    Baby cuddler volunteer sounds so soothing for both the baby and the volunteer

    I think I want to go into NICU nursing as well!! When in nursing school do you have to learn about and take tests relating to adult diseases or can you just focus on infants? I don’t think adult patient care is for me but neonatal sounds like the dream!

      Nursing school is very broad and general and you learn all sorts from adults to infants. You cannot choose what you want to focus on. Luckily at my school, the last semester for our senior preceptorship we can choose a unit we want to focus on and do our rotations there. Hopefully you get to do nicu one day! 😊

    I just graduated high school and have chosen to try to become a NICU nurse because my little sister was born with Down syndrome and spent 36 days in the NICU. I really hope all goes well.

    11 years nursing not one desire to do NICU or kids. I did trauma Neuro pcu most career last 2 years have gone into SICU. The only thing I'm jealous of is that your patients don't weigh a lot so they are way easier to bathe and easier on the back 🤣.

    Hello Tiffany! I'm a recent college graduate. I went straight to a University undeclared, but soon after realized that I wanted to go into nursing. The closest thing my college had to "nursing" was human development, which I did indeed major in as well as psychology. My dream job is to my NICU nurse and I have done my own research, but I have no specific idea of how to get there. If you can give some advice of where to start like start off applying to a CNA program, etc, I would gladly appreciate it! Thank you!

    I want to become a NICU nurse, this is my last semester and because if covid, our school is not doing senior preceptorship, and NICU is closed for students and volunteering. :(

    Once you have your 2 years of experience in level 3 nicu to be able to travel, do you have to stay in level 3 to travel or find jobs or do they just want you to have the experience? I hope that makes sense

    Hello thank you for the video! I am currently a sophomore and I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life so I am currently undecided. I started researching and NICU RN really stood out to me. I am aware that I am a bit late to this game. So I was wondering if I can still become a NICU RN by going to an accelerated BSN program?

    Can you go over the departments within pediatric care? Would PICU be the next bump up from NICU? You mentioned they transfer 6-8 month old babies to other units. I’m interested in NICU plus populations under 7. Thanks!

    • @TiffanyRNnicunursetiff
      @TiffanyRNnicunursetiff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes picu is considered the sister unit to nicu which takes patients from 1 month to 18+ years old

      Typically it’s high school -> nursing school where you can graduate with your BSN -> take NCLEX to become a registered nurse (RN)
