The plastic container G is talking about is for donations to different causes. Usually a children's hospital or animal sanctuary type things.
Usually the clear square plastic boxes are for local charities.
Chick-fil-A does not use iceberg lettuce. They use the beautiful green curly leaf lettuce.
Chic-fil-A is building in northern Oregon, and that’s pretty much the last region to get the Resturant, I think. And there aren’t many here, but a few are going in as we speak. Good stuff too!
Jolly Texas BBQ!
The square box at fast food places is normally for some kind charity. We don't really tip for fast food.
Aww I’ll look after Sophie. I was always the one who looked after my friends when we went out. ❤
The square clear box is usually a charity. Tipping isn’t common for fast food
You guys should come up to Washington state
Gaynor telling a story about Aidan, Aidan not remembering - name a more iconic duo lol
I worked at a Chick Fil A Dwarf House, and everything was literally cooked from scratch. We filleted the chicken breasts, cuts the chicken into nugget sizes, and strips, we peeled and used a waffle slicer for the potatoes, made the biscuits from scratch, made the salads, chicken pot pies, carrot and raisin salad, coleslaw, the tea, cut lemons and squeezed the juice for lemonade, pretty much everything was made absolutely from scratch minus the brownies, the ice cream came in packets ( not solid-pre mixture of ingredients )that we put into a machine that makes them just like homemade ice cream, … that was in the 90’s. I’m not sure if it’s still this way because of the demand but that was definitely the healthiest fast food you could get! At least in GA lol!
Never got tips on the self-serve side, only on the server side. I’m not sure that those exist anymore?? 3/4 years ago, our Dwarf House changed to the standard Chick Fil A, still very popular but there’s not a sit down service side anymore:(
Awwww, yea baby! The four of you coming to the US in November!!! I can't wait to see those videos...and Sophie, yea...her responses should be epic! Love you guys!!!
That "clear, square jar" at fast food places are for charity, not tips.
OMG buttered toast in coffee is amazing. I haven't done that in 35 years. 😂
He asked nuggets or strips? And the cashier suggested nuggets?! You gotta be kidding me lol
No, the workers in fast food get paid hourly,if you want to tip you can. Most places pay up to $20 an hour.
The clear box with money in it isn’t a tip jar but is actually a donation jar to charity.
Fast food restaurants never take tips in the US.
It might be a regional thing, but I’ve seen tip jars at fast food places. They’re getting in on it like coffee shops. Might not be common, but not uncommon either.
Starbucks takes tips in a clear box/jar. Just depends on the place.
We have it here in Chicago. They was in competition with popeyes chicken sandwich a few years back.
They are in Savannah, Georgia.
Chick-fil-A has actually been in Texas since 1970. I'm not sure when we got our first Chick -fil-A where I live, but I don't remember not having one. I was just a kid, now my grandkids love it!
For a long time I only knew of one Chick-fil-A in southern California. That was during the 80s or 90s. Fast forward to 2010 and I was shocked to find when I had moved to A different part of Los Angeles county they had a Chick-fil-A. Now Chick-fil-A is popping up all over the area. They went from almost none for a very long time to a lot of them in the past few years.
When I first had them in the 80s or 90s, I loved their chicken sandwich. When I had them in the 2000s, I didn’t like it so much at all. I’ve tried it several times and I still did not like it. Finally I decided to try the grilled chicken and I like it much better.
I'm so glad the chicago cubs are sponsored by Chick-fil-A bc when they win a game everyone gets a free chicken sandwich 😂😂
For burgersI like lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, bacon, ketchup, mustard and mayo.
My only stipulation is the mayo cannot touch the ketchup/mustard so they go on opposite sides of the meat patty.
For chicken sandwiches I like lettuce, tomato and mayo. Sometimes mustard and onion are good as well. I typically get the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendys.
They said that about Sunday because chic fil a is closed every Sunday nationwide. And yes they are coast to Coast and chic fil a have to say "my pleasure" and aren't allowed to accept tips. Rare you see tips at fast food places
Chick-fil-A is all over the United States but insert locations and IN-N-OUT in the West Coast and in some mid West States
In-and‐Out is on)y mainly in California and possibly one or two Western states, Chick-fil-A is pretty much all over
Should've tried the Honey Roasted BBQ sauce. The fries are good but better eat them fast or they get stale. They're known for their consistent quality and promptness. Also, if you done in they'll do refills. Even so I prefer Cane's for juicier chicken.
Yes to the Honey Roasted BBQ sauce. It’s very similar to the Chick-fil-A sauce, but better.
Your thinking of in and out it started in California and is mainly an west coast/western franchise. California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah have some restaurants. And Texas has some locations
I'm from Texas, and they are here everywhere now.
You don't tip at ChickfilA.
Eww no! The milkshake has to be either chicolate or vanilla for me to dip fries! Lol I dip buttered toast in my tea oh so good..😋 You both look really nice in white btw 😊❤
If Aidan and Declan are going to visit the US, just remind them that they must bring their US passport because it is illegal for an American to enter and leave the US using a foreign passport. I'm letting them know because I know a lot of people who have two national passports who got into trouble trying enter the US with their non-US passport.
