Just as Walt is starting to seriously miss his wife and enter sad times is when Sue comes over and invites him to their party. After he let Sue and Thao and their family into his life, he became happier.

The ONLY reason it didn't was due to the racial remarks, etc.... They completely ignored that Clint's character gave his life for them in the end. He was prejudiced, he realized he was wrong, he corrected it, in the end he went to battle for them. What a movie.
Despite his elderly age he's still got it. Walt's Kowalski is still the badass soldier he was back during the Korean war. Ain't going to lie but I kind of wanted to see a flashback of his time in Korea. But then again that's how Hollywood is selfish pricks that wants to try and never remember Korea. At least South Korea remembers our soldiers sacrifice. Not to mention the Chinese still talk about the Korean war and the first time they engaged UN forces.
