I bought Teddy Boy Original & Railcar Fine Goods two months ago because of this blog. They were my first pomades and I really enjoy them. I really dislike other water based pomades out there in the market that hardens up into a helmet. The hold of Teddy Boy is medium however the smell and how it feels on my scalp really makes me happy throughout the whole day. I did have to restyle, but I enjoy combing my hair so it was not a big problem~~ Railcar was just a good as Teddy Boy original in terms of the smell, sophisticated design of the jar & stronger hold. Thanks Pomp
I'm just curious, when you say that the best pomade you ever tried was a bit too expensive to use on the daily, how expensive do you mean? Cus I looked it up on the internet and I found it for about 20 dollars, isn't that like the normal price range? In Sweden where I live all pomades are kind of in that price range. Are pomades in the US a lot cheaper than that? What do they actually cost in the US on averege?
I have very thick hair, want to find something strong enough to hold it down but wont leave it hard. What would be the best choice? or would a pomade not be suitable?
Awesome video! Question: I play soccer, and would like to know a product that can resist against sweat and humidity and hold the hairstyle well enough.... Thanks!
Is there any other water based pomade that doesn't dry at all that maybe is made by a little bit bigger company so that I can find the product in Europe? I can't find the Teddy boy original anywhere in Sweden, and I don't want to have to order it everytime from the US.
What's something water based for my not too thick hair that'll make it look like I didn't do much to it? Basically want a matte, shineless look. New to this stuff so I don't want something too high end/expensive.
Hi James can I ask in your opinion what one is the best out of, suavecito firm strong and layrite original deluxe pomade, both water base As I'm unshor on what one to buy, limited to what I buy in the UK Thanks Rich
What would be the best pomade with the strongest hold for curly hair? I've been using Murray's Superior Pomade and its good but some curls still tend to show later in the day, what would you recommend
RockabillyAlex not at the moment that's the problem. I usually stop at that site because simply its awesome all around to the products t the customer care, but they are out of stock. Pomades.com (with an "S") says they have some though.
honestly I think you should wait until the lockharts either open up their etsy store on june 1 when hopefully the new goon grease scent will be available or wait until pomade.com or pomades.com stock up on the lockharts line.
lockharts heavy, shmiere hart or knupplehart, or granddads heavy pretty much any wax heavy product will give you that look or slick devil but I think most water based products are the same shit and will likely give you the look you're going for if you apply to dry hair
How does Anchor's teddy boy pomade work with my type of hair(very soft and falls down very often)? I'm using american crew fiber right now and I don't really like it much. How does anchor compare to the american crew fiber? And if you can can you suggest me one that fits my type of hair
Anchor is water based so you won't get the build up of an oil base as it washes out. Also water base pomades tend harden up making it harder to restyle. it's all just personal preference I do recommend iron society though.
if u intend to do a comb back style / 'hair pull up', Teddy Boy Original is ok but if you want to a more defined 'hair up' or mohawk, i recommend Suavecito Firme Hold.
I have thick hair and unless your hair is ridiculously thick and nappy it will hold your hair all day but you will need to learn how to get used to it as it is unlike any other water based pomade
Dude, Teddy Boy is a great product, I knew about it before Pomp's review and just loved it. Like it even more that the Pomp likes it too. Husband's hair smells heavenly and it has a nice, soft delectable hold.
Im completely new to this kinda stuff. Id really appreciate it if you guys told me more about pomade. Just anything in general really. Are there different kinds? In the video he talks about Light, Medium, and Heavy pomades? Whats the difference? Obviously light is light, and heavy is heavy haha but what is better for what situation? Any tips/advice would help, thanks!
He Has Videos on how to choose a pomade, and the differences between oil and water base pomade, For more information you are wanting. And If the videos don't help. Just try pomades and see what works and what doesn't.
I know some good pomades is called Murray's and if you mix the light and the super hair hold you get a nice shining hair look and also holds thick hair
PPS Pomade Extra Hold in the Green tub ... PPS Waxx is styling pomade with a medium to strong hold. It contains beeswax for texture and control, and apricot kernel oil to promote gloss and lustre. It has a coconut fragrance and delivers a naturally shiny finish. The pomade is shampoo-soluble ... that's my shit!
teddy boy original or teddy boy matte if you want water soluble pomades or goon grease, PND, ruezel (green tin) or the taylor of old bond st hair wax (if you have the hair for the light hold) that or waste your time buying lesser products like shiner gold or layrite
You're definitely going need something that holds fairly well. any strong hold pomade would do the job. i know because i have the same hair style like his, FYI the hairstyle is called a quiff. hope this helps! :)
TO ALL POM NOOBS: Don't go out and by a $25 dollar jar of pom just because this guy said they are his favorite. All of his recommendations are stellar products, but if you're a noob, you don't even know if you LIKE pom in the first place! Pick up a tin of Dax Wave & Groom, it is one of my all time favorites; and the price? 6 bucks. Cheers from Chicago!
Anyone ride motorcycle or anything and find a pomade that holds better after wearing a helmet? I have pretty thick hair and i'm assuming a heavy hold is the best bet but would oil or water based be better? i can't even go in public after i take my helmet off bc my hair gets so messed up, i need to bring a hat with me everywhere, no fun.
I have really thick wavy hair to the point where no matter what type of pomade i use the waves just show. Unfortunately your hair is going to get messed up regardless of what type of pomade you use so you'll just have to restyle it in public. I'd go for a heavy oil based product like Goon Grease if you can find it but if you can't definitely use a type that's easy to re-comb like brylcreem or something.
I have wavy/curly hair, wear a motorcycle helmet every day, and live in a humid climate. So far, the best pomade I've found for those conditions is The Iron Society Firm. You may need to touch it up slightly with a comb after you take your helmet off, but usually just a quick touch up with my hands is enough. Check it out, good stuff! I still haven't tried Goon Grease, it is next on my list.
It's a very popular trend and in my opinion you look stupid if you don't not necessarily stupid but just it does not look right I've always buttoned my top botton
You should try a different hair style ither another pompadour type or just brushed back that the one you have look idk wack type. Or atleast so people can see different type of styles. j.s ither way it's your hair (:
i brought Admiral due to the hype online but was disappointed. It labelled itself as strong hold but I will rate it medium+ hold. If you intend to comb mohawk or spike upward kind of style, skip Admiral, go for Suavecito Firme Hold instead. Admiral will do well for comb back style. Teddy Boy Original has a better hold than Admiral.
This stuff is trash your better off using water as a pomade. I have the lightest hair and it couldn't hold for shit. Had high expectations for this product. It feels like admiral but admiral 100 times better than this product.
Its been a year since you posted this. I'd love to see another top Pomades video. So much has changed since this.

