They just walked into my parents house at 3am for a false call or something that had nothing to do with them. Scared my stepfather poopless , then instead of apologizing they gave him a lecture for not locking our door.. yet if it was locked they said they would have kicked it in.. he told them they were the only intruders in 40yrs

I have turned " knowing my rights" from a hobby to a passion. I have read and watched everything I can find about Canadian law to the point that, I will never be tricked or coerced by law enforcement to unknowingly give up my rights. . . . BUT this is what amazes me, I'm 65 years old and if I mention one of my rights to friends and guest when in a social circle, I simply can't believe how many fellow Canadians do not know their basic civil rights.
No wonder Canadian cops abuse their authority on a daily basis, 95 % of Canadians do not know their rights are being abused, it's a free for all for Cops in Canada.
Even basic rules of the road are not known to my family and friends until I prove it to them...for instance, ONLY in Ontario and Nova Scotia does a driver HAVE to abide by signage and pavement markings in ANY parking lot. You have to treat lane ways, thoroughfares with the same respect as a highway when in a parking lot, drive over painted parking spots to get to the exit quicker and hit someone while on the way, YOUR fault instantly, because you were not in your proper lane.
I myself was not aware that in Canada, when I PARK my car, I'm obligated by law to engage my emergency brake every time, AND if on an incline, I am obligated to cut my wheels a proper way of that's another ticket ... incline UP with curb..to the left, incline UP with NO curb, to the right. Incline down with curb...to the right, incline down with NO curb, to the right. Do NOT take your seatbelt off until your car is in PARK, do NOT put your seatbelt on as you are leaving a parking lot, all of these is against the law...
I even read EVERYTHING on Canadian Civil Forfeiture Laws in Canada, that is where the cops can stop you when driving, and while doing a " legal" search of your car, find cash, and then TAKE IT, by saying you " MIGHT" be on your way to buy drugs, no other proof, except they said they smelled dope. Your money is gone, LEGALLY. You can hire a lawyer to get it back, but unless that bag of money they took is $100,000 dollars, it will cost you more in lawyer fees than what was in the bag...AND it takes YEARS to get that money back. . . AND, once the Provincial cops realize that you have hired a lawyer, and you're fighting to get your money back, they THEN give it to the Federal Government, minus their small cut, and NOW you have to fight on a FEDERAL LEVEL to get your money back ...years and years before you get it back.
I know, I know ...you are saying " why would anybody carry a lot of cash on them" ...well, this one man was travelling from Nova Scotia to New Brunswick to purchase a rare Corvette car from an OLD GUY, who insisted that he be paid in cash for the car, or no sale, so the man had $40,000 dollars in his car, safely stowed in luggage in his trunk ...cops stopped him, ran his name where it revealed he had a record of possession of drugs TWENTY years ago, said that was enough suspicion to take the money because ...the man was on his way to New Brunswick to purchase drugs .. Money Gone.
ONLY 3 provinces in Canada do NOT have Civil Forfeiture Laws, Newfoundland, North West Territories and Prince Edward Island.
That law was invented to take criminals fortunes and disperse it to honest victims of crime, but in British Columbia ALONE, since it was invented around 2006 ...1.5 million dollars has been given back to citizens ...BUT in 2017 ALONE...JUST THAT ONE YEAR... British Columbia pulled in ....22 MILLION DOLLARS under civil forfeiture laws. It's so bad, how many Police Departments are stealing from roadside tourists, that you CANNOT locate data on how much money the cops took in AFTER 2017 ...The Government legally blocked that data from being available to " the common man".
Guess what American Police call their Civil Forfeiture Laws down there? ... " PENNIES FROM HEAVEN" ...think about that for a minute.
PS: There is a website that gives a rating from " A " to " F " for each province that abuses their Civil Forfeiture Laws and British Columbia AND Nova Scotia, where I am, both received " F " .

