I was a college student in 1974, 1975 in England. I was just in love with this car, and then came Lotus Esprit. Well, I ended up buying a 1972 Mini. And then came the origianl VW Scirocco TS. Now that was a fun car.
It looks like a new restoration too. All the suspension parts a so clean. They are so well balanced cars, which only is a problem if you spin one in snow. Great video .
I remember seeing a few of these around when I was a kid growing up in France and although it took me many years to build my own classic car collection ( I own 7 vehicles so far ) I've always had a soft spot for the Europa ❤️❤️ Maybe I should find one...
Why do the side windows curve up at the top? ..is there a reason or is it a styling gimmick? ..or are the windows following the curvature of the windshield? Thanks for the video by the way.. I never get tired of this car's design for some reason.
They are supposed to follow the windscreen...they do look odd sometimes. I fancy getting one myself. Its a smaller version of the original gt40 project lotus was trying on ford but lola won it...try to find a picture of Ron Hickmans original design and you see a v8 car and the side windows make more sense.
Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN AND TEBBVEN laws)
What a load of rubbish! From 2035 it may be that all new cars will have to be something else than fossil fuelled. Ethanol petrol will still continue as will normal fuel. I remember that same noise made by people like you when we moved away from unleaded. Yet we are with harden valves and cars still running!
Special is one of top 5 Lotus cars ever produced.. Superb drivers car and absolutely stunning.

Other then a Lamborghini Miura SV, the only car with a top I would ever consider driving.

A fellow Laverda owner i knew many years ago had one - a tiny car! I'd have to straighten that steering wheel!

It seems to accelerate pretty good. Whats been done to the engine.