4:09 for water based

James Sarvan I got Suavecito extra form hold pomade for $12 at the store
What are you using in this video? It looks wet and shiny. You should do a elephant trunk.
Can you use Pomade for other styles besides Pompadours?
I use pomade for a simple side part.
Comb-overs
Jason S. You can just it on your pubes and give them The Don King
Jason S. Use it to spike (short hair).
I started using pomade with a Pompadour, but slowly transitioned into Man Bun
Which do you prefer Admiral or Anchors teddy boy original? Thanks
I have very thick hair, want to find something strong enough to hold it down but wont leave it hard. What would be the best choice? or would a pomade not be suitable?
Awesome video man. Btw what pomade are you using on your hair in this vid?
Could you give us links to all the pomades you chose?
Awesome video!
Question: I play soccer, and would like to know a product that can resist against sweat and humidity and hold the hairstyle well enough.... Thanks!
Hanz De Fuko quicksand.
Hey POMP!!! Would you consider Railcar fine goods pomade as one of the best pomades????
So if I have about medium thick hair, kinda wavy do you think I should get Pomps not dead or Admiral? Or something else?
Is there any other water based pomade that doesn't dry at all that maybe is made by a little bit bigger company so that I can find the product in Europe?
I can't find the Teddy boy original anywhere in Sweden, and I don't want to have to order it everytime from the US.

As I'm unshor on what one to buy, limited to what I buy in the UK
Thanks Rich
I.e., what pomade is your hair holding with in this video?
I'm going for Ricki Hall's hair style. What kind of water based pomade would be good for that?
Steadfast
Love the videos! Two questions: what product do you personally use consistently? And what brand and name of glass are those?
What would be the best pomade with the strongest hold for curly hair? I've been using Murray's Superior Pomade and its good but some curls still tend to show later in the day, what would you recommend
for wavy/curly hair, would you recommend layrite, or teddy boy original?
i would go for Layrite.
I use Crew pomade...water based...med. hold, great shine..no drying
Cheers
cant find that goon grease anywhere. any tips as to where it might be available?
pomades.com
Goon grease can be purchased at pomade.com
RockabillyAlex not at the moment that's the problem. I usually stop at that site because simply its awesome all around to the products t the customer care, but they are out of stock. Pomades.com (with an "S") says they have some though.

Make a 2015 version of this please!
He already did.
Dapper Hako oh wtf
Where'd you cop your button front?
What pomades would you recommend for a short length hair comb over thanks!
For water based pomade , you should try Suavecito , Uppercut Deluxe and Layrite or Shiner .
What kind of glasses are those
I don't know why but I can't stop laughing when I see your face 😂😂😂😂😂😂
+Good Boy yes, it just like watching myself speaking
what glasses do you have?
Which pomade with a strong hold and matte finish would you recommend if I have a long, coarse and thick hair for an undercut style?
Blind Barber 90 is pretty strong and matte
lockharts heavy, shmiere hart or knupplehart, or granddads heavy pretty much any wax heavy product will give you that look or slick devil but I think most water based products are the same shit and will likely give you the look you're going for if you apply to dry hair
What is the last pomade??
How does Anchor's teddy boy pomade work with my type of hair(very soft and falls down very often)? I'm using american crew fiber right now and I don't really like it much. How does anchor compare to the american crew fiber? And if you can can you suggest me one that fits my type of hair
The iron society
how does it hold up to anchor?