@@torstenheling3830 If they HAVE US passports (maybe they don't), why not use them? It might make things a little easier.
@@torstenheling3830 You are wrong on every count. First off, the US has been issuing social security numbers at birth for years. My nephew is the same age as Aidan (according to his birthday video a few days ago) and my nephew got his social security number (SS#) at the same time his birth certificate arrived at my brother's home. And if Aidan doesn't have a SS Number yet, his place of birth is still listed in his British Passport. The agent is not going to miss that info. In fact, I wouldn't be surprise if his British driver's license also lists his birth location either. I knew an American-born woman who grew up in England and who hated that her British driver's license listed her birthplace in America. She said hated seeing that info on her license because she did not feel American at all. She moved to London at 2 years-old.
Secondly, the first 3 numbers of all SS numbers show where the person lived when he or she first got his or her social security number. And since these numbers are now given to all babies at birth, the first 3 numbers indicate where (which state) the child was born. You can look up this info online.
Thirdly, I would hate to inform you that the US already has a travel record for both kids. They had to leave the US in order get to England. The US records all that info in a federal database and customs. Besides, I am sure they already have had a US passport at least once before.
Finally, I need to inform you that US immigration knows about this channel and every other channel on TH-cam. You see, the Department of Homeland Security monitors the internet. Don't believe me? Another European TH-camr named Eva from Poland (She grew up in England as well) got pulled aside by US immigration at the US border with Mexico when she was filming her drive to Alaska from Mexico City. She was detained for several hours a few months ago because her complete travel history and Polish passport showed that she had spent years traveling around the Middle East. She said in her TH-cam video that the US border patrol knew everything about her within seconds.
The reason for my original post was to remind the brothers to bring their US passports with them to the US. My info is sound and correct because it is a serious crime for an American to try to enter the US on a foreign passport. Don't believe me? Look it up!
The only speaking nonsense hear is you. You really need to get informed before trying to callout someone else's comment.
@@torstenheling3830 Actually Aiden has talked about moving to the US in the future (in a previous video). So I highly doubt he would renounce his US citizenship if that's the case. Even his parents have said they may move back to the US at some point. So keeping his US citizenship may be beneficial to him.
@@torstenheling3830 No. You are still wrong, but your arrogance is blinding you from the reality of the situation. Like I said, go look it up. Entering the US on a foreign passport as an American citizen is a crime. And so is lying about said citizenship on immigration and customs forms.
@@torstenheling3830 okay well now you're going too far haha yes it is a privilege to be a US citizen compared to most of the world that is why the United States gets more immigrants every year than any other country in the world people literally risked their lives trying to get here even as far as paying $100,000 dollars (to be paid while working here) be brought in from China my guy... yes there are certainly other great countries in the world and United States is truly one of them and I hate assuming things but I'm just going to assume anyway that you're probably a Pinko commie if you don't like it here you can just get out😂😆😂
You don't generally tip at chain fast food places in America, especially if you get your food at the counter.
No fast food places don't get tips, its actually against the company policies. The boxes they have are generally for some charity or other
I eat fast food very rarely but Chickfila can't be beat for service. The closest one is an hour away from me but man do they do a business and their drive-thru lines of like 20 cars are served in 5 minutes or less. McDonalds, Burger King, and Whataburger are mediocre and it takes 20+ minutes sometimes for the drive thru when there's barely anyone there. Chickfila has got their service down pat and they seem to hire people that take it seriously 👍🏻
In n Out have just come to Colorado and the drive through lane is backed up all day and all night
I love that you’re coming here! Im in southeast Florida if you want to do a quick fan meeting. 😊 It would be great to see a vlog of Sophie traversing the airport and customs etc….I enjoy watching the wonder people have with news adventures.
I am not sure for 100% of the Chick-fil-A stores. However, those clear Plexy glass
rectangle containers at the registers are for charity. Not for tips. I worked fast food
and never once got a tip. That I can recall.
Josh and Ollie are just best friends. I believe they met at university.Josh and Ollie are both married with wives and Ollie has a young daughter I think age 6.
I dont believe it. No 2 straight dudes constantly share the same fork, or bite out of the exact same place in a sandwich that the other guy just took a bite from...... You take a bite from a different place man. Wouldnt you?
Managers at Chick -fil -a do check on you if you eat in they will ask if everything is good. I live in Arizona we have had Chick-Fil-A for many years.
