A Day in the Life of an Infantry Corporal

  • Cpl. Charles Kristel is blunt and authoritative but also respected. Kristel, a Schenectady, N.Y., native was wounded during his previous deployment to Afghanistan. A stocky, deep-voiced man of few words, many unrepeatable in print, Kristel joined the military at the age of 20. After only three and a half years in the Marine Corps, he's elevated himself to a position of leadership through strength of will, demonstrated competence and unbending character.

      Yeah, crossing that NCO threshold was pretty cool. The officers may make it 'rock', but the Marine Corps NCO's make it 'roll'! The backbone and sinew of the Corps!

    People like these are the reason I get extremely offended when some foreigner has the balls to bash the US and even worse when an American bashes America and calls the country names. I'd pay money to see one of these people say that to the face of a military person.

    • @AussieRoberts
      @AussieRoberts 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Subscribe Most likely a Squad Leader, SL get Side Arms, maybe even Fire Team Leader

    • @rjulmer1
      @rjulmer1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Aussie Roberts aren't all marines issued a sidearm?

    • @BushidoDevilDog
      @BushidoDevilDog 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. The weapon you are issued depends on the Table of Organization billet you are fulfilling.

    Do many enlisted Infantry Marines serve 20 years?

    • @marines
      @marines  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The amount of time you serve will depend on how many times you re-enlist, if any. It is not MOS specific.

    • @jamessakimae9655
      @jamessakimae9655 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Marines do you have the option of possibly getting a new mos if you re-enlist?

    • @J.Roberts33-02

      In my experience the majority of us Infantry Marines do our 1 enlistment and then think the grass is greener on the outside, so I would say 1 and done overall.

    Not matter what, I’m going to be in the Corp. But I just can’t decide whether or not to enlist after college or to shoot for an officer commission. While the pay is high for an officer, and allows for more growth, enlisting as a corporal gives me access to opportunities such as scout sniper school, I just can’t decide. (And I know I may be getting a little ahead of myself.)

    Take 5 dogs! Fall out, set security, punch your bores and change you socks. Pop blisters and use moleskin. Hydrate and salt pills, don't drink too much and cramp up. It's fun being a 'mom'!

      My son left a Cpl. He had a tendency to do Marine things while off duty. Even with the assistance of the Navy brig and MPs, it took him a while to stop being so much like his Dad and Grandfather (who, as Pvt. 1st in the Army, still directed the telephone rewiring of Berlin during the occupation. My Dad had the distinction of making Cpl several times.)