What kind of frames are those?
Hi, how long does teddy boy original hold?
I have thick hair and unless your hair is ridiculously thick and nappy it will hold your hair all day but you will need to learn how to get used to it as it is unlike any other water based pomade
Dude, Teddy Boy is a great product, I knew about it before Pomp's review and just loved it. Like it even more that the Pomp likes it too. Husband's hair smells heavenly and it has a nice, soft delectable hold.
what do you recommend for someone with fine hair and when using pomade it usually looks great right after but through out the day the pomp falls flat?
murray’s
Next time can you include a category for best matte pomades. Im a guy who loves pomades without the high shine, wet look.
Use wax, I tend to use a high shine pomade but when I'm having a lazy day but don't want to look like a complete bum I use a wax
Please what r u using in this vid????? Pls
hi ive heard that pomade is best for curly hair, is it true? and if so wich product would your recommend for curly hair? thank you
layrite or suavecito.... basically any strong hold water based pomade
Im completely new to this kinda stuff. Id really appreciate it if you guys told me more about pomade. Just anything in general really. Are there different kinds? Whats a strong water based pom but also very shiny ?
Cool grease
I use Original Suavecito (not Firme) and then I just hit it with a little bit of hair spray to give it more hold
Admiral pomade gives you shine
I know some good pomades is called Murray's and if you mix the light and the super hair hold you get a nice shining hair look and also holds thick hair
Were do you get all those made please answer
I like to use and many people I'm sure uses are . Pomade.com but I usually use amazon because I have prime aha
This is making me want to get that teddy boy, I've heard some really good reviews.
Does anybody know of a good homebrewed medium pomade that has A LOT of shine?
Is schwarzkopf got2b rockin' it a pomade? Or other? Like wax and stuffs
Lol
alghifari wb No, I've tried their wax which is supposed to "rock it a pomade", however, it truly sucks. Ass. Major ass.
***** i have it too but i use that no more, now my hairstyle are messy so i dont have to use pomade and stuffs like that
do some a give a way pomade
PPS Pomade Extra Hold in the Green tub ... PPS Waxx is styling pomade with a medium to strong hold. It contains beeswax for texture and control, and apricot kernel oil to promote gloss and lustre. It has a coconut fragrance and delivers a naturally shiny finish. The pomade is shampoo-soluble ... that's my shit!
If you can get your hands on it, you should review Grip Grease by Fibertech.
What about axe pom?
Layrite Super Shine or Teddy Boy Original?
Anthony Rendon two completely different categories
No Railcar?
which pomade would be perfect for the Alex Turner kind of hairstyle? Something that doesn't dry
Shiners gold pomade.
Thanks!
Ben McC Shiner Gold DOES dry. You should really try Goon Grease.
teddy boy original or teddy boy matte if you want water soluble pomades or goon grease, PND, ruezel (green tin) or the taylor of old bond st hair wax (if you have the hair for the light hold) that or waste your time buying lesser products like shiner gold or layrite

I use high life heavy
Please review Pomps Not Dead Firmage ..
okay why does he button the top button?
It Hurts When IP ALWAYS BUTTON THE TOP BUTTON...FUCKING NOOB!!! YOU MUST BE A WHITE BOY???
Paul R. you only button the top button if you wear a tie, or bow tie...
It's a very popular trend and in my opinion you look stupid if you don't not necessarily stupid but just it does not look right I've always buttoned my top botton
water bases, teddy boy matte !
tip: bring wedge forward
just advice no hate and this my opinion!
Teddy Boy Original is fucking incredible
Nice pomp james
I got the teddy boy original and the smell reminds me of tiger balm ;D you fellow asians should mostly know what this is ;)
You should try a different hair style ither another pompadour type or just brushed back that the one you have look idk wack type. Or atleast so people can see different type of styles. j.s ither way it's your hair (:
I pomade my eyebrows :-)
Great job bruh

Teddy Boy Original has a better hold than Admiral.
I love Murrays in the Orange tin...you need scolding boiling water and industrial toxic acid to get it off your fingers afterward...
He's using suavecito. High hold and is water based. It's like the water based version of Murray's.
Hahah. Looks like the Asian version of Elvis. HAHHAHA weird.
railcar is good
This stuff is trash your better off using water as a pomade. I have the lightest hair and it couldn't hold for shit. Had high expectations for this product. It feels like admiral but admiral 100 times better than this product.