Fast food doesn't get tips. And Southerner are usually nice respectful people. 😊
chick fil a is all over now and in n out are expanding to the east coast as well
OMG buttered toast in hot chocolate is the best!!! maybe a pa dutch thing but yummy
There's really no such thing as a server at a fast food restaurant in America. Except for things like Frisch's Big Boy for instance. Which is really a restaurant that just happens to have a drive thru. They did that because they were on camera ordering a bunch of food. Or They just had someone bring it to them instead of wait because their order was going to take soo long to cook. So they weren't standing there the whole time while it's busy. Or just call out your last name to come get it from the register. Usually the latter. I haven't been to a Chic Fila but I doubt it's normal to have someone bring your food to the table unless it's a large order or it's going to take a while to cook it all. They do the same thing elsewhere like McDonald's or another fast food restaurant if the order is going to take time. But that's not really a server. They're just delivering it. A servers job is different. But the boxes that are by the register's are not for tips. There's no way to do that specifically for a specific person if they were a server. They'd have to split it equally or something if it was for tips. The boxes are for donations for whatever charity that particular restaurant or food chain is supporting. For instance at McDonald's the extra change or bills people would put in the box would go to the Ronald McDonald house charities. Or to a specific charity that that particular fast food building donates to. Which could be different than others in the company. Or the charity that it's donated to could change throughout the year. There are/were privately owned businesses in places where they used to have jars for tips. Usually a deli or an Asian take out restaurant that would be there if you wanted to tip. But I haven't seen anything like that in decades here in the United States. At least here in Ohio. So some very rare privately owned businesses might still. But I haven't seen any in a very long time. Maybe in New York City or places like that maybe. Any tips here in America are usually added to the bill and they have you add it to the bill if you want to when you pay for the food if want to. Personally and most people I know won't add a tip if it's take out though because you're the one driving or coming to get it. So there's no server or delivery person. I'm honestly not even sure if it goes to the servers that never served you or to the kitchen staff and cooks. I think it's the latter. Either way the box at fast food restaurants. Especially the corporately owned one's. Are donation boxes for charities.
That clear box is a charity box
I had a girlfriend that would put a little bit of butter in her coffee. And I’ve got to admit it wasn’t bad
Theres 8 Chick fila in or near Savannah GA
Thats my hometown Savannah, Georgia. I wonder which Chic fil A this is. We have about 4 or 5 in the area
Aiden, a lot of states allow 18 and over to drink in the bar with their parents. I don't know where you're going so you'll have to check and see if the state you're in allows it
It's not alot of states, some private establishments do allow it but today there are not many.
@@EMD1028 there are 19 states with or without exceptions. Look it up
@@Jimmyrichard270 oh I actually thought it was 21. Even in those 19 states alot of private establishments won't do it. What it means is the parents in their own private homes can serve liquor to their kid who is over 18.
@@EMD1028 I just knew that because my state allows 18 year olds to drink in bars when accompanied by a parent✌️
@@Jimmyrichard270 oh I'm not disagreeing, I was just stating that just because it's allowed in a state many establishments don't allow it. It's up to their discretion.
Chick-fil-A is all over the U.S. I believe it started in Georgia.
Hi-C is like Hawaiian Punch, about a step above Kool-Aid
11:45. All Chick fil A employees Nationwide are selected and trained for their friendly demeanor. They are also closed on Sundays Nationwide. The Corporation would rather sacrifice Sunday profits to respect the Sabbath, and they are blessed with outstanding profits for even being closed on Sunday.
They are all over the country now
No they are not, 47 of the 50 US states have chik fila places.
Most people do NOT tip at fast food places. But they often do have a jar at the cash register and some people do put their change in it or maybe $1. Now, however, more places are getting the kind of digital terminals that "suggest" a tip for you and intimidate you into giving one unless you want to be labeled as the kind of cheapskate who would choose the "0" choice. Frankly, I am that kind of cheapskate, especially now that I live in a state that mandates a $15/hr minimum wage for fast food workers which isn't bad for a basically unskilled starting job taken by mostly teens and retired people.
No tips at fast food places in the states
Fast food workers like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc in my area (Massachusetts) definitely do not receive tips. They are paid hourly at least minimum wage sometimes more.
I think the box with money that she thought were tips was a donation box. In my area they are usually for Rileys Children's Hospital.
@@patrickseidel8625 which we all look at and wonder if it actually goes to the charity or not
Chic filet is everywhere every state
Tips do not happen at a fast food place. That clear box, is for whatever fund raiser the restaurant is participating in at the time. They used to have those on the drive thru windows as well so either the driver or the cashier when instructed can drop their change from the purchase in.
There is one thing you have wrong about the drinking age, it's different in different states. Some states it is 18 still.
I would say sure I would keep Sophie company but I don't know if I would want to deal with a nervous wreck 🤣
All states legal drinking age is 21. Any state can lower it, but they will lose federal funding
If you are going to do a tour of the US you better schedule several months. When I was young we went to the Grand Canyon and just driving across Texas took 3 days!!
No sophie? 🙁 Aww lol anyways chick fil a is amazzinngggg 🙏 its the Mercedes Benz of fast food in regards to taste and customer service 🙏
Comparing a Benz to fast food is like calling a Big Mac the Lamborghini of burgers.
No
@@heywoodjablowme8120 You totally missed the point lol. Chick Fil A is the Benz of fast food compared to other fast food. The Big Mac is like a Toyota Corolla. Dependable but nothing special and slightly embarrassing
No Sophie was actually refreshing, I can do with the funny looking here and there. Other tines it is funny to look at.
I think the, “I could eat here 7 days a week”, was a sly comment about Chick-fil-A being closed on Sundays.
