Led Zeppelin are the goats of rock music. They are so unique in how they aproached their music ,going off in different tangents and bringing it al together again.

I spent my teens listening to funk, anything between EWAF and Funkadelic/Parliament/Bootsy, which I still love and listen to til this day. I refused to listen to Zeppelin, thinking they would be a one-dimensional head-banging band. I was 26 when I first listened. I realised there and then that this was the music my being had always yearned for. Yes, the music is truly life changing. Love the channel. ❤

Wow, Lex gets it, yes Led Zeppelin is a live experience, not even video is the same , that is one reason there is so little footage of the band, they said you want to see us it is live, plus good marketing, you can't catch live on the TV.

Live for me would be MSG 1973 or Royal Albert Hall 1970 or Earl's Court in the mid 70s, any of those shows is mind blowing as are many of the sound board recordings that leaked out over time, we would have killed for those bootlegs back in the day. 3+ hours was a common set for them and often in fro t of packed stadiums. Simply the best.

Lex, there is a lot of well produced bootlegs of all the years of Zeppelin on You Tube re-mastered by some serious fans. Mind you, some of these boots have been around since the day bc of how popular LZ was live. And they did a lot of dates, primarily in the US. Great concert venues. A personal favorite is from the Fillmore West in SF in April 1969. The best and most exotic 'How Many More Times' I've ever heard. The show also exhibits a nice cover they had stopped doing early and a different song intro/outro for Bonham's drum solo. Thank you again!

I saw Led Zeppelin live at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, September of 1971. I was 14 years old. Of course, they were rocking hard and they also introduced some new tunes from what was to be Led Zeppelin 4 that came out later that year. That show was unforgettable.

Lex nails it as usual, Lol!! Led Zeppelin were fueled by such explosive energy..The footage from Madison Square Gardens 1973, captures the incredible spontaneous connection they had in a live setting.
I think Robert described the Zep experience, comparing it to a wild horse. The horse was just running madly out of control and they felt like they were just desperately hanging on, trying not to fall off!, Lol...
Consider that they had only been together for a few months before recording this. They were just taking the Delta Blues of Willie Dixon and Big Joe Turner and cranking it up to 11 and jamming on it....
Side note: I think you two are the coolest, most lovable couple I have ever seen!! I love Brad's critical mind and Lex's uncanny insights, it is a perfect balance, even when you disagree!!♡♡

When I first heard this song in '69 I rushed to the W.T. Grants department store to buy the album. I was blown away. I was 16 years old, and heard the band was coming to town so I bought my ticket. It was the very first Led Zeppellin concert in Florida, and they played at an amusement park called Prates World in Fort Lauderdale. All of the dark guitar areas in this song was done by Jimmy Page using a violin bow. W.t. Grants, and Pirates World are long gone, but that concert is still in my memory, and I'm now 70 years old. ROCK ON.

You talked about “organized chaos”, well I thought of a roller coaster... it takes you up, down, left, right, upside down and right side up, but you know you’re safe, and in the end it brings it all together and takes you back home. • @mr.knowitall6440

Actually Lex, the thing about Zeppelin is that their live performances were very different from their studio versions.
Jimmy Page used the studio to its fullest extent, creating awesome multi-track masterpieces, often with a good deal of subtlety.
It's impossible to re-create that live with four guys.
So instead, they didn't try to re-create the studio versions, they created arrangements for live, and pretty much just rocked the bloody hell out of it!
So, after you've heard the studio versions, you can then listen to the really good live recordings, and have a whole new experience... which is cool. 😎🎱
