    Tanto tempo se passou
E é tão bom ter você aqui
Não há limites para o amor
    Quando se vive com sorte
A vida contigo é muito melhor
Esqueci o medo de viver só
    Com você me sinto bem
    Contigo sou feliz também
Agora o mundo é só nós dois
E Todo o resto ficou pra depois
    Enquanto eu estiver aqui
O nosso amor vai ser forte
A vida contigo é muito melhor
Esqueci o medo de viver só
    Com você me sinto bem
    Contigo sou feliz também
    Oh! you pretty things
Meu amor por ela é forte
    Como ele não tem
    Oh! you pretty things
    Com você me sinto bem
    Contigo sou feliz também
    Oh! you pretty things
Meu amor por ela é forte
    Como ele não tem
    Oh! you pretty things

    E como ele não tem
E se outros têm pode ter certeza que o meu é superior

Hi ! When I read "I'm proud to be Brasilian", the person that had written that CAN be proud. I must say that I'm a big Brasilians' songs fan, had bought the 2 Djavan's songbooks, and had uploaded half of my videos with Brasilians' songs, Carlos Lyra, chico Buarque,G.GIL, & the songs from Vinicius or Tom jobim,Djavan, for sure, etc...& I'm a big Bowie fan too, got 16 vynils+17 CDs of all his songs classified years they had been written by years...Very cool version of "changes". BYE !

American pop music would not exist without African and European vernacular music and instrumentation. It did not suddenly spring up fully formed in America one day. Like all musical styles it is a synthesis of pre-existing genres. And if you want to know who David Bowie's influences are, look at his covers album Pin Ups. There are no American acts represented on it.

This is Seu Jorge interpreting David Bowie, not John Williams interpreting Tárrega. I personally enjoy the sound of the fingers sliding over the strings, don't think you have heard much Brazilian popular music, but it's quite common in that kind of music. A good sense of functional harmony, that's what really counts as technique in this type of music, and Seu Jorge has it. Hehe, Americans, what would they know about spanish/classical guitar anyways? (:

If you really knew Portuguese, you´d realize they´re not "pretty much the same". The fact is that most Spanish speakers can´t understand Portuguese, whereas we Brazilians do understand Spanish, at least if ir´s spoken slowly.
O espanhol usa palavras que, para nós brasileiros, soam mais arcaicas, como se fosse o nosso português antigo.

I think you're reading a little much into it. People say things like that all the time, like "What fruit is that supposed to be". As long as the "supposed" isn't stressed, it's just a normal question.

All you have to do is look up Bowie's bio on wikipedia and he names many American musicians as his influence: Elvis Presley, Platters, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, etc. Like I said, Bowie's music is here thanks to the influence of American musicians.

I really have no idea what's the point of your comment. As far as I'm aware, though, the US isn't a socialist republic, so TH-cam is most likely owned by its creators or whoever they sold it to... seriously what was the point of this anyways? Don't get me wrong, I don't really have anything against Americans and I generally try not to be as prejudicious as in my other comments... people like you make it real hard, though.

Quite a lot more than what you could imagine, probably. But yeah, too bad David Bowie isn't either pop music nor American. That's quite a nice way to overly simplify pop culture and its origins anyways.

I never said America invented everything. But David Bowie's music was entirely influenced by American pop music. Doesn't matter if it's British or Portuguese, David Bowie wouldn't be here if it weren't for American music. Fact.

  • @setlasmon

..like anything thats not english is just some poor attempt at language. he is also a speling champoin.

  • @davannacarter

The point is you're making negative comments against Americans on a site started by Americans, while you listen to pop music, which is created by Americans, and Seu Jorge's songs were featured in an American movie. That's idiotic. Perhaps I should go to Mexico and make fun of people who eat tacos, wear sombreros, and dance in long, pointy shoes.

  • @13BostonGeorge