I had to deal with a couple of swatting attempts in recent times. The first time the RCMP came, the claimed they got a phone call about something happening in my home and threatened to kick my door in, but I refused to comply and told them to leave. A week later, a tactical unit arrived and threatened to kick in my door and arrest me for obstruction if I did not comply. I recorded everything and I was led to believe that I had no choice but to comply. They cuffed me and raided my home briefly, but then left my home and released me.
According to their explanation, a neighbor was calling in that there was a mass shooting in my apartment. I have a hard time believing this, or how the RCMP would believe this, and from the video of them searching my home they looked in my closets multiple times. They appeared to be recording the inside of my apartment with their own bodycams. They said they would investigate the caller for public mischief charges, and I said I wanted to press those charges, and then later on the RCMP supervisor told me that they would only consider it if the alleged caller did it a third time. I made a ATIP request for all their documents on this, since I don't really believe them, and I have received nothing back.
This is actually a scary situation because one of those times, I didn't even hear them hammering on the door. I wear noise-cancelling headphones where I don't even notice fire alarms. It really seems to me that they can make up the emergency situation excuse to cover up any other reason they want access to your home. When they threatened to charge me with obstruction, they refused to show themselves outside of my peephole and I had to call a dispatcher to confirm that they were actually police, and the snarky dispatcher told me "well if police were at my door, I would just answer it". Who knows why they are there. They could be just making that up because they have bogus charges against you and you are now being hauled off to the camps in the middle of the night with no idea what is even happening.

A bunch of years ago I was sitting in my living room with a couple friends when there was a knock on the front door. I answered it and it was 2 cops informing me there was an alarm in my garage that whent off. I calmly informed them there was no alarm in my garage and they had the wrong house. RCMP officer insisted he had that address right and for a few minutes we debated with me staying calm and kept repeating there was no alarm in my garage but there was a 100lb German Shepherd that was no longer sleeping as it was maybe 11pm and I am sure she could hear the voices. So eventually one cop say to the other go check back with dispatch and sure enough the alarm was a few houses down. I am thinking whoever set the alarm off was long gone by then. End of the day calm heads prevailed and no one was hurt and I have no idea if it even was a legitimate garage alarm incident.

This video really pisses me off. In law, you are meant to be able to "spot the issue", while cops do brake the rules as you describe, thats not the primary issue, the primary issue is Rogue cops who receive a "standard education" on how to circumvent the rules, how to illegally enter, legally with a fabricated reason that I'm not going to give examples of.
Then you have a knock on the door, you don't answer so guess what, a fabricated
reason gets the door broken off in seconds and a swarm of cops on a path of destruction.
It boils down to the "training" cops get on how to break the law, how
to find a legally valid reason based on "foolproof" bizarrely false reasons, that are "subjective" for which
they can use because its impossible to prove that they acted improperly.
What happens is there are no records kept of all these illegal break and enters or "illegal searches"
and the same cops from the same detachments keep using the same old fool proof ways of
    not needing a warrent.
These creeps are protected by Judges who refuse to allow any mention in a trial of what they got up to.
Now, don't expect a criminal lawyer to mention any of this on TH-cam because if he did, he too
would become a marked man and suddenly find himself or herself a target.
Thats the corrupt state of law in Ontario.

When I went to the door. I opened the window beside it asking them what the hell they were doing. They told me they were looking for the previous occupant and would like to have a look around. I said no, that person doesn't live here anymore, even offered his mail that I had. I didn't want them in my house as I knew they were corrupt, even legit officers get the drive through treatment, they don't take off their shoes and that is a deal breaker for me.

Those who have a legal Restricted Firearm? My understanding is that the police have the right to come in and “inspect” to see if we are complying with all the laws related to storing those items.

    • @glenadams2530
      @glenadams2530 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

In Canada, under the Firearms Act, police officers do not have the right to enter your home without your permission simply because you own a restricted or prohibited firearm. However, the law does allow inspections of premises where firearms are kept to ensure compliance with regulations around safe storage, transportation, and handling.
An inspector can come to inspect your firearms, but they must meet certain criteria:
Consent or Warrant: Inspectors cannot enter your home without your consent unless they have a warrant. You can refuse entry, in which case the authorities would need to get a warrant.
Reasonable Notice: Inspections must typically be done during reasonable hours, and the owner must be given reasonable notice.
Scope of Inspection: The inspection is limited to areas where firearms are stored, not your entire home.
So, while police can perform inspections, they cannot do so without your consent or a court-issued warrant, ensuring your legal rights are protected under Canadian law.
Bottom line...don't let them in! Police (as all of us) are loaded with bias and can make a mountain out of a molehill if allowed.
If I'm wrong any way, hopefully our good lawyer friend here can correct me.
